Good clean room, no swimming pool, it was drained, but we wouldn't have used it anyway. There was another person staying there that played loud music until 2am.

Our room was great for our basic needs, a place to sleep after a long drive. The TV was receiving only one channel, the remote was defective. The toilet was clogged and would not flush and no one was available till morning to fix it. There was no plunger available or anything that I was able to use. I expected a lot more from RRI. Also, no way to charge phones. They only had regular outlets, and no USB connections.

It has roaches.....but it's 60ish a night the pools kinda uhm...nasty and not up an running the rooms are nice but yeah...cockroaches there breakfast consists of coffee and some assorted snacks kinda sucks :( but hey grabbed a moonpie and some wafers not a total loss ....the people however who work here are amazing also lastly u only get one very small trash can to a room or at least from what I've experienced definitely makes things a little more difficult as far as ordering any out foods there's a single trash can I've found outside of the room then that's it seen it full many times quickly bet it would help to have some bigger trash cans elsewhere js

Staff is nice & lobby is exceptionally clean. However rooms could be a lot cleaner & the breakfast could be more healthier than what they put out.

***** UPDATE***** others in my crew had a room infested with bed bugs.

Read all the reviews..and so far my only complaint was the filters on the ac/heater were black and covered. I just washed them in the tub, wiped off the front. No sign of the bugs reported. Fridge also made some noise but they offered to replace it.

Never in my life have I stayed at such a disgusting motel. The location is great, it’s right off the highway. We traveled with a small jack Russell, which they take, and that is always great when traveling. However, they put us down in the basement. Basically, the room was filthy, the beds were clean, although I was really concerned for creepy crawlies, and didn’t even change my clothes. There was urine on the floor in the bathroom. You can see the bright shiny sticky residue. It reeked of mold and as I was just finished recovering from Covid, it certainly did not help my coughing. The walls were peeling away, and it was generally disgusting. You have to turn the television on and off at the TV along with the volume, which is really inconvenient when trying to go to sleep or sitting in bed. The bed was terrible. Overall, I could give this zero stars.

Positive: Price and availability of rooms Negative: Roaches were in the room (#307); both dead and alive. Decided to leave a day prior to checking out because of this.

Cockroaches in room on the walls- didn’t even scurry or try to hide. Other small bugs in bathroom that I couldn’t identify. Smelled like a public toilet in the room. Scratches and paint scuffs along walls that had clearly been there for a while. Cigarette burns in the sheets. Y’all, don’t do it, just RUN! Also, front staff wasn’t even phased when I reported the bugs, straight faced just asked if I wanted a new room. Clearly this isn’t an isolated incident.

When we stayed there was cockroaches, curtains were messed up,and mold in the room. You can tell pool has not been used in years. Also the ice machine did not work you have to go to the front desk and get ice. Overall the room could have been cleaned a lot better .

Clerk at the desk was nice. Location was suitable close to 81. Had plenty of parking. But the rooms are quite nasty. Stains on the bedding. Floors need mopped terribly. Just basically everything was pretty gross in there. Low price wasn’t looking for much but a clean room would have been nice. Tv didn’t work.

This place is nasty and is a joke I will be going further with my case,

we had arrived in to the hotel on Friday morning at 1:00am, we had got to the desk with nobody to be found. After driving 9hrs and waiting to sleep, finally someone had checked me in. We got our bags and headed to our room. We stayed in 224 I believe. Right when we walked in we encountered a smell that was terrible.

Toilets didn’t work,
Beds had stains
And the worst of all was bugs. All kinds in the photos attached. As we left that morning at 6am I headed out and called the hotel at 8am Friday morning.

Stated the hotel needed to make adjustments and would not be staying my 2 more nights. Already booked and paid!

After the cc had processed for the 3 nights and I had got done with biz in that area I was charged the full amount even though we stayed 1 night of the 3.

After waiting on the manager for 2.5 weeks for a phone call back, he stated that there’s nothing he can do and he is not refunding the money.

So I called corporate, after multiple arguments with their office in OH I received a letter attached stating they are closing the case.

