This place had 4 stars, so I was honestly expecting better, but it was possibly one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. When you sit down on the mattress, you sink all the way down to the bedframe. We pulled back all the sheets and mattress covers because I was so concerned about bedbugs. It looks like they tried to paint the plastic shower surround with house paint and there was mold on the ceiling. There was also a decent amount of hair in the bathtub. The office chair had vinyl peeling off and the phone was taped together. We were in town for the MLB Speedway Classic, so there was nothing else available or we would have definitely gone somewhere else. I don’t know how this hotel has such good reviews.

Although the customer service during my stay was good, I was very disappointed to return home and discover multiple bed bug bites. I contacted corporate the following day and provided photo evidence, only to be informed that the property is independently owned.

When I called the hotel directly to report the issue, I was asked, “Did you mention this at checkout?” — which came across as dismissive. Bed bug bites often don’t appear until hours later, so expecting a report at checkout is not realistic.

I’ve never had an issue like this before or experienced bed bugs in any hotel I’ve stayed at, so this was extremely unsettling. To be sure of what I was dealing with, I went to see a doctor, who confirmed that these were in fact bed bug bites.

Given the circumstances, the confirmed medical diagnosis, and the discomfort I’ve experienced, I believe a refund is absolutely warranted. I hope the hotel takes this matter seriously and properly inspects and treats the room to protect future guests.

The manager was friendly and phoned our room to make sure that everything was satisfactory. Our room was clean and the location is quiet. Black out curtains, mini fridge, microwave, ironing board, iron, digital AC unit, full length wall mirror, blow dryer in our room. No problems with Wi-Fi or TV. Would book again if in this area.

This location claims to be pet/dog friendly but is NOT!! They charged a DAMAGE fee for dog hair in the room!

Awful experience all around- they didn’t have a room ready for me when I tried to check in about an hour after the check in time. They said they wanted to put me on the first floor because of my dog, but didn’t have a room ready despite marking that I was bringing my pet in the reservation. I accommodated the additional wait so they could clean a room, went to grab dinner and came back.
Then, was woken up multiple times throughout the night by the phone in the room loudly ringing, after their quiet hours! I called the front desk and was told they were experiencing technical difficulties with their phones. No solution was offered. Being woken up by a loud phone multiple times is not exactly restful sleep or a peaceful experience. I informed the front desk at checkout and just got a “sorry.” I was going to leave it as just an annoying experience, did not even ask for any reduction/compensation/refund on the room for the inconvenience. Now, over a week later since I still hadn’t gotten the damage deposit refunded, I called the hotel and was told they would not be refunding me because of dog hair. I declared my dog at check in, and told them he was a large black dog. Common sense is that if there’s a black dog in the room, that there will be some black dog hair on the sheets. They repeatedly refused to refund the $50 damage fee. For hair! My dog didn’t chew any furniture, break anything, he left HAIR! How are you a pet friendly location that considered dog hair/shedding as DAMAGE?! Sounds to me like they don’t want to have to wash sheets in between guests- yuck!
I called the main red roof line and was just referred to guest relations. Talked to relations and they said they cannot override the billing as each location is responsible for their own billing. They called the hotel, and the management told guest relations the same thing, that they wouldn’t refund the fee. The guest relations basically told me that all they could do was file a complain with red roof management, which I asked them to move forward on. Absolute joke of a “pet friendly” hotel!
Will never stay here again, and probably will never stay at any red roof again either!

Really nice man at the front desk! Affordable but doesn’t feel like a grunge-y motel. Definitely a safe and clean place to stay when looking for a quick night upon travels!

I was hired in as a front desk agent. I personally watched the owner Dave redo a reservation with a 15% AAA discount and he redid the reservation and put a completely different price with the 15% AAA discount with made the price for the room more and he told me and I quote " only the owner can do this and don't tell anyone that he dis this. I got my wife a job there as a housekeeper and Dave the owner ended up having me as a housekeeper as well. Between me, my wife, and Dave the owner we 3 had a verbal contract that me and my wife would get paid $6.50 per room. He ended up paying my wife under the table and the 2 checks that I received I could not cash and Dave the owner refused to reissue both of my checks. I turned Dave the owner into the Labor Board and the BBB.

