Red Roof Inn & Suites Vicksburg

After driving for nine hours, I went down the list of hotels requested on Google for availability that we needed for the night. This was the first of four that I called for a room with two beds. Of course, they had rooms because no one should stay there. The lady on the phone was somewhat rude. I understand it was 8–9 p.m. when I called. The parking is terrible if you have a moving truck or U-Haul. If someone claimed the back row of parking, then there is nowhere else to park unless you want to take a chance and park in the DQ parking lot. Entering the place, there was mold all over the ceiling tiles, especially around the elevator. The room was dirty. The floor looked like it had never been swept. The walls had never been wiped down. A part of the toilet lid was broken. The beds looked decent. I pulled the covers to check for bedbugs but didn't see any. We were tired and didn't feel like finding a new place to stay. I just wanna warn others.

My husband and I had a room on the 3rd floor. After driving 6.5 hours straight we were both exhausted from the road. The noise from the rooms down the hall kept both my husband and I up for most of the night. We awoke early looking forward to breakfast. Our choice was waffles or cereal. Not much of a choice.

This place just ripped off my family. Some man took the reservation on the phone. They paid over the phone. And when they got there the lady at the desk said she did not show the reservation are the payment on her computer so they got ahold of Red roof company and they said they show when the reservation was made and that they had paid for the room on their computer but the red roof in Vicksburg would not honor it because it didn't show on their computer. This is absolutely a ripoff and a scam they are pulling on people and stealing my family's money. Now they are out the money and didn't get the room we will be getting in touch with some News stations and getting the word out about this scam and getting in touch with The Law enforcement and reporting the scam

I love this hotel the staff is great the front desk manager is amazing his professionalism and dedication to this hotel is so unmatched I will be staying here again

Positive: "" Negative: Room was dirty. Floor hadn?t been swept. Staff said they had no one to clean it. No blow dryer. Wasn?t soap had to go get. Breakfast was bad. No butter to even put on waffle. Muffins were old. Was very loud die to street noise and people banging doors.

We stayed in room 125. Room was clean. Bed a little springy but slept ok. Great water pressure in shower and lots of hot water. Room well stocked with toiletries and towels/ toilet paper. A/C works fine. Breakfast was disappointing. Area was a mess. No juice, no bread out, no butter, no napkins, A leak from roof was dripping down in front of cereal dispenser. Saw lizard crawling around on floor.

the smell of weed smacks you in the face getting out of the car. it is supposedly a smoke free hotel. NO IT IS NOT. if you don’t like the smell of weed all day and all night i recommend to find somewhere better. the location is good but everything else is not.wish i could give a 0. the beds are not comfortable. there is so much wrong here, honestly wish i never stayed here.

The carpet was completely soaked and when I stepped on it I washed my foot off and whatever was on it came off black in the shower. I told the front desk and they said the guy that cleaned it was in a different city and there was nothing they could do. They also prop the back door open and people hang out in their vehicles outside the back door. It’s not safe. I left after a couple hours. Don’t go there. It’s unsanitary and unsafe.

Maybe I just got a bad room but my experience here was bad. I asked for non-smioking and the room had a funk and smelled like smoke. The bed sheets had stains and the bottom of the sheets had mold growing on them. The bathroom floor was sticky with gunk all over the floor and there was what looked like some blood stains on the floor. Microwave and fridge were in very bad shape and filthy. Was there with my 14 yr old daughter and we didn't want to touch anything much less sleep under the sheets. I will not recommend this hotel even if it was just this one room that may have been bad by chance.

THIS HOTEL IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST HOTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED AT!!! I WILL NEVER STAY AT THE RED ROOF INN AGAIN! I should have listened to my first instinct and not book here because Red Roof Inn don’t have a good name anyway. I also didn’t read the reviews before i booked, my mistake. This hotel is so nasty! The hallways smell like smoke, funk among other smelly things and the elevator is a complete joke. The elevator is so nasty and dirty it’s ridiculous! The workers are lazy sitting down at the front while they should be cleaning at least! The only reason I didn’t ask for a refund and go somewhere else is because everywhere else in the area was booked! The room smelled of smoke and the chair smelled of pee and the pictures they show on website do this place no justice it’s horrible! This is actually my first and probably last night here I am going to be asking for a refund for my remaining 3 nights and going elsewhere. This place is absolutely ridiculous! The owner of this establishment should be ashamed!!

We broke down and we're waiting for a tow truck. We asked to use their restroom and they refused. We had to stay the night. Red Roof did not get our business because they were unaccomodating of our needs.
Edit 09/23/2024: after reading other reviews I am wondering why Corporate has not revoked their franchise from this place! It literally is giving Red Roof® enterprise a very bad name!

