Refresh Exteriors

I used Refresh Exteriors in the fall of 2024 to replace my roof, which had been damaged due to hail. After a heavy rainfall several months later I had some water leaking into my home. I contacted them to inquire if they could come to inspect, as at first glance seemed to be below the roof they replaced. They quickly responded and upon investigation located a piece of siding that had come off the home, in an area above the roof area in question. They helped with a quick patch in an effort to buy time to look at the siding in greater detail (it is quite old). Their prompt response, desire to help immediate concerns definitely puts them at the very top of my list for when I do finally take on the much needed residing project!

We recently got a new roof with Refresh Exteriors! I can’t tell you how phenomenal of a company they were to work with. Mike was our main point of contact from start to finish and he was such a joy to work with! He stayed in touch with us every step of the way and was available at anytime with questions we had. The day of the actual replacement it was quick and efficient and their clean up crew not only spent 2+ hours cleaning and combing the yard for nails etc, they came back AGAIN the following day to look for nails and make sure our yard was spotless. If you are looking for a roofing company whose priority is customer service and excellence, go with Refresh! Also ask for Mike, he made this experience what it was!

Working with Refresh was a great experience from start to finish. I was having trouble getting my insurance company to cover my hail damage to my roof and gutters. Refresh helped me work with my insurance company and we got the insurance approved for the repairs. The crew was very professional and on time for all appointments. They got my roof completely replaced in a few days. They made sure the work was done correctly. I liked how they made sure the clean up was done at the end to my expectations. We worked with Mike Deutsch at Refresh Exteriors for our hail damage repair. After meeting with another contractor that was only going to get our roof approved Mike was able to identify more damage. We ultimately got much more and are very thankful for that because now we have peace of mind that our exterior is covered for years to come.

Can’t say enough good stuff about how Refresh Exteriors handled my insurance claim for new siding and a new roof. My insurance company did not want to pay for a new roof for hail damage, Refresh kept on them over about a 6 month period and were encouraging to me when it looked like my claim might not get paid out. Finally the insurance agreed to pay for a whole new roof and vinyl siding for our townhouse and garage. So happy with that.

Wow! Refresh Exteriors really came in and saved the day. We had been working with a different contractor through State Farm that was completely lackluster and non responsive. It was months and months of no action until Jared at Refresh came knocking. He had Chris Poston come by and from then on, service, communication and the whole experience was top notch. My husband and I were totally impressed with the integrity of each person involved with our Refresh Exteriors team. Our salesman, Mike, went above and beyond when meeting with our adjuster while inspecting our roof. The project manager, Chad, made sure that every detail in protecting our newly remodeled home was taken along with supplying samples requested for approval, from shingles to metals. Ethan was on site to reinforce that the crew members working on the roof understood our concerns. The men working on the project were courteous, respectful and efficient. The entire team demonstrated the goal of having the project done right to ensure our satisfaction.

Amber and Nick were the saving grace of our experience with Refresh and the only reason this isn’t a one-star review. From the start, they went above and beyond, giving us service that felt personal and attentive. After another roofing company failed to prove damage for insurance, Amber and Nick arrived the next day. Amber fearlessly climbed our steep roof and discovered extensive hail and wind damage that was previously missed. She documented everything for our insurance adjuster and spent hours on the phone to ensure all details were covered. Amber and Nick’s dedication gave us confidence in Refresh for our roof and siding.

Unfortunately, our experience went downhill once Amber and Nick weren’t directly involved. Mike, a supposed project manager, was consistently unreliable. Example. Despite explicitly informing him that we didn’t want our garage roof replaced, this even being documented on more than one occasion in writing, the crew showed up and tore it off anyway. Aaron, another Refresh lead and supposed "higher up", admitted “recent miscommunications” and offered to replace it for free, but this oversight showed serious lapses in communication.