I was using booking.com to find a decent hotel while I make my way to Northern Virginia and came across The Red Roof Inn in Bristol Va to take a break from the long drive. I used booking.com and accidentally chose the wrong dates we would arrive. Dave the owner explained to me of the mistake and helped me fix what could have been a nightmare with the stay and cancellation fee. He really related to my issue and was here to help us. The room is very clean and comfortable. We also had a little puppy that stayed with us and had no pet fee for him. 10/10 will definitely recommend and will be back. Thanks Dave you’re the best!

The last ice storm made us stop while traveling because of horrible road conditions. Booked a room online and was greeted by a nice man to check us in. The building is certainly dated and 1st floor rooms are in the basement of a hill area. 5 steps down. Hard for handicapped. Noticed 2 strange men in parking lot watching us unpack. One followed us down the hallway and slowly went into another room. Pretty Creepy. Room was clean and nice thankfully, and had a wall Ac/ heat unit.place was quiet, and were glad to be off the road. Price was ok, no breakfast morning treats, just the small in room coffee make your own.Room access cards stopped working after 1st try, I will not be staying there again. There are better places.

Always a great location to stay at. The prices are affordable, spacious parking lot, also very great hospitality and helpful owners/workers. My partner and I are always happy to come to this location as there is many stores and restaurants nearby which is convenient.
This Red Roof location always feels safe when it comes to the parking lot and rooms.
The rooms are clean and also smell clean, the beds are incredibly comfortable and clean as well.
Overall this Red Roof is a great location, very accommodating and friendly. Thank you David for all your generosity and kindness!

Do not stay. Hotel charged me $50 extra for blood stains that were on the sheets when we arrived. When I called and explained, they denied it and blamed me.
There was also a cockroach in our room. Less than no frills, the bath towels were thin and very worn

Our recent stay at the red roof in Bristol,Va was horrible. The tub didn’t drain properly nor did the sink, the bed was very uncomfortable and the room couldn’t get cold enough. There are weak floor boards that bow when walked on. The front desk insulted me repeatedly to my husband upon the first meet. The front desk isn’t constantly manned so you have to wait for them to come in from outside. They have a camera in the front lobby they watch from their cars. They did clean the linens when requested and replaced the towels daily.

This is an older hotel. The beds are horrible. They had sunken places in them like the mattress was broken. I had to sleep to opposite way on the edge and still was very uncomfortable. It was loud and the people beside us had a hound and small terrier that barked during the night and early morning. I did not feel safe in this hotel at all. There is no breakfast. The man who checked me is was nice. We will never stay in this red roof again. I've been in others that were very nicely kept. This was NOT at all what we paid for.

You get what you pay for. Not my style for sure. Roadside motel feel with old, squeaky beds that long ago lost their bounce and support. Two sad flat pillows. Comfort, cleanliness and safety are the top priorities but I also needed something pet friendly and on my route. It’s right by the interstate so easy to get to but I didn’t feel great leaving my vehicle in the parking lot. It was well lit and I saw some cameras so those are pluses. Only 3 of us were at the hotel. The room seemed clean, no complaints there but there was a noticeable smell. Maybe just old. Like that there was no carpet.

Just can’t get over the awful bed. My first and last stay at red roof. This one got good reviews so figured I’d give it a shot.

If you don’t mind an old hard bed (which many don’t seem to care), then sure, check it out.

This was a perfect place for our needs. Located conveniently near the interstate, restaurants, museums and the new Hard Rock Casino. Very friendly owner / manager team. Well maintained. Room was clean with appropriate furnishings. Not a 5* location so they didn’t get 5. But nothing wrong with a basic room at affordable rate when you just want to sleep and shower! Ice machine works, ac unit functions as did tv! A request for extra towels was promptly accommodated. Coffee maker in room as well as coffee each morning in lobby. It has ample parking and is an inside hallway property. If we return to the area we might request a room on the parking lot side of the building. While not terrible - yes some street noise. May be worse on the back from slamming doors.
We stay in pet free rooms.