In a rush driving cross country with my son we decided to book this hotel. I wish I hadn't been driving so I could have helped my son review some of our choices. We had his chinchilla with us so we wanted pet friendly, and that was about the nicest thing with this hotel. Guests were causing a commotion in the lobby, the linens were dirty, the refrigerator and microwave have seen better days, and then to top it off there are handprints going up the wall and cigarette burns on the toilet seat and tub. Oh and no breakfast, despite the site saying so.
The location is by far very lucrative for this establishment, between the food variety, location to shopping, and distance from the highway, you would expect top tier, instead you risk disease.

Upper management should probably shut this place down and have the employees go through each room and restore it to its intended state.

I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. I walked in to check in, it smelled like nothing but weed smoke. I stood at the desk for 30 minutes before a receptionist came to check me in and once she made it there. She didn’t greet me, she had a nasty attitude. Then once I received my key, it did not work. I had to come down and get another one. She went up stairs with me with the second key to make sure it worked. Once I got in the room, I put my belongings in the drawer and left right back out to hang out with a friend. Mind you, I looked for a do not disturb door hanger to put on the outside of the door so nobody would enter while I was gone but there wasn’t one. Made it back to the hotel a few hours later. Scanned the key and somebody else was occupying the room. I couldn’t even get in because they had the door stopper on the inside of the door. Went down to talk to the clerk she was on the phone supposedly with the manager after I told her what was going on but the manager would not speak to me over the phone. She said it was too late and that she would call me in the morning. I never stayed in the hotel never even sat on the bed and no one still haven’t returned my call or anything. I just want my refund for the hotel room!!!! Haven’t heard from anybody. That’s the worst experience I have had ever with hotel service. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL IN VICKSBURG, MS!!!!! 0 stars it’s terrible. TRASH!!!!

Positive: Nothing, this was an absolute disaster experience for one night stay. Negative: Everything, the rooms were filthy. They had to more me because the room that was assigned was uncleaned. The room we stayed in was not clean, sheets had hair and toe nails in them. We only stayed because it was late we were very tied.

This place is not clean at all. This company expects his employees and guest to work and stay at a mold infestation of a hotel. This is crazy. It is really crazy when you see the pictures of the hotel and it is all pretty and when you pull up and walk in you smell and see the mold everywhere. Please clean up and remodel for the safety of your workers and your patrons.

We arrived at 9:00 pm. Woman met us at the outside door, where she was with other people at a car in front of the door. Tells us she can only take cash that evening. We told her fine, giving her 100.00 for the 85.80 charge. She proceeded to tell us she would have to owe us 11.00 in the morning. We instead gave her 85.00 in cash. She told us that was close enough. ||The next morning asked for receipt, front desk gave us the receipt that said we were NO SHOW and charged our card. We had no proof that we paid the night before. I believe the woman that night pocketed that money. They need to fire that girl. Very unprofessional. Terrible was to start a trip. Don't stay there. No breakfast, with on indication on the web site.

Do not stay here!!! The desk clerk was rude. Not once did she smile or greet us. Assigned us to room 103 but the key card didn't work so she moved us to another room. The hallway smelled like mold and there were water stains on the ceiling, and moulding was falling off. Our room stinks horribly. The sink is made for someone 7' tall. When we went for breakfast there was a sign on the door apologizing because there was no breakfast. We paid $92 for this nasty place. We wanted to stay at the casino but they didn't have rooms so the reservationist recommended this place as a good alternative.

We book this room a month in advance. We walked in and a strong smell of weed smell. Got to our room it was ok. No remote, toilet was broke, tub had a crack by the drain. NO HOT WATER. I ran the water for 15 min and it never warmed up. A.C worked half the time. Maids came in, took out the trash and gave us new towels while we were gone. Which should never happen while the room is rented out.safety reasons. The biggest problem, the door would not close and stay closed. We got back to our room and it wasn’t closed all the way. That’s when we found out maids came in. This needs to be a policy while renting out a room not to have the maids come in and take out the trash and give you new towels. I’ve always asked for an extra towel when I check in.

I'm surprised Red Roof allows this place to continue to carry their name. This place is a joke. Upon arriving and given my room key, I went to the room only to discover bed sheets pulled down and pubic as well as other hairs throughout the bed as though it had just been used. The bathroom was a mess and the toilet had not been flushed. Went back to front desk to get another room, desk person could have cared less, to which she gives me keys to a room that was already occupied! Went back to which she says no one was supposed to be in that room. Obviously don't know or care to know what is happening there. Have been waiting for a refund for two weeks. Red Roof corporate is doing very little about a refund as well. Hotel never answers their phone. I was told by a nearby hotel it's nothing but hookers and drugs going in and out. Very surprised it hasn't been shut down.