Well don’t worrie I will be filling complaints with the county and state on the way the situation was handeled also I will keep going further till I atleast get my 2 nights of money back.

I don’t think anyone should go through the experience I had, also don’t hesitate to email me if you as a customer have any questions because I will be 100 percent honest on what I had experienced.

I’ll be talking to you guys soon Red Roof.

The hotel is well located. However, the rooms are very dirty, so are the toilets, the material is old and not in a good shape (obviously not taken care of). I chose the hotel for the pool so my kids would have fun, but the pool was under construction. The TV didn't work either, etc. The floor was so dirty that our feet got black just by walking around.

I’m beginning to like motor courts for accessibility. You park right at the door. No long halls or elevators to maneuver. Red Roof is such a place, but it has seen better days. Upon checking in I made a discovery. When you go through a third party your type of room is not guaranteed. However the clerk was able to get us an accessible room. The accessibility part was awesome! Plenty of space, wide door openings, and a roll in shower. The room was clean, but It needs upkeep. Paint peeling off door facing. There was an outdoor pool that was dry and looked like it had not been used this decade.

This place has roaches. Very uncleaned rooms and no housekeeping. When you go to the office there's no person at the counter you have to use a phone just to reach someone. Then you're waiting over 10 minutes for anyone to arrive.

Unclean bedding.

You have people drinking and sitting on the steps, which makes it hard for a person like me with limited mobility to get by. Loud base cars just sit in the parking lot half the night blaring music. Lots of slamming doors.

The bathroom tub is slick as all get out.

We were traveling home during snow storm and needed to stop were very grateful the hotel was available. I would give the hotel a thumbs up and the man at the front desk friendly and let's know if we need anything let him know. Stay here again.

Bedbugs room 208. The staff were so kind, but the two rooms we were offered were awful. 209 had a cockroach on the bed and one bed dirty and slept in. They moved us to 208, and when I woke at 7a, I saw a bedbug on my husbands pillow, I hit it, and it exploded blood. My kids' bed was also infested. I took pictures. I systematically had each person give me their pj's in the bathroom and shower, while I gave clean clothes and we all didn't touch anything and got into the car. I told staff, they gave us large trash bags to put contaminated clothes, the staff were so kind and helpful. I would hope to get a refund, but shady owners make it impossible to ever ever get money back, so buyer beware.

Heat sucks, owner is nice and stays alert of anyone messing around the property which is reassuring. A bit expensive for staying weekly, no discount offered for long term stays ..

Worst experience in 45 years of travel. Booked hotel and was told the pool would be open during our visit. It was not and still is not. Room was ditry, mould in bathroom around toilet and tub. Spoke to from desk lady who constanlty lied to us. Lights did not work properly in the room and it took several request to get someone to come who had no clue what he was doing. Spoke to hotel owner and he was usless. I want a refund for my stay but not responce from the Inn or corpoate. Save your money and sleep in your car. This place is a real dump run by dishonerable peopl. Even head office has nt responded and this is over a year ago with multiple emails sent. Shameful and disgraceful.

Ash was on the floor in non smoking room had to call the front desk to report it, trash and dirt in multiple drawers, stains on bedding and towels, dirty microwave. The railing preventing people from falling was so wobbly someone is going to get hurt. Told the front desk and made a complaint about the room to corporate via email and wouldn't you know no response.

1st room had cigarette burns on the sheets and dried blood on the cover. Asked for new sheets and got new room instead. Woken at 10:30 by someone trying to get into room. Told them they had wrong room. Manager comes to door demanding that I come out of the room. Same guy who moved us into the room. I will never stay at a Red Roof Inn again. 2 stars is generous but all the hotels in Marion VA have gone downhill since COVID. Bed &Breakfast is your only option, but be prepared to pay for it.

maybe I expected to much..like cleanliness, my first impression. The bathroom door had some type of stains on both sides of door that I took a wash cloth and wiped off myself, bathroom itself needs some work, floors needed a good scrub, for non smoking room, it smelled..pool is not useable, and looks like it hasn't been for awhile was told it's being repaired.. wish whomever owns the red roof inn franchise would do some inspection and see if the rooms are up to their standards..if it were my business, I know I would, that's like your reputation and with the rates, especially weekend rates.. never again, ya'll could do better!