I will never stay here again and I travel A LOT especially with my children (fur babies) who are elderly, very clean and spoiled and don't make a peep. Service horrible, to get one extra towels was insane. A tissue box was left in room with one tissue, I thought was for show. 2 very skimpy pillows to a bed. So if you have health issues and need a real pillow definitely not the place. Didn't want to ask for anything because the attitude you got was not good. They accept pets, no poop bags, I did not see designated spot to walk babies. I like to clean up after mine, unfortunately running late forgot our bags. I can't even say you get what you pay for, very overpriced for what you get. Judging by parking lot a lot of people feel same way. Don't say you were not warned

We stayed two nights here and were very satisfied with our stay. The check in was quick and easy. The managers were super friendly and fun to talk to. Our room was fine, especially for the price. We did experience one cleanliness issue but that was resolved quickly and without hassle. I would definitely recommend this place!

We stayed here for 2 nights after power went out in our home due to hurricane Milton. Overall, our stay was good. Room had some wear/tear but was clean. The A/C unit in our first room was noisy. What was disappointing is that a $50 charge for incidentals (in addition to the room charge) was posted to my CC on the first night. What incidentals? It took a call to the front desk (and 5 business days) for the charge to be taken off my CC.

They claim to be pet friendly, and while you can have pets, they will not give your deposit back due to dog hair. It would be understandable if they offered a vacuum of some sort to get it up, but they don’t. The room stunk when we got there, had to pick up an air freshener to be able to stand it. Rooms are some of the smallest I’ve ever seen, I’ve stayed in single bed rooms that are bigger. Owners are less than professional as well. Would not stay there again if my life depended on it. By looking at the reviews they seem to be scrubbed, so if you see this head my warning.

I recently stayed at the Red Roof Inn in Bristol, and while my experience was generally positive, there are a few things to note.

Safety: The motel is located right by the road, which made me initially concerned about the safety of my car. However, the inside of the motel felt secure, and I didn’t encounter any issues during my stay.

Units: Some of the facilities, like the AC unit, were old and rusty, and there were other signs of wear and tear. My AC wasn’t working, and only the fan was functioning. They had just experienced Hurricane Helene, and the electricity was out for two days, which might have been the cause. That said, it’s clear they are trying their best to maintain the property and keep everything clean.

Rooms: The rooms themselves were clean and felt safe, which is always a big plus.

Google Pictures: The pictures on Google are accurate, though it’s worth noting that filters and saturation seem to have been added, making the place look slightly more polished than in reality.

Quality: Overall, the quality was okay. It’s not exceptional, but for the price, it was a decent place to stay.

This is our second year staying here after attending a Bristol race. The room was simple, clean, and comfortable. It is only 20 minutes from the track, which is very convenient after a long day. The gentleman at the desk when we checked in was polite and friendly, as was the lady there when we checked out. This will be our stop for as long as we go to Bristol

This Red Roof is amazingly clean. We come quite often while working. We will go out of our way to come here. I have not one thing bad to say. The rooms are always clean and comfortable. I just love the manager and his wife. They are always so friendly. I’m big on customer service and they give it top notch. If something isn’t quite to your liking just go let them know. They are always accommodating. It’s like visiting friends or family when we stop by. And did I mention the rooms are always clean!

Pricing questions
1. What is the average roof replacement cost for a residential home?
+-

The average roof replacement cost for a residential home typically ranges from $7,000 to $15,000, depending on factors such as roof size, chosen materials, roof pitch, and labor rates in your area. Premium materials or complex designs may increase the price.

2. How much does it usually cost to replace the roof of a commercial building?

The cost to replace the roof of a commercial building typically ranges from $5 to $12 per square foot, depending on several factors such as roof size, material, labor rates, building type, and local code requirements.

3. What factors affect the overall roof repair cost?
+-

Several factors influence roof repair cost, including the extent of the damage, roof accessibility, material type, labor costs, and whether it’s a general repair or an emergency fix. Minor repairs can start around $150–$400, while major repairs may exceed $1,500.

4. What is the typical roof leak repair cost, and how is it calculated?

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?
+-

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