If I could give 0 stars I would. The first thing you smell when you walk in is weed. The card readers were broken so they were giving out their master key. They need a plaque in the elevator to prove it's up to code. And the elevator smells what I assume to be mold. There were hair trimmings on the bed. The bed bug cover was unzipped. Showers and toilet were disgusting. If you need to use the restroom go to the dairy queen across the street. Hair trimmings on the bed. The only upside is that there's a dairy queen across the street. Find a holiday inn

The room smelled like weed when we walked in. The floors were dirty in the bathroom. Told the front desk clerk about it and she said she would move us to the 3rd floor but there was a leak and she said it smelled worse. The clerk said even though it is a non-smoking facility people smoke in the rooms and are not charged. My party left the facility without asking for a refund.

We stayed for 5 weeks while working at the power plant! Do not stay here let me repeat that DO NOT SAY HERE!!!!! Absolutely the worst hotel we have ever stayed at and we travel for work 6 months out of the year!!!! The rooms were filthy mold in the shower. We spilled some water on the carpet used a paper towel to mop it up and it came up absolutely black! Their housekeeping staff needs to be fired! There is no breakfast other than waffles to speak of! There laundry facilities are dirty and eat all your quarters! I personally saw staff smoking weed right out the front door on several occasions! The amount of sex hookups in the parking lot is unbelievable with used condoms left in the grass! And they charged our card for an extra night and will not refund!!!! This is the worst hotel I know it’s cheep but cheep needs to be better than this!!!!! We will never stay at another red roof anywhere after this one!!!!

I booked this place in a rush. The beds are clean. But, we were missing a remote, a lamp had no light bulb, the other lamp flickered constantly, the phone doesn’t work, the plug in was ripped out of the desk and laying on the floor, the shower curtain has mold, and the shower was dirty with handprints and soap scum. I don’t know how to post pictures but the bottom 1 foot by 2 foot corner was pure mold on the curtain. Definitely had not been washed in months.

Waarschijnlijk het ranzigste hotel waar ik ooit in m'n leven heb geslapen, wereldwijd. En ik reis zo'n 5 maanden van het jaar, dus heb in veel hotels geslapen. Dit soort hotels probeer ik normaal gesproken te vermijden. Niet gelukt dit keer. Stofzuigen doen ze er niet. De vloer plakt. Vlekken op de lakens. Personeel heeft ook totaal geen interesse in een beetje moeite doen voor hun gasten. "Complementary breakfast" was gewoon niet open, had er alleen graag een kop koffie genomen. Ik hou het op 2 sterren ipv 1 omdat het goedkoop is, en de locatie wel goed is. Maar eigenlijk dichterbij een 1 dan 2, want ik zou zeggen dat gewoon een schone kamer de absolute minimum is voor hotel.

The only good thing at this place is the location, fairly convenient. Yet there is plenty of hotels around, so the location doesn’t distinguish it in any way. Staff is super unfriendly, more interested in their phones and not willing to answer any questions. They are not motivated at all. Despite seeming that the rooms have been renovated fairly recent, the place is run down completely (a lot of water damage signs). Complimentary breakfast consists of a lot of empty containers, only waffles and plain bread was there together with ok coffee. Go somewhere else and spend a little more. This place seems to go out of business soon, just trying to milk it as much as possible towards the end.

Super Sweet Employees! Night time clerk(Toya) made me feel at home and did everything in her power to accommodate my needs! Rooms could look better, thought they offered breakfast but they DONT.! Lobby looked great and smelled amazing

Night time clerk Tonya was very polite and sweet, even at 3am she was still full of energy and smiles. ENJOYED MY STAY HERE.! Wish they offered an actual breakfast but Tonya did a great job at recommending other local spots.

Horrible Hotel Avoid avoid avoid. Showed up after booking (not reserved) a room a week in advance. the hotel sold my booked room then charged my credit card twice... Staff swearing up and down she refunded me but it hasn't reflected on my statement. They tried to sell me a room with a single king bed that wasn't cleaned looked like someone just checked out out of the room. Between myself, wife and 13 year old daughter they expect 3 people to sleep in 1 bed? Not happening. But charging me twice for a stay that I didn't reserve was even worse. Hotel itself looks to be in disrepair busted windows bubbling floor and ceiling tiles. Transiants hanging round at Motel next to this place. Super sus and sketchy location Not a family friendly establishment avoid at all cost there is better accommodations on the other side of Halls Ferry Rd.

Great service solid spot to stay at if your working the night shift at grand gulf. Front desk ladies always greeted us with a smile in the mornings.

Horrible. Hotel wreaked of weed, room and bathroom was filthy, and there were crushed up pills on the floor beside the night stand. Was a visible trap house. Would not recommend to anyone to stay here.

Also denied a refund so I had to go through my credit card company.