Just a quick edit, after reading some of the reviews (my mistake) a lot of apologies for not meeting public standards with the promise to improve seems to have fallen on deaf ears..again, ya'll could do better!

Convenient off I-81 and a spacious king room at a very affordable price and pet friendly BUT if I didn’t have my service dog with me I would not have felt safe staying here as a single woman traveling on her own, drive another 15-20 minutes there are other places to stay. Pool is not useable. Front desk was a pleasant young man not too chatty but friendly enough.

Well let me start the pool you could not use the ice makers they were both broke the air conditioner from the above room dripped water for 4 days before maintenance came in and i had to use towels to keep the water cleaned up the lobby smelled so musty Ryan the maintenance man should seek another place to work where does not have to deal with the public he is rude and i think when your told good morning you should say more then yeah the only good thing about our stay was the house keeper Briggette Thomas she was very nice and polite our room was clean and she always ask if we needed anything we should have more people like this she always had a smile on her face oh and we payed for a smoking when We made our reservations back on Nov 2 2022 and they told use their was none when we arrived for our stay

During a road trip with my partner, child, and dog, we arrived in the hotel lobby at 8:54 pm after driving since 1:30 am. We found an empty lobby without a soul in sight. A handwritten sign on the desk read, "BE BACK IN 15 MINS 8:57pm" - a message seemingly posted after our arrival. Our child and dog waited in the car as we anticipated the return of the staff.

By 9:09 pm, 15 minutes later, no one had shown up. At 9:12 pm, 15 minutes after the time indicated on the sign, we were still waiting. Eventually, a man arrived at the front desk, speaking inaudibly with a seemingly indifferent demeanor. Despite informing him that I couldn't hear him, he continued to mumble, showing clear annoyance.

Strangely, he never inquired about our preference for a non-smoking room. After a tedious ten-minute process, we finally received a room key. Upon arrival at our room, we were greeted by a man smoking right outside our door.

Upon entering the room, the lights flickered and made sounds but eventually worked. The room itself was spacious and clean although the bathroom had no fan and the sink was broken (but worked.) Our stay was brief as we only needed a few hours of rest before hitting the road again. However, the check-in experience tainted our night and second half of the 30+ hour drive.

I've stayed at hotels with lesser facilities, but none have matched the poor service we encountered here.

Had a horrible start as soon as we pulled up to attempt to check in. There was nobody at the front desk. We rang the doorbell multiple times with no answer. The hotel phone number was called again no answer. We attempted to check in for at least 15 minutes without seeing a single soul. After being on the phone with a booking agent for the company did we finally find a worker who was now out front smoking looking unkempt. Even the worker on the phone could not reach the employee for the 8 minutes I spent on the phone with her. Terrible service.
The rooms are sub par. Flooring is nice and new looking, but yet the tub spicket is out of the wall.
The pool is half drained. Due to the standing water left behind there is a foul odor that can be smelled up on the 3rd floor.
Location is iffy. Doesn't look like the best neighborhood.

My main issue was they advertised as having a pool. Both online and on their sign. Their pool was empty and not in service. Update advertisements if amenities are not available.

This was once a really nice hotel, it has a lot of potential. The pool is dried up and not in use anymore. The location is great, the staff were nice, rooms were surface clean but could use a deep clean like baseboards, walls, nooks and crannies in the bathroom. It is pet friendly and our room didn't stink like a wet dog like some places. Over all a good night's sleep, watch the stairs from the second floor to the ground floor outside by the pool, I fell down the last 5 stairs as the concrete step was chipped and not at a great angle. I am fine just not the best way to start a morning with a busted knee. Price for stay was good for this hotel.

On a motrocycle trip with several others this past summer. Rooms were dirty; some smelled from smoke; pool was not operational even though we were told it was at time of booking; clerk at front desk could not keep her lies staight. Nothing good could be said of this place.A terrible experience. Emailed management 3 times and had no response. Sleep in your car and you will have a better experience.

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
