The room was a dump. The bed was uncomfortable and had permanent indentations of previous guests, I kept rolling into the crevices. The pillows were a joke . No hair dryer or coffee pot in the room. A lot of unsavory characters staying there, yelling back and forth to each other late at night. The air conditioner was so loud I could not hear the TV nor could I sleep with it on. When I turned it on fan only, it sounded like a blender full of pennies. Definitely find someplace else to stay.

Red Roof is a great place to stay. The price is reasonable, and the rooms are clean. They took care of me right away when I asked for towels and fixed the shower head. I recommend this place.

The room was clean but poorly maintained. There was only 1 bath towel for 3 of us. The bed was comfortable but the air conditioning was very noisy. We had selected this motel for its location and price. We did not expect much, so we weren’t disappointed. We would choose some other motel if we stay in area again

The room was clean, hotel staff was polite and courteous. Seemed odd that there was a fridge and microwave/convection oven but no coffee maker. Coffee was available in the lobby at the other building. It was quiet at a reasonable hour even though the hotel appeared full.

Positive: Like being in a drug scene, while trying to check in (and they gave away 2 of our 4 rooms) there was an overdose and emergency vehicles. hearing fights, dogs barking and unsavory NOT a safe for families or anyone. Negative: EVERYTHING -UNSAFE, drug infested place. My kids and i were frightened to be there

Checked in to Red Roof inn mystic for an over night stay. Young lady at the check in was nice enough, but when we got into the room, used the bathroom and the toilet flooded, though it was just urine, we reported it to the front desk lady, she said there was no maintenance available. Which is understandable, so we got another room. Moved all our things into the other room and it had a strong smell of marijuana when we entered. We reported immediately to the front desk, we were told no other rooms available. At this point we were just content spraying some air freshener, which did help. Overall a frustrating night.

The first room I was given smelled intensely like marijuana. I was Immediately moved to a room with non working AC. The staff swapped the AC unit and during the night, the ceiling started leaking on me and my children from the bathroom. I requested To get my room refunded and they only transferred me to their partner hotel, Regency Inn. Red Roof Inn Mystic was absolutely awful and the room next to me was getting kicked out, all of their stuff on the sidewalk while security waited. The neighborhood seems unsafe. Completely not acceptable for vacation or family.

The beds are always clean, fresh fluffy pillows, nice clean towels, guests are required to sign in which is a peace of mind. The water is filtered and fresh! Whether traveling solo or with your family it’s a good place to book your next hotel room.

****UPDATE: We have recieved a form letter type "apology email", and they refunded the $16.xx for the, "safe fee". After reading down through other reviews from the six or so months for the same property-WE ARE DEFINATELY NOT THE ONLY PEOPLE WITH LEGITIMET COMPLAINTS-ALSO WITH NO OFFER OF COMPENSATION TO ANYONE-EVEN WHEN THIS PROPERTY WAS CLEARLY AT FAULT.****

This "hotel" is NOT worth the trip. Spend the extra and get a REAL hotel. The a/c barely worked; when reported to the front desk, someone came over and banged on it a few times, twisted the nob and said he couldn't fix it. The bathroom had NO ventilation what so ever. The tub drain was slow so you were standing in dirty water by the end of your shower. Upon arrival, we realized that, while there was 3 adults and 1 child, there was only ONE set of towel, washcloth and hand towel and the bathmat; I called the front desk and requested 3 more bath towels and wash clothes- only to be told that we could have 2 towels...
There was NO door hanger to put out that said "do not disturb", etc. Being private people we do not like strangers in our room-especially when we are not in the room. House keeping nocked on our door the very next morning- early-to come clean a room that hadn't even been occupied for 24 hours..!!! We had driven close to 500 miles to check in the afternoon before- there was NO NEED for the room to be cleaned!!
**we went to walmart and bought our own towels so we could shower-so at this point we didn't need towels.** I went to the office that day and told the front desk agent that we DID NOT WANT OR REQUIRE ANY MAID SERVICE DURING OUR STAY. He kindly took notes and wrote it in the shift log, WHILE I WAS THERE. The next day-more banging on the door about maid service..!?!! I told them no. They left. Cool. The following day we left early to meet with family- came back- THEY HAD COME INTO THE ROOM WHILE WE WERE OUT!!!! (Side note: when you are renting-even a hotel room-you, according to our Civil Rights- have the right to expectation of your privacy.) And yet- even after speaking with the front desk it occured EVERY MORNING. When I spoke to the "management" he informed me that WE SHOULD HAVE LET THE FRONT DESK KNOW WE DIDN'T HAVE A DOOR HANGER..!! I didn't realize that at this hotel its the rentors job to make sure their staff did their job. So- I guess its NOT managements job to make sure the staff are doing their job correctly.....
The pictures on the website for this.... "hotel"... do not depict what the room we got looked like. The internet pics show nice, clean rooms with working lights and an inviting atmosphere. What we got was dingy, dark and univiting room with very uncomfortable beds.
Also, we couldn't even open the window because it was violating fire codes by being screwed shut! The only way we could get fresh air in the room was to open the door to the parking lot which we couldn't do more than latching the safety lock and opening the door the whole inch or so that allowed for air.
We were also charged for a safe that was not even in our room, let alone used. They did remove those fees after I called, but when I reached out to the hotel-the manager was rude, and he was not letting go of even one cent beyond the $16.xx that they already refunded. THIS IS AN ONGOING FIGHT....
*****NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY!!!! SPEND A LITTLE EXTRA FOR YOUR OWN PEACE OF MIND AND COMFORT*****

