As a long-time advocate for alternative energy sources, I had always dreamed of living in a home powered by the sun. Growing up, I was fascinated by the simplicity of a portable solar radio that could be powered by the sun's rays or a hand crank. ProVision Solar listened to my childhood aspirations and helped turn them into a reality, making my adult dreams a tangible possibility.

From the outset, ProVision Solar distinguished themselves from other solar installers I encountered. Their representative took the time to explain complex concepts in layman's terms, listened to my specific needs, and collaborated with their team to design and install a system tailored to my requirements. I had a clear vision for my solar-powered home: I wanted to avoid long-term contracts that would tie me to another company's profits, utilize my solar panels to shade my lanai, and have a system capable of powering my home and two electric vehicles.

These three features seemed like a reasonable request, but ultimately eliminated 99% of my potential contractors from consideration. First, I wanted to avoid entering into a long-term contract that would obligate future homeowners to the terms of my solar panel contract and also ensuring that the excess energy I generated would not benefit another company financially. Secondly, I sought to utilize the panels structurally to provide shade for my lanai. However, my initial vision was derailed by a poor choice in a structural engineer company, which abandoned my project after six months, citing its size as too small and their workload too great. Then the abrupt shift in the presidential administration's stance on alternative energy forced a change in plans for the original solar panel installation. In an effort to capitalize on the remaining energy incentives under the previous administration, the decision was made to expedite the installation process. ProVision Solar demonstrated flexibility by redesigning the system as a ground-mounted setup and accommodating a last-minute request for a weed barrier installation. Thirdly, I wanted a bigger system than my electric bill warranted. ProVision listened to my desires and need to have a system from which I could power my home and 2 new electric vehicles. Other solar installers were only willing to build a system to cover my current electric bill. Which by the way apparently was too low for them to even give me a follow up call.

The outcome of this collaboration over the last 2 years has been rewarding, amicable, and financially beneficial. I take full responsibility and acknowledge that it was my indecisiveness that caused this project to be delayed. BUT, I now have 32 panels, 2 batteries, can sell my house without any contractual obligations to the new owners, and even though it doesn’t amount to much, I am directly profiting from selling the excess energy my system produces to the grid.

What sets ProVision apart from other solar installers is their willingness to listen to and cater to the customer's needs. It was about six months from contract signing to installation. Installation happened when they promised and they showed up every day with a full crew until it was complete. We had a couple of issues that needed fixing and they showed up the very next morning and fixed it. The system has been operating now for about a month and works beautifully. These folks do what they say they will do and customer satisfaction is obviously a priority for every single person on their staff. I am happy with the product, their service and mostly their very high level of integrity. It’s a rare pleasure these days and very comforting when you’re dealing with such a large investment and such an important part of our home’s functioning.

I am 100% satisfied with ProVision Solar. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and very professional, from sales to the project management and the installation crew. I have talked to several different solar companies and choose to go with ProVision, I have no regrets. They took care of all the paperwork with HECO and the county. We were very please with the work and crews who came to our home for this system replacement. Panels continue slowly go bad ( past warranty) and it was the right time for a replacement. As we had a savings payback of 3.5 years on the first system, because of small rebates, we anticipate a bit longer savings payback of probably 7 years. ProVision handled all permitting and are in the process of arranging all inspections. Again, we ate pleased with the results. Also, pricing was fair and competitive. A primary reason to go with ProVision this time is because they are a long time Big Island business. That means they are right here if serving is required. Thank you ProVision

We contracted with Provision Solar after multiple positive reviews from friends. From start to finish they were exceptionally professional, from our project leader managing expectations about the permit process to the crew installing panels, battery and conduit on the house. There was great communication from the entire team. They handled all of the coordination with HELCO and the County. And the physical install work was very well done. Highly recommended. We would definitely do it all over again.

Provision was excellent to work with and flexible with scheduling and even a last-minute change in the placement of the batteries. The inspections and permits all went smoothly and we've been reaping the benefits ever since it was powered on. I also had a very steep roof with lots of skylights so this was not a straightforward project. I would use them again (and plan to in a few years on another property)!

The Provision team has been very responsive, helpful, and willing to make explanations. We have greatly appreciated their company. They were prompt in doing the work, letting us know when they were coming. Any delays for permitting were the responsibility of the electric company, the county, and the state. Let me just say this company is amazing! FROM our rep La'akea to the entire team, just amazing during the entirety of this process. I did a bunch of research before selecting a solar installer. I couldn’t be happier with my decision to go with provision. Their long history in Hilo made me comfortable with them originally. My install was done by the Ghost Crew lead by Kekoa. Jaden and Elijah handled the rooftop work in a safe a professional way. I’m old so not sure if my previous review went through. But in a nutshell, the people from initially figuring out my particular needs (no upsales) to pre-installation, to permits, installing to programing of app and usage were cordial and understanding of my “fears” and lack of knowledge. Most importantly when I’ve had questions about the product they still answer my questions and if necessary send one of their people out to help me. I use people because they are a step above employees they care.