The siding project was even more chaotic. With insurance deadlines looming, we had to chase down Mike for a meeting with “Siding Guy” Josh, who, when arrived, only snapped a few photos, had quick conversation with Mike and left us with no siding color or style samples nor any concrete guidance as to what to expect moving forward. Weeks later, frustrated by a lack of updates, we pushed Aaron for answers and were told materials that had been to blame for the delays (which were due to the colors we had chosen) had finally been “discovered” and could be ordered upon our approval. Even then, during installation, we had to repeatedly intervene as the crew installed the wrong siding colors or removed original trim from our late-1800s home, despite Josh’s promises. When confronted with these mistakes, Josh tried to claim we’d changed plans, which Amber quickly dismissed, recalling our original instructions. We told Josh that we were not interested in having to be the ones to supervise the work being done and that he or someone else needed to be present more to catch these preventable errors. The siding was finally completed in early December, six months after we’d started in June.

After completion, we requested a final invoice, which took Refresh four months to deliver, citing various delays including (of course) blaming our insurance who was continually prompt at making payment for any post project amendments as well as Aaron eluding to our project being a slight "experiment" for him negotiating O&P with our insurance company. Finally, in mid-April, they sent it, and within 24 hours, Hunter, the Accounting Manager, asked when Amber or Nick could pick up the check!!
We explained that, given the delay in receiving the invoice, we needed time to review it. Additionally, our insurance payments were in a high-yield savings account with no physical branches in our state, limiting us to a $2,500 daily transfer. Initially, Hunter understood, but less than two weeks later, he threatened a lien on our property if payment wasn’t immediate—a practice even Amber and Nick confirmed was unusual and apologized to us for such rash and incorrect information. Ultimately, Refresh agreed to cover the wire transfer costs, and we paid the invoice.

Since then, we’ve had to request multiple repairs for siding and trim. Our neighbor, who began his project shortly after us in mid-2023, had similar communication issues, only recently completing his project after over a year.

Amber and Nick are the only reason we would recommend Refresh. Without them, we’d advise caution in working with this company.

Pure and simply, I don’t want to work with any other contractor in the future. They’re so friendly, patient, understanding, and focused on taking care of the their clients that I doubt they have an equal in the country. Despite struggles with my insurance, for a total of 11 months, they kept me informed while my replacement roof was in process. It took half a day to get it stripped and replaced and it’s perfect. Nothing but appreciation and respect for them and their incredible team.

We had a wonderful experience with Refresh Exteriors for our roof replacement after a bad hailstorm in 2019. Mike and Pat walked us through the process and coordinated with our insurance company. The work was done quickly and professionally and has stood the test of time.

Worked with Mike at Refresh Exteriors to redo some of our siding. Was starting to show its age/get soft and wanted to upgrade to something low maintenance. Had a few folks out to quote and Mike had the most detailed info plus a reasonable price for the work. Communication was good throughout the project. Getting city and state inspection to pass took a bit of time, but wasn't exteriors fault. Overall highly recommend!

Refresh Exteriors did roof repair work and installed gutter guards on two properties we manage. The work was done promptly and properly. Communication with them was excellent.

We had an intense hail storm here in Golden Valley, MN on 8/11/23. A few days after I met Dillon D’Valle from Refresh Exteriors. He was canvassing our neighborhood after the storm. Normally I would find that suspect, but Dillon was so detailed oriented and expert. And Dillon and his crew were very good at working with the adjusters to make sure that they had the right materials to do the job properly. Of course there were some issues, but our roof has always been very problematic. It has a very low pitch and is prone to large ice damns with subsequent leakage of water into the house. The Refresh crew, including Josh and Riker, were able to resolve these issues quite satisfactorily. This included an upgraded ice shield under the shingles that covered the whole roof and adding additional turbine vents. Given their expertise and the quality of their work, I would highly recommend this team of roofers.

Great contracting company to work with. They secured full insurance coverage for storm damage, completed the project with quality products and skilled workers, and were a kind and courteous team with all my questions and follow up.

Refresh Exteriors Amber Hanley did a huge huge favor for me and kudos to them! My insurance was going to cancel me for roof staining. Amber came out and inspected my roof. She could have been dishonest and tried to convince me to file a claim for hail, but she did the opposite. She told me my roof looks good and the staining is due to the refinery and cement plant. Then she took it a step further and wrote a detailed letter to my carrier explaining this and asking for a reconsideration of the cancelation. The letter is amazingly detailed and professional! Guess what she charged me? Nada. She did it because she cares about our community. I can promise that when I DO need a new roof, I will be calling her. Thank you, Amber!

