Alright, folks... I've been around the block a few times with respect to project management, construction projects, contractors, etc. This review is written with that in mind since I've had a pretty broad range of experiences in this context.

Following that exciting introduction, I'll first say that PBS has been superb in all aspects of every project I've worked with them to complete. This includes two new decks, a new roof, a new shed, and refinishing a cedar sun room. All of these projects were sophisticated, custom, non-commodity efforts involving high-quality materials and unique requirements. All were also completed on-time to our family's great satisfaction and delight.

Further, it was a pleasure working with every member of the PBS team, every step of the way (planning to completion). From Pete to Joe who's done a great job taking on the broad responsibilities he's inherited, to Aaron who will happily find a solution to any imaginable challenge, the entire team is excellent. PBS is our go-to for any renovations or big home projects. We've worked with them several times, including upgrading our siding and completely overhauling our old deck. They've been very professional on each project. Joe, Jordan, and Stacie walked us through each step of the planning process, handled all of the permitting and financing details, and kept us updated on progress throughout. Their construction crews are courteous and friendly; we've never had any problem engaging with them on the job about what they've found or what they're up to. All of our projects were done on-time and the crew cleaned up after themselves, so we're happy to give them 5 stars.

PBS redid our siding, windows, doors, and roof in 2022. They were wonderful to work with. Jordan was very thorough and responsive. PBS just finished our deck teardown and rebuild using AZEK. We were very happy with the whole process from the initial consultation, estimates and proposal, the communication with scheduling, communication around logistics for project start, the actual build, and follow up for the final inspection. We decided to go with PBS because of the excellent breakdown they provided in their proposal and the professionalism they showed.

Had another Trex contractor do a deck off the back of the house that did not feel solid from day one. After a couple "fixes" I got in touch with PBS. They shored up my existing deck and redid the stairs. Everything was solid as a rock from that point on. Had them back to replace a front porch to match the back deck and replace our entry door. Everything looks great and wouldn't hesitate to have them back for the next project.

We have just completed our deck project with PBS and we are beyond thrilled with the finished result. However the journey together was a '5 star' experience as well. When we first met with the team we not only had a vision -- but also the necessary permits - so it was 'go time'. In less than a month we went from hellos to an executed contract with a clear timeline of hitting a mid-June completed project. Beyond our vision to redefine how we use the property, there were recommendations from the team which were technically smarter, but also saved some budget. From our perspective our deck was massive, however they promised they would get this done in sub 8 weeks. With perfect weather for the majority of the spring and us being 'good clients' who made decisions in a timely manner the majority of the work was completed in 7 weeks. PBS ensured there were enough 'hands on deck' pun intended* to hit the deadline. Our neighbors expressed their appreciation for a smooth and respectful building process. Finally, the deck is a showstopper. Everyone has been very nosy and invited themselves over to inspect the work. I'm confident that PBS will find themselves some future projects not just at our home, but with others who see it. We've done multiple renovation projects at our primary residence and each brings plenty of anxious and scary moments. Dollars flying out the door bring weak knee moments, however in the few weekends since completion we've been able to sit and have a drink on our new deck and its amazing. I'm profoundly grateful for the PBS team who delivered big time for us. Please consider a conversation with the team. Our experience with PBS was nothing short of eventful, but in a good way! Our initial consult with Jordan was awesome! She is thorough, charming and knowledgeable. Great start! Our project then shifted over to Joe and shortly thereafter, to the on site team, including our new pal, Wendell. Our home is an old home, and with that comes a lot of unexpected challenges. Our project included, full demo of siding, windows and lots of clean up. Then, new siding, windows, front door and some custom work. Joe and Pete met with us, close to the end of our project, to address some concerns we had. They met us with grace and understanding after our “frazzled homeowner, this is taking too long and I’m pregnant and frustrated and we need ANOTHER DUMPSTER?!” meltdown. They addressed all concerns, walked the property with us, and went above and beyond with their finishing touches. They made sure every concern, no matter how big, small, or trivial they seemed, were addressed and completed. Although our project took longer than expected, it was more than worth the wait! We have gotten many compliments about our home and can’t wait to work with PBS again!

We had our 1780 barn resided first by PBS and were so impressed by the professional job they did that we had them back to insulate, reside and replace the gutters on the house. PBS just finished our deck expansion and I'm already thinking about projects to bring them back for. Joe and Stacie were incredibly easy to work with, made financing the project a breeze, and were professional throughout the whole process. The building team was also professional, on time or early, and kept us up-to-date about what was going well and what challenges they were facing.

Perhaps the thing that most impressed me was when the building team found a bird's nest (with chicks) in my old deck. Instead of moving it, they kept it covered throughout the process and would even take breaks from working in that area to give the mother time to come back and feed the babies. That might seem like a little thing, but to me it shows that the team is more concerned about doing the right thing than doing the easy thing.

In any case, the work they did was fantastic. There was one blip on the final project, but it was immediately fixed. All in all, I can't recommend them enough.

We hired Professional Building Services to do a complete tear down and re-build of our deck. I wish I had better photos of our deck before the work was done. This company was absolutely phenomenal to work with from start to finish. Extremely organized, great follow up, very clear answers to all of our questions and concerns, everyone we contacted always got back to us quickly with answers. One thing I was concerned about was having the work start, and then having the crew disappear for days or weeks and just hop around from job to job, but I was absolutely blown away how hard and fast these guys worked. They showed up on day 1, and within 2 weeks the entire job was complete 100%, it was amazing. They came everyday and worked hard. The deck is amazing, built extremely well. It's all Trex deck, lighting, and we also had the underneath finished with a ceiling and lights. Highly recommend these guys to do any work needed and I look forward to our next project with them.