Love my new system. I already had 2 KumuKit installs and needed more but also got Tesla batteries. Expensive purchase but for the long term, much needed. ASB's clean energy loan for the win. But the BIG WIN here is the customer service thanks to COURTNEY TANAKA. Throughout the entire process, any bumps were immediately addressed by Courtney. She is absolutely amazing. Even after my install, if I have a question, she responds almost immediately and takes any and all action necessary to rectify your issue. AMAZING service thanks to Courtney. There were some hiccup's with the install but the co-owner cared and fixed the issue's. I feel they will take care of us in the long run, so all in all I am feeling positive about our purchase and look forward to no electric bills in the future.

Had (2) Tesla batteries installed to an existing solar system at my home in Kona, Hawaii. I cannot say enough good things about ProVision Solar company out of Hilo, Hawaii. They took care of everything from permitting to installation and support and were so helpful and professional along the way. Houston and his crew were the most impressive group of workers we’ve ever had here. Would highly recommend them to anyone thinking of installing any type of solar system!

The entire team at Provision Solar was always pleasant during interactions (phone or in-person), provided thorough information/answers to questions, and provided timely responses to questions or install/service calls. When initially investigating adding additional PV generation and battery backup to our existing PV system I engaged a different vendor, but quickly determined Provision had far superior customer satisfaction and reputation locally. Provision easily accommodated adding the electrical service for an EV charger to the install and kept me updated regarding all permit, equipment ordering/arrival, install, and inspection schedules. As an example of attentive customer service, Provision called several weeks before the expected panel install, stating a slot had opened up in the schedule, if we were able to allow the install to be moved up. We gladly accepted the change and it resulted in our system being fully operational (saving us money) about a month earlier than the original schedule. I would highly recommend Provision for any of your solar energy needs.

Recently had a residential system installed at our house using 17 panels and a Tesla Powerwall, could not be happier with the system and overall experience. It took a few months from start to finish but that’s to be expected given the circumstances of 2021 and we were kept informed every step of the way. The system powers our whole house, charges our Tesla battery generator and electric vehicle, and sends power back to the grid. If on Big Island, I would totally recommend this company to get you exactly what you want for solar. The crew was very friendly and experienced during the whole process. One small complaint is the interior wall of our garage was scratched in multiple spots from the hardware installation and will need to be repainted by us since it was left as is. Not enough to knock a star off but maybe spend a little extra time repairing the walls around the hardware. End of the day, thank you, we love it, and 100% recommend using them.

ProVision Solar is the first choice if you are looking for a Solar installer on the Big Island. Professional, customer friendly, work was performed in time as estimated. They took care of all permits and inspections. The most we had to do is to sign the contract. The price we paid was in line with the contract.

The entire process was completed in approximate 90-120 days. The last 30 days was due to the electric utilities waiting for a new cycle to install the meter. I am extremely satisfied with how well I was informed every step and the layout of the equipment. Customer service is above and beyond.

We selected ProVision Solar after an extensive review of options followed by 5 proposals. All were competetive on price, experience, appraoch to design and installation, etc. We had a number of good choices. ProVision exceeded our expectations.on all dimensions. Tools for modeling system designs, ROI, expected performance metrics, were excellent and well supplemented by Charlie Fasano, our sales rep who stayed in touch throughout the project. I cannot identify a single needed improvement in project management, communications with us and coordination among the many agencies,, contractors and suppliers. We were not in Hawaii due to COVID (residence on mainland) however, ongoing reports and photos made the difference. Every staff member we encountered was knowledgeable and helpful, focused on satisfying the client. In addition to Charlie, Emily Ebert project management capabilities were top notch and a joy to deal with.

My solar was installed earlier this year. Even on heavy rain days it pulls a decent amount of power. I save about $100 on my power bill every month now. There were some equipment issues to deal with but the team was very responsive to addressing them and making sure my system was 100%.

After receiving a glowing recommendation from our insurance agent, we began discussions with ProVision Solar in March 2019. With EVERY email and phone call, all personnel consistently presented themselves as supportive, knowledgeable and timely (my questions were answered within 24 hours, usually within 3!). I was treated as a valued customer, not a numbered account; the company practices and values personalization.
It is now November 2019 and our NEM PLUS system is installed and running. I can quote neither specs nor savings at this point BUT I can commend their professionalism and highly recommend the company. Their reputation is well-deserved; their work outstanding!

Got my 32 panel with 2 Tesla Powerwalls installed a year and a half ago. I have been running 24/7 on solar power averaging 75-80%. Savings have been $275 to $325 per month. This is exactly what I was expecting when I ordered the system. Very happy with ProVision and the equipment installed. My Tesla app that monitors the Powerwalls tells me the HELCO grid has been down 10 times for 3 hrs total and I never knew it was down at all.

I love knowing that ProVision Solar operates as a local business with a personal touch. We received a quick followup to our bid request and they were open that in our case ProVision wasn't going to be the best choice. Thank you for your honesty!