I have enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It was a place that I needed to stay when I was waiting for my home to be done. The front desk manager Dame was phenomenal. She works well with her customers making sure they have the best experience. If I have to choose another hotel again, it would be this one for sure. Thanks

The front desk attendant (Toy) was so sweet and polite and accommodated all my needs and answered all of my questions. She made me feel welcome but one worker I think her name was Dedra was soooooo rude I asked for more towels she told me her job is behind the desk only and proceeded to park her behind in the chair. As for the cleaning staff find new people that'll actually clean immediately they are a disgrace.

The front desk manager Dee was BEYOND a delight. Her personality was a breath of fresh air.

If she ever comes to Tyler, Texas we will take her to see her first ever donkey !!

Das absolut schlechteste Hotel in dem ich jemals war!!!

Diese total versüffte und runtergekomme Baracke ist mit Abstand das schlechteste Hotel wo ich in den letzten 10 Jahren übernachtet hatte (... und das waren weltweit sehr viele Hotels wie man meinem Profil entnehmen kann).

Angefangen beim Check In:
Die Rezeption war nicht besetzt und das kurz vor 18:00 Uhr, es gab weder eine Klingel noch sonst was wo man sich anmelden konnte, nach ca. 10 Min. hab ich versucht anzurufen im Hotel, das Telefon klingelte, aber keine hob ab. In der Zwischenzeit kamen schon weitere Gäste zum Check In.
Irgendwann nach ca. 30 Min. kam die Dame die für die Rezeption zuständig ist an; schien als hätte sie geschlafen, so sah sie jedenfalls und so schnell war auch die Reaktion. Wenn man demotiviertes Personal sehen möchte, dann ist man hier genau richtig.

Irgendwann hat es die Dame tatsächlich geschafft meine Reservierung zu finden und dann bekam ich endlich ein Zimmer. Leider musste ich das Zimmer umgehend tauschen, da es extrem nach Rauch gerochen hat, das bei einem Nichraucherhotel?

Das zweite Zimmer war dann rauchfrei, was aber auch schon das Einzigeste Positive an dem Hotel war. Sauberheit suchte man vergebens. Stattdessen war das Interieur total desaströs, die Lampenschirme waren krum, der Schreibtisch wackelte als hätte man den mehrfach schon durchs Zimmer geworfen, die Stoßleisten lagen teilweise auf dem Boden, naja der Boden war wie nicht anders zu erwarten ebenfalls nicht sauber, sondern vergleichbar mit einem Rastplatz an der Autobahn. Die Klimaanlage hatte wohl mal das Doppelte an Lamellen und auch das Bedienelement war auch mal sauber, wohl als man die neu eingebaut hat.
Da ich leider alternativlos war und um es wenigstens eine Nacht hier auszuhalten musste ich erst im nahegelegenen Walmart Desinfektionstücher kaufen und so eine einiger Maßen ertragbare Umgebung zu schaffen. Wie die weissen Tücher nachher aussahen kann man sich wohl denken.

Am nächsten Morgen ging das Desaster weiter, erst nach ca. 10 Min. kam warmes Wasser zum Duschen, den Fön suchte man dann aber anschliessend vergebens.

Laut Beschreibung ist ein Frühstücksbuffet inklusive. Ein Raum hierzu gab es, der war aber leer, also nicht nur die Tische sondern auch das was ein Buffet sein soll. Ausser Kaffee und Milch gab es noch Waffeln und Kellogs. Alles andere war leer, dafür waren die Möbel wie nicht anders zu erwarten auch defekt.
Der Automat für Saft war das Beste, da war ein Auslauf abgebrochen und lag sogar noch an der Maschine.
Man wollte es nicht glauben, aber eine Mitarbeiterin war sogar da, die aber nur mit sich selbst beschäftigt war, mit telefonieren und rauchen.

Ein Vergleich zu den Fotos im Internet und der Realität ist nicht zu glauben. Wenn man den Preis von über 100 $ betrachtet schläft man leichter im Schweinestall, da ist es nicht dreckiger.

Noch was Positives:
Das Bett war wenigstens sauber und die Handtücher.

Ich kann nur jedem raten hier nicht zu übernachten, besser man schläft in seinem Auto, spart Geld und es ist definitive sauberer.

I don’t typically expect a lot for the price and a rating of 7 on reviews. In fact I rarely write reviews. But, a tub faucet with a constant stream of at least 1/4”, a cracked toilet lid and a bathroom door that gets stuck opening because it drags the floor aren’t things that could be missed by staff. The desk table wobbled to the point of not feeling comfortable leaving things on it and the refrigerator wobbled so bad you hand to use two hands to open it. Breakfast included a waffle to put on a 6” plate, with only one fork in the area and the only other option was cereal. Spend a little more somewhere else!
