Rebel Roofer

We recently used Google to get several quotes to help with our very very hot convert attic bedroom here in our house in Arlington. While insulated, the eaves and enclosed attic-top basically became an oven that our mini-split cannot cool down.

We had three quotes and decided to go with Rebel Roofer. They were the only ones to take a look at the roof and did an in-depth inspection of the eaves (since I had a hole in the wall to look myself). They suggested a smart venting system with an optional fan. I decided against the fan part and just used the smart vent/ridge vent combo.

They followed up quickly, gave a comprehensive quote at a fair price. They explained what needed to be done and amazingly came and did the job within 3 business days of me accepting the quote.

The guys working on the roof who super friendly and professional, did a great job and cleaned up afterwards. Raphael who was the boss who came for the quote, was there several times during the day to check on proceedings and showed me what they had done. They actually did more than was promised by adding an additional smart vent on the far side so that was a really nice surprise.

Proof is in the pudding as they say and the change is incredible. I have been measuring the temperatures with a smart thermometer. See attached photo. I marked when they finished the install and while it cooled down that night also because of a storm, today it was 85 and much cooler upstairs than the previous days. (The double bump each day is because at night from 7-10 roughly we had a second rollaway AC to help but it is too loud to keep when we sleep.)

I give these guys 5 out of 5. They did everything right and most importantly, their recommendation and installation has worked. Nothing like having a cooler room to sleep in. No More Skylight Leak – Finally!

I’d been dealing with a leak around my skylight for a while, and other roofers just kept patching it without really fixing the problem. Rebel Roofer was different. Rafael came out, took his time inspecting everything, and explained that the flashing was the issue — and that using the original Velux flashing kit really matters.

They didn’t cut corners. They removed the old materials, installed the proper Velux flashing, and sealed everything up right. You could tell they actually cared about doing a solid job.

It’s rained hard a few times since — not a single leak. I’m super relieved and really glad I went with them. Highly recommend Rebel Roofer if your skylight is leaking or needs attention.

The 20 years old vinyl siding on our house in Rockville, MD needed to be updated due to weathering and damage. We decided to have new siding installed with Rebel Roofer. It was a great decision at the right moment. We installed Everlasting composite siding on our old house because of its durability. Now, our old house looks new! The crew did an amazing job. They were on time and very professional.

We also added attic ventilation. Our old vent did not circulate air up and out of the house, and the second floor was always much hotter than the first floor, no matter the season. I didn’t even realize how much of a difference proper ventilation makes until now. They explained everything clearly.
