Rareforms was our general contractor for the construction of our Bright Built designed net-zero high performance modular home. Greg was a great resource for help with making choices that embodied our low embedded carbon, sustainable, and local sourcing goals. His commitment to sustainability, low carbon footprint, and local sourcing can even be found in the parts of our home that we can’t see. His design work on our garage and porches was superb. He and his team demonstrated outstanding carpentry expertise and attention to detail in their work.

Rareforms successfully managed time critical events and unexpected problems that could have seriously derailed our project. Our project was completed within budget. Greg and his team are easy to work with and maintained great communications with us throughout the project.

Greg Bossie was involved through every step of the process of our year long project, from designing plans to managing contractors to on-the-ground carpentry. He smoothly navigated shipping delays and materials shortage, as well as keeping safe Covid precautions with all team members. Greg was dependably on-site to solve any unexpected issues that inevitably came up when dealing with an old home. We loved uncovering and piecing together our home’s history with him as we took down walls and crumbly beams. But most of all we appreciated how he reused as many materials as possible from the existing structure and blended the new hempcrete addition to the old historic main section so beautifully and thoughtfully.

We worked with Greg Bossie and the staff at Rare Forms in 2022. It was very easy working with Greg and his team. We are exceedingly pleased with the results.

Our project was to adapt a portion of our 1884 barn to be an energy efficient, climate controlled space (rather than a drafty old barn). We also wanted the rest of the barn to retain its charm and character.

It was very easy working with Greg. From the design phase and throughout the construction phase, he went over options with us, taking the time to explain the choices to us and he made great recommendations. Communication with us throughout the project was very good, we were kept well apprised of the status of the project. The crew did an excellent job creating the space, carefully paying attention to details so the space is very well sealed against air leaks. And the space looks amazing, again thanks to their attention to detail and finishing expertise. The bills were very detailed and easy to understand too. We would not hesitate to Rare Forms again for a future project.