This hotel is so comfortable to stay because there have neat and clean bedroom ad bathroom!

Don't do it! It's not worth the money you save by staying here. Rooms are cheap for a reason. Room reeked of smoke, the bed had impressions in them of all the people who slept in it before. The light was so dirty that it didn't illuminate the room at all. We checked out an hour after we checked in.

I was looking for a safe place to stay, I can say I felt safe enough to sleep there for a couple days because I had no other option. No mention of the $100 “damage deposit” at check in. My reservation was paid for and was supposed to be a king room with amenities. When I got to the room there was No fridge, No room phone, No microwave, No coffee maker and No room safe. The TV didn’t work and was told sorry that nothing could be done. When I walked into the room it reeked of stale cigarettes. ( this is especially annoying as a non smoker while being told they take an extra 100 deposit for just such a thing.) There was no sign for my door indicating the need for privacy. I work during the morning and chose tho pack all my things and take with me to work as there was no safe for my things. And no way to indicate privacy (although based on other reviews it may have been ignored anyway) best part about this place was its cheap (you get what you pay for) The house keeping staff I will say however did a fantastic job cleaning the room and turning over the bed. This hotel filled a need but I would not characterize it as a comfortable stay.

We checked in easily with no issues. When we got to the room it was open and some outside workers plugged their tools into the room. The receptionist fixed the issue quickly. Once in the room, there was a very strong smell of bleach. I sat on the bed and I realised my jeans had been bleached all over from the bed. The reception did not do anything to compensate my jeans that was more expensive than the room. They did gave us a complimentary room upgrade like they made us a favor. The new room is dirty, the bed is not comfortable and I am worried to touch anything to not have bleach all over me again.
The place is also far from everything.
Overall, very bad experience.

The lady working the front desk is horrible. She’s extremely rude, uses her phone way too much for someone who is supposed to be actually working the front desk, and dresses inappropriately. I had went to this location a few times and not once was I asked why I was there.. but my mother (who is a black woman) recently stayed at this location and the girl said “for safety reasons, I need to know why you’re staying here” unsure why that was asked, as if it’s any of her business. My mother was in between live in home care positions and needed somewhere to go for a night. Trash. The air conditioners leak and the showers barely work too!

Terrible terrible place do not stay , says nothing about having a deposit but then have to give up $100 and the bathroom door doesn't shut unless you push the lock in to shut it but then your locked in and what if your there alone safety concern. Main door didn't shut unless you again pushed the lock click in or push the handle down . Had do not disturb sign on door and still went into room while we were gone to give more towels . We checked out had been gone for two days and staying somewhere else and we get a call asking if we were checking out today and have to pay for today and yesterday stay which we didn't do . It's been three weeks and I still haven't gotten my deposit back I think they kept it for the stays they think we did for free .

I need my deposit back now or I'll be calling the health department and reporting the hotel for being unsafe and very scammy scammers

Positive: It was clean and the bed was comfortable. Negative: I had to post a one hundred dollar deposit and when we got into our room, there was a light on the wall with no lamp shade. No hair dryer, which the other Red Roof Motels do. No ice machine, apparently it was broken. The wash cloths were old and dingy.

Comfy bed, rude staff, keys for the door barely worked, our room was missing a mini fridge, charged us for literal dirt on and the sheet and floor. Will not be staying there again. Don’t recommend if your blue collar and have any type of dirt on your shoes or clothes. Shower gel and shampoo was nearly empty as well, as well as the hair dryer being broken!

I visited the Red Roof hotel on April 4, 2025 every time I’ve come here the front desk attendant Lubi Has been very accommodating, very pleasant, always smiling great customer service I stay here quite often. It’s a home away from home so I appreciate the hospitality.