Refresh Exteriors came out and inspected my roof and found significant hail damage. They dealt with my insurance directly and took care of the gutters and will take care of my deck in the spring. They came out quickly to replace the roof and did a great job. I highly recommend them.

Refresh was an incredible company to work with. Getting a new roof is not something many people really look forward to, but the entire team made the process extremely smooth even when dealing with some major problems from my insurance company. We had a few leaks that developed between a very old roof, hail damage, and ice dams.

We worked directly with Amber H., Mike D., and Hunter H. at various times, and all of them were really helpful at various stages of the process. Everything was explained clearly and our options were known throughout the entirety of the process.

The whole Refresh team (Mike especially) did everything they could to advocate for us with the insurance company and delivered an extremely high quality product and service. They even squeezed us in on extremely short notice in spite of an upcoming cold spell that could have jeopardized some of our roofing needs heading into another winter.

We have been managing a home renovation project concurrent with this roof claim, and have had some odd items between the timing of our roof being done, gutters, and downspouts. The Refresh team handled it all smoothly and without hesitation, so having one surefire contractor that we could reliably count on helped put our minds at ease.

I hope to not need Refresh for a roof again for a long time, but I will absolutely recommend them to anyone for a roof, and will certainly use them again in the future for this or other services.

We had called about 4 or 5 different companies to bid our roof. Refresh was not the cheapest bid we received, but was also not the most expensive bid we received. We picked Refresh Exteriors to be the company to replace our roof. From start to finish they helped walk us through the whole project. We knew what to expect and were able to plan accordingly. When discussions came up about what shingle to use or if we should replace gutters or anything else, we never once felt pressured to any add-ons; when we said no to gutters he simply said okay and moved on, there was no pressure to upgrade the shingle or anything else.
They went above and beyond. If we need any other roof replacements we will be calling them again, and will also recommend them our friends and family!

I have received multiple unsolicited robocalls from this company despite telling them to not call and being on the national do not call registry. I can barely use my phone after getting hail in my neighborhood because of companies like this. Give your business to a company that doesn't use scummy tactics and harass people for business.

I had never made an insurance claim on a home before due to storm damage, or for any reason. But, after a massive storm hit our area, Nathanael from Refresh Exteriors came and inspected our roof. After marking all damage (hail + wind) and taking tons of photos, he recommended we make a claim. He said we had so much damage we needed a new roof and new siding.

Fast forward >>
The insurance adjuster came out and said we had $1,200 of damage. I let Nathanael know and HE REACHED OUT TO THE INSURANCE COMPANY to show them photos of damage. It turned out the adjuster only took a few photos and they were shots of the whole roof from a few different angles and each the side of the house. Nathanael's photos, on the other hand, were of each individual damage point. After requesting another adjuster and having similar poor photos taken, it was Nathanael's photos that got us insurance coverage from the storm damage. Also worth mentioning, as our adjusters kept getting switched around and our case was handed to different people, Refresh Exteriors continued to reach out to us with any updates our insurance company gave. Nathanael even repeatedly found out who our new assigned adjusters were and gave me their contact information. After tons of back and forth, fighting with the insurance company, we were awarded funds for a new roof and siding for the house.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND REFRESH EXTERIORS.
I had no idea what I was doing. They were so thorough and on top of everything. They even answer the phone when you call. And the handful of times they didn't answer, I would receive a call back within an hour. Keep in mind, with how many times our insurance company changed our adjuster, we were on the phone with Nathanael often. There is no other contractor in our area that does that. If you need work done on your home, especially if insurance companies are involved, you need to work with Refresh Exteriors - specifically Nathanael Anderson.

When someone nicely asks you to leave when you are going door to door, you leave. Asked nicely 3 times for the man at our door to leave and then had start raising my voice. NO means NO. How is that so hard to understand. I have 2 little kids at home and luckily my husband was home and overhead the man and ran upstairs to confront the person. I've never had to call non-emergency dispatch to ask police to speak to a solicitor. Wow, just wow.

