Red Roof Inn Santee

I’m a contractor that travels 5 days/week. My wife accidentally booked this hotel for 2 rooms, but was the wrong city. The hotel has refused a refund, even though I never checked in. I also called immediately after the reservation was made, so it’s not as if they didn’t have a chance to rebook the 2 rooms. Extremely Greedy foreign owners and management, and very poor customer service.

Great breakfast included and they honor service animals
Beds are really comfortable. I travel with my own pillow because usually pillows are smaller in size

The manager or owner is very rude possibly due to racism. I was given a dirty bed covered with dog hair. I complained and it was changed. The next day a maid took dirty towels and bathroom mat and didn't replace them. I called front desk the manager gave it to me with so much anger in his eyes. He is so rude and shouldn't have his position. Worst hotel I won't return.

Personality and attitude of check in person was terrible. Couldn’t communicate couldn’t answer questions asked. No one working could answer questions asked. Didn’t receive membership points or senior discount. Tried to ask checkin man his reply was no discounts. Before I even asked a question. No anti-slip pads in bathtub.

DO NOT STAY HERE! We could have slept in our vehicle, and it would have been cleaner and felt safer! We had a dog, the room stunk of cigarettes. The toilet seat was held on with one bolt. The shower shot out of the shower onto the wall, same with the spikot and onto the floor. The tub did not drain. The food was sanitation code questionable. Stay anywhere else other than here! There are other hotels close by and this is in a sketchy part of town.

Positive: Location Negative: Only person on The reception was not friendly. Did not even greet , or smile or acknowledge in any way. At time of checkout he did not even come out of his room ( a peek check out time). I left keys on the counter. Hot breakfast was not well stocked.

The room has a refrigerator or freezer microwave comfortable beds nice bathroom. There's a store and liquor store right beside it and places to eat around it so for that I would give it five stars for that alone

Positive: Location Negative: I slipped in the shower and smacked my had on the toilet. They need robber mats in shower. Very slippery. No one at front desk in early morning.

Stopped for the night on the way from NY to FL. Convenient location off I95.

The sheets on the bed were so stained and dirty that we ended up sleeping on top of the covers in our clothes. The bathroom door is too big and doesn't shut properly. The refrigerator had to be unplugged due to a loud clicking noise. You can hear every little noise going on around you, thankfully my dog was exhausted, and not up all night barking at them.

The stray cats were very friendly, but could use some medical attention.

Clean, quiet and friendly place to stay along I-95. However, I usually check Google Maps to motels when I am traveling and look for budget friendly places. The price met that, but I was charged $10 more than what Google maps had posted and I even asked for a military discount. Saw no discount on my bill.|There was a decent breakfast selection, but the coffee was luke-warm and had a strange taste to it. |In my room, the tub faucet was a couple of inches out from the wall and when I pulled the lever to activate the shower, water sprayed from the faucet into the hole in the wall the pipe protrudes from sending water into the wall. (Notified front desk.)|Close to name brand fast-food outlets but found them lacking in many ways. (Pizza hut had run out of personal pan pizza's by 8 pm! McDonalds not lit up, only 1 window open in drive through and long line of cars.)|I would stay here again if travelling, it wasn't a bad place. It was one of the better motels in the area, according to the Google Maps reviews I had read.

Red Roof Inn has been a favorite chain since my college days of traveling for SCSU track and field team. This Red Roof Inn understood my dilemma after my first reservation cancelled and I was able to get a room at the last minute. This location did have working wifi and amenities to keep me comfortable during my stay for Cross High School Class of 1994 30th Class Reunion. Thanks for the Southern hospitality and teamwork.

My room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Location off 95 perfect. I was traveling a long way and just wanted a place to sleep overnight. Bed looked new, comforter looked new and the room looked recently refurbished with luxury laminate and new bathroom fixtures. Great value for the money. I felt safe in the neighborhood. Continental breakfast was minimal, but appreciated nonetheless.

I spent 1 night at this hotel on my way to the south, I  have no complaints and recommend it and would stay there again, the room was clean and had a comfy bed and clean sheets and towels, they have free breakfast although I see it more as a refreshment than a breakfast but no complaint.

Stopped here on my way back from the beach, because my daughters were crying. I should’ve kept driving. Found bed bugs, there was a local selling drugs out of the hotel very obviously, the hotel looks NOTHING like the pictures and it was dirty looked like they didn’t even sweep it, the bathroom was gross. It was not worth the money.

Location is great, right off of I95. The guy at check in was super nice. There was an issue at check in and I had to scan my card twice. No problem. He said the machine was new, but they hadn't been able to work the bugs out in 3 months. Next morning around check out time, the cleaning lady is banging on my door to clean my room. I said no thank you. I was jet lagged and wanted to sleep. They kept banging on my door. I called the front desk and they tell me I've only paid for one night. I said no, there was a credit card machine issue and I paid for two. She goes to check the credit card slip that I guess I was supposed to sign. Nope, no slip. It was all electronic. She tells me to come down and pay for another night. So I did. She then tells me that the machine on the counter doesn't work properly. No kidding? You should probably remove it then! The next morning, well before check out time, they are banging on my door again, asking me if I am leaving??! Are you serious? This place is ridiculous. I packed and left. I've never had more horrible service. The bed was soft, but that's about the only good thing I've got to say. Definitely upgrade and stay at another hotel.

I was charged for a night at this hotel that I nor any of my family have ever stayed at and have called the hotel 4 times and always told me that I need to talk to the general manager, and he is NOT there and to call back later!!!! DON'T recommend anyone ever stay at this hotel EVER!!!

Clean room, breakfast 6-9:00AM.

TV was overly complicated, but the manager came to my room (twice) to get it back online

This is our go-to spot 2 times a year (Fall and Spring) for several years. We are snowbirds and have enjoyed all of our stays there.