I had the best experience at any hotel I've ever stayed at once again, I fortunately got to have Jaan as the person to help me, she is one of the nicest people I have ever met, and is truly a kind person that is always understanding and helpful and I'm gonna miss staying here again, and hope to be back as soon as possible and especially hope I get to see her again when I come back

Absolutely blew my mind with the cost and the service. For me, it was quiet, peaceful, the room was clean, the toilet was a bit slow but who cares? The shower fan didn’t work but is it that serious? Not sure if it was because it was a non smoking room. The fridge worked. There was coffee in my deluxe room. Two beds. A safe. I was happy and the AC worked. I asked for extra towels, I got extra towels. I asked for a blanket, they provided me with a blanket when the laundry was finished. Fantastic. Couldn’t ask for anything more. The freezer was working so my ice cream stayed frozen. Huge plus..

At first we had a room with nothing in it but the front desk lady ekta was super sweet and super fast to accommodate us and switch rooms and even check in to make sure we were satisfied with our stay! Appreciative of the fast service we got that turned our stay around for the better!

THERE'S A $100 DEPOSIT, IF YOU PAY CASH YOU GET IT BACK IN THE A.M. AFTER THEY CHECK YOUR ROOM, IF YOU PAY WITH CREDIT CARD TAKES 1-4 DAYS TO GET IT BACK..

THEY ARE ALL RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!

BEFORE LEAVING THE FRONT DESK AFTER CHECKING IN, I ASKED FOR TWO BATH TOWELS AND 2 HAND TOWELS, THE LADY AT THE FRONT DESK TRIED TO TELL ME BECAUSE THERE'S ONLY TWO PEOPLE IN THE ROOM EVERYONE GETS ONE TOWEL EACH (2 BATH TOWELS, 1 HAND TOWEL, 2 FACE CLOTHS, 1 BATH MATT) .. I SAID I NEVER HEARD OF THAT AT ANY HOTEL I'VE BEEN AT.. THEN SHE TOLD ME TO COME BACK DOWN IN 30 MINS.

MY HUSBAND GOES DOWN TO ASK FOR THOSE TOWELS, HE TRIED TO FIGHT ABOUT IT TOO, 30 MINUTES LATER HE BRINGS UP ONE BATH TOWEL...

WE TOOK A SHOWER, THAT EXTRA TOWEL WAS USED FOR THE WHOLE ENTIRE ROOM BECAUSE THE MAIN ROOM WHERE THE BEDS ARE WAS COMPLETELY SOAKED WITH WATER, WE HAD TO USE THE EXTRA TOWEL PLUS THE ONES WE USED FOR OUR SHOWER..

WHEN I ADDRESSED THE SAME LADY IN THE MORNING ABOUT THE TOWELS AND HOW I DIDN'T HAVE ANY EXTRA TOWELS FOR MY FACE BECAUSE I ENDED UP THROWING UP FOR 45 MINS BECAUSE ALL 3 BATH TOWELS AND THE HAND TOWEL ENDED UP FOR DRYING THE FLOOR!!

WHEN I TOLD HER THE WHOLE ROOM GOT SOAKED AND ALL THE TOWELS GOT USED FOR THE FOR FLOOR, SHE TOLD ME WE DIDN'T ASK YOU TO DO THAT,

I SAID WHY SO YOU CAN BILL ME FOR A MESSED UP FLOOR CAUSE OF ALL THAT WATER? I DON'T THINK SO..

SHE TOLD ME NOT COME BACK..

I'VE WORKED IN HOTEL BUSINESS FOR 15-20 YEARS, DOUBLE BEDS GET 4 BATH TOWELS, 2 HANDS TOWELS, 4 FACE CLOTHS). EVERY OTHER HOTEL I'VE BEEN TO MEET THEIR REQUIREMENTS.

DO NOT EXPECT EXTRA TOWELS YOU WILL NOT GET THEM!!!! AND WATCH OUT AFTER YOU TAKE SHOWERS IN THE MAIN ROOM WHERE THE BEDS ARE!!

AGAIN, ALL STAFF AND MANAGEMENT ARE ALL RIDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL!!

Room was very very clean and was the cheapest red roof I stayed in as well the code that I had for 20 percent off wasn’t working but they still horned it because I showed them I’m a member of apa that gives 20 percent off at red roof inn front desk person is very helpful and easy going because he didn’t have to honor it if he didn’t want to

Though a non smoking room it smelled of smoke I being a housekeeper understand that you cannot control that but they need to invest in a ozone machine and Zed air freshener and be very firm on charging the additional fee for folks who insist on smoking when they know better book a smoking room if you smoke and there is maybe 5 steps to the door to smoke outdoors so what if it's cold it's the price you pay for smoking the staff are awesome and attentive and room is clean.

There were definitely some signs of wear in the room and walking past the laundry machine room nearly made me faint from the smell of vaporized soap, but otherwise everything was great!

Thank you red roof, never let me down!!! Always had a great experience with all employees. I’ve had a situation where I couldn’t make all the funds to have a stay and had a great front desk employee “ Etka” to ensure me with a safe and positive stay. I highly suggest this hotel for anyone in need for stay. Thank you guys!!!