A salesman, Charles, came to our door and bad mouthed our insurance company. They stated our current insurance company would only pay 80% of our roof claim and that we should switch to another company. This statement is false and our roof as it sits now is entirely covered under our policy. Is your salesman whose making these claims a licensed insurance agent as well? Seems extremely unprofessional.

Our 23-year-old roof was badly in need of being replaced. We received a prompt response from Refresh Exteriors when we called. They negotiated on our behalf with our insurance company and helped us with shingle options. The workmen arrived when the weather finally cooperated, and did the whole job in one day, including the garage and a new addition to the house. Our cost for the job was very acceptable, and we couldn't more pleased with the final result. Thank you Refresh Exteriors!

Overall great experience getting our roof replaced due hail storm. Several contractors knocked on our door after the storm, but Refresh Exteriors was the most thorough, confident, and patient working with our insurance after initial claim denied, appeal process, second adjuster, and handling all the steps and paperwork through to completion. The installation crew worked so efficiently together, and were exceptional on clean up - we were very impressed by their hard work and integrity. Highly recommend!

Refresh Exteriors replaced our roof after hail damage last fall. They were professional, easy to work with, and accommodating. If I had any issues, Anthony Z. helped sort it out immediately. Workmanship was excellent. Although some of our gutter guards were misaligned during the job, Refresh Exterior made it right by fixing or replacing those that were damaged during the job. Poor quality workmanship on my roof. Cut lines done poorly, shingle overhang not straight (this was corrected later), gutters scratched up (fixed later), old shingles thrown on my flowers, products ordered that were not needed or used (read their "checklist") this is product you/your insurance company pay for and they keep.

When I discovered water running down an inside wall last summer, I went on Angi looking for someone to repair the leak. Within hours, I got a call from the young sales rep, Jaymen, at Refresh Exteriors - which was timely because it was between downpours, more water was streaming in, & I was panicking. In less than 30 minutes, personable Jaymen & his boss, company owner Pat, arrived with tarps & proceeded to cover the damaged end of our roof. When the ins claims adjuster declared the roof a total loss, Refresh Exteriors was the only company we considered: they're a local small business, they're obviously responsive, & the quality of their work & customer service is second to none. They replaced our ruined cedar shingle roof with a handsome metal roof, the first in our neighborhood - it gets regular attention from neighbors, delivery people, dog-walkers, etc. Presumably, it will last at least as long as this house keeps standing. I would enthusiastically encourage anyone trying to choose a roofing specialist to please contact Refresh Exteriors - they ARE the real deal.

Our experience with both Refresh and Jaymen was simply excellent. If I could rate this above 5 I would. The entire process was exceptional - a) Jaymen identified the damage b) worked with the insurance co to have the damage verified c) asisted in claim process d) explained the process of roof installation e) set the date f) completed the replacement in one day as stated g) coordinated with inspectors for final inspection. Finally, the workmanship was also exceptional: a) Jaymen worked wiht us to address the unusual aspects of our roof to ensure the underlayment was extended b) the crew who installed the roof, agin exceptionally professional c) finally the crew was very concientous in regards to clean up afterwards. As you can see, I would highly recommend Jaymen and refresh. We have had 3 roofs in 25 years - this was by far the best experience.

Working with Refresh Exteriors and Jaymen Mihm was one of the best experiences I have ever had with a company. Jaymen worked so hard in helping me navigate things with my insurance company and helping me understand the entire process from beginning to end. He was endlessly patient and available. They not only helped me to get my roof fully covered, but my siding as well. I will always look to Refresh Exteriors if I need exterior work done on my home. 5 star business for sure!

Mr Jaymin went the extra mile to handle the insurance settlement. He knew the ins and outs of dealing with insurance issues..He was more than happy to promptly answer any questions that I had...Refresh Exteriors was speedily and cleaned up yard of all nails etc..I would highly recommend Refresh Exteriors for anybody who needs new roof...

do you all remember the movie "My cousin Vinnie"... well, the insurance process was less than easy for a long time but jaymen was not only our joe Pesci, but our Marisa Tomei to boot! He worked with them tirelessly to get the job approved after some initial rejection.

Jaymen and his team were used by us and several in our neighborhood and were well liked by all. The crew did good work, and the cleanup was total.

Now the roof looks great and the gutters too!