Good clean friendly service what can I say but great place to lay your head on the go for the night

Very clean, very friendly staff. Red Roof Inn can be a hit or miss but this one is a jewel.

This is a nice hotel, we have visited several Red Rood Inn´s over the years and this is a really good one. It is clean, the bed is nice and the breakfast is okay. I wouldn´t mind coming back to this place again, if I needed a place to stay in the area.

Very comfortable bed. Very convienient location off the I95. We took a chance as surrounding hotels were fully booked and it was late. We were driving from Florida and going north so we needed a clean bathroom and a comfy bed which this inn provides. No luxury but sufficient for price offered

Clean room and comfortable bed. Just wish they had a better area to walk the dog, narrow row of grass that was very high.

Best price. Clean and Best Western a total rip off for a nights sleep traveling to Florida. I'm not buying a time share.

Unhygenic, unclean, dirty, rusty. Towels and sheets are stained. Sinks are clogged. Fridge make loud clock sound that wont stop all night and its hard to sleep. Bathroom door wont close. No soap in the showers. Bathroom sink is ready to fall apart. Bed makes loud spring noises when sat or laying on it. The chair is so damaged and look infested. I did not dared to shower and use the infested towels. Used my clothes to cover the bed while sleepiging.

When checkin the sketchy front desk lady grabbed the credit card from my hand and scanned it while I am refusing it. When i protested and refused, she started writing it down on a paper. I asked her to stop writing it and return my credit card. She ignored my repeated requests and still continued finishing writing all details of my card. I was told, i can checkin until they have card details stored. Interesting part is, i booked online using a credit card and they have my card on file for incidentals. I offered to swipe the card on the machine for incidentals. She lied saying that the card Inoffered to swipe dont match card on file. It looks like there is some scam going on. If you miuse my details, be ready for cops to showup and get sued. Finally the breakfast is a joke, looks disgusting. Run away from this place, the surroundings are very sketchy with drug deals.

This infested hotel needed to be shutdown and disinfect it and renovate it.

It's a Red Roof Inn. The room was clean, the grounds were clean and the person who checked us in was very nice. There's a minimal breakfast available in the morning. Dog friendly.

I read some reviews prior to reserving and I decided to try and I was not upset at all. Nice quiet town. And I hope I spelled this correctly but Sean checked us in and he was so very nice and respectful and talkative such a nice person. The rooms are very clean and the bedding is so comfortable. I would definitely stay here again especially being under $100 a night. Thank you for hosting us.

This hotel despite the location and exterior appearance was EXTREMELY clean. My friend and I were decidedly surprised to find such a clean room. There was some hot breakfast items which were also a surprise compared to other "lower-end" hotels. The room was a little drab but other than that our experience was great.

OK, its a Red Roof Inn along the interstate. It's not a luxury place.....but what it is, is a nice clean quiet place to stop on my journey from the Northeast to Florida. They are dog friendly, so that made it easy for me and my little buddy to have a nice quiet evening of rest for our next day of driving.

Clean room, comfortable bed. Limited amenities, but c'mon, what do we really need for a night's sleep? And no pest issues, which is always my biggest worry.

The sub $100 price is also nice.....

Though skeptical at first glance, I was overwhelmingly pleased with the room. Very clean and well kept. In fact, much better than an expensive room I just came from in Miami Beach. Will definitely book again on next trip.

I am rating this hotel not as a representation of all hotels, but compared to all low priced motels that will allow you to bring your pet. If that’s what you’re looking for, this place is perfect. No, it’s not the Ritz, but it’s clean, the people running it are nice, and they don’t charge extra for you to have a dog. What I appreciate it is that your dog can be a big dog and that’s OK. A lot of places want to charge you a $50 pet fee and they say the maximum size of your dog is 50 pounds. That doesn’t cover my big ol’ hound. If you have a big dog like me, and you want a clean room with a comfortable bed, this might be a place to stay when you’re on 95 cruising through SC. The room came with a good size fridge, there’s a microwave, a flatscreen TV, a bathroom that was clean that had plenty ‘o hot water and I took a great shower. The towels and sheets were clean. All for 100 bucks out the door on a Friday night in summer with the red roof inn discount by joining their points program. Breakfast is basic, but I was able to make myself a nice waffle, and there was milk, and there’s coffee, and they were bananas, so I was happy. I’m glad I stayed here. I would stay here again.

First off I looked online to book and had a couple of questions so I called the hotel front desk. Online was a price of $62.00 but the person on the phone said not to book online to come there for a better rate. So that is what we did. When we got there I was charged $89.90 and she said that the $62.00 with the other fees and taxes would be higher. I asked to have my room added to my account so we would get points and was told when we checked out to have them do it. But nobody came to the front when we checked out. So no receipt at all or anything.
Now about the room. We had to slam the door to get it to close. The sink faucet was loose and broken. The lamp and reading lamps next to the bed were broken and the reading lamps would not work. The ice container had a plastic bag full of water which was tied shut. There was a extension cord running to the outlet to hook get the light to work. The walls were cracked and plaster hanging. Then was told there was a breakfast. Which I checked out in the morning. There was some cold cereal, but the milk pitcher had dried milk stuck to it. The juice machine seem to be falling apart. The waffle batter did not have batter in it. But there was a pitcher with a broken spout on it and some batter in it that looked off putting. The packets of butter were old with most opening when you touched them. There were a few very small dried up pastries that look not day old but maybe week old. And three pieces of bread sealed in plastic. Some bananas that were not that good since that is all I tried since everything else looked disgusting.
Never in my life have I had as bad an experience in a motel and I don't know how these other reviews are showing such good reviews since they must have stayed at a different hotel. If Red Roof company was smart they would fix this dump or level it and build another one.