I highly recommend PBS for its quality of work and attention to detail, including a very pleasant work crew (thank you Roy and Jimmy!) who were delightful to talk to and work with. They were friendly, respectful, very hard working, and made every attempt to make us happy.
The owners of the company with whom we worked on getting the job up and running, were great too. A very knowledgeable and personable “front person” (Jordan) sealed the deal for us on choosing PBS as our company. The general contractor (Joe) who discussed the plan and our preferences in detail, wanted to get everything right and wasn’t satisfied until we were satisfied. We did at least 3 “walk arounds” of the house, at the beginning and twice more during the course of the work, to be sure everything was going according to plan and that no detail was forgotten.
It was great as well, to have a one-stop-shop company, which oversaw all 3 pieces of the work we had done (replaced all of the siding, replaced all of the windows and trim, brought in a gutter company to replace the gutter system).
Communication was very good too. The whole project was mapped out in detail and there were no surprises. Everything was clearly spelled out.
In the one case where we disagreed on a charge, Joe went out of his way to make sure we were satisfied in the end.
Our experience with this company was very positive. We would hire PBS in a minute were we to have more work done in the future.

We had a portico built. The company was fantastic to work with. They did great work, responsive to any concerns and were quick to resolve. Excellent communication and workmanship. Aaron was the onsite supervisor and very easy to work with, Joe was the PC and was very responsive to any questions or concerns. He was attentive to detail, he made a trip to the house twice to go over the roof shingles and wanted to make sure we agreed with the choice based on how it would match the existing roof. Our portico looks beautiful. We love it. We would absolutely use them again.

We have had a great experience with Professional. Unlike many construction companies I've worked with in the past, I was struck by how professional their process was. Given how busy they were, there was a long lead time before they started. Throughout their lead-up to starting, they kept in constant communication letting us know where we were on their list. Once the project started, the craftsmanship and attention to detail was second to none. The finished product is awesome. The team built an amazing deck for us. They were highly professional, honest and upfront from the beginning and did high quality work. Very strong and sturdy foundation, staircase and railings with beautiful lighting.

I have had PBS replace my siding and then part of my roof and doors and sky lites. The work has been good and usually the response to my inquiries have been prompt. The siding was replaced before Covid and I was very happy with the work and the response to any inquiries about problems. The second job was arranged in the spring of 2021 but did not occur until December. I understood because I knew there were issues with Covid, supply chain, etc. My only complaint was that I was not kept informed about delays.

We replaced our deck that was beginning to sink and splinter. Even though the project was delayed, it was outside of the builder's control.
Professional Building Services was very responsive and gave me updates as projects in the queue progressed. The replacement deck is absolutely beautiful. We made it a bit bigger and it is much more enjoyable now. We LOVE it!
Update - more projects: we have recently finished another project with Professional Building Services. We had our shutters replaced and Joe did everything in his power to have the project done for a special event at my house. This really puts a nice touch on all the projects we've done with them. In addition to the first deck, they also installed a new front porch and Versetta Stone on the front of the house.

I don't usually write reviews but I know how hard it is to find a reliable contractor so I want to help others looking and highly recommend the PBS team. They did a fantastic job replacing and building a beautiful new portico. When we bought our house a few years ago we had no idea the front portico was not built right and a year ago noted it was fully water damaged and rotting. Joe was very helpful in reviewing options and design and was very easy to communicate with and responsive with emails. Lynn was also very helpful and kind and quickly responded to my many emails. The crew did an amazing job with the build. And I feel confident the portico is now built correctly and beautifully. They were friendly and professional. The foreman made sure to double check my design preferences so the details came out exactly as I had hoped. I will definitely be using PBS in the future for our next projects....roof, siding, remodeling.

We have used PBS several times and wouldn’t use any other contractor. We had new Harvey windows and Hardee Siding installed. Our house looks like new! Several neighbors commented about it. Professional Building Services turned out to be a great organization to work with. The job was completed on budget with the only change being one that I requested and was quoted before I decided. Jordan did a great helping us pick the design and facilitating the start of the project. Joe helped with technical support and ensured the crew met my needs. We had a ranch house resided with the 7” reveal Hardy Plank siding. We had new soffits, facia boards, water table all the way around, 2 new windows and new gutters with leaf guards installed. Our home looks great now and we get a lot of compliments from our neighbors. I would not hesitate to use PBS again if I had another project in their wheelhouse.

PBS did a fantastic job on our home. We were overwhelmed by the amount of work that needed to be done, but PBS put our minds at ease. They were able to explain all of the stages and processes clearly and even have an online payment portal that made it easy to track invoices and payments. PBS installed a new front door, all new windows, and all new siding on our house recently. Joe and Jordan were both great to work with from the very start. Thorough and professional through it all! Their 3D app, virtual meetings (due to covid), and builder trend app all made everything feel very organized and well thought out. Professional Building Services resided our house several years ago. They did an excellent job, and we are extremely happy with the service. Pete & Joe have always been very responsive to our questions and so when recently a backhoe hit our house when paving the driveway, I knew exactly who to call and fix it. They put us on the schedule and sent an expert carpenter out to replace the broken siding. They did an excellent job and matched the Hardie board exactly. It looks great and you would never know where the ding occurred. These guys are great to do business with I cannot say enough about the company.

The review above was written years ago and since you cannot create multiple Google reviews for the same company, I wanted to append to it based our latest experience. PBS just completed a small job at our house replacing a gutter, fascia and installing a gamble vent to mitigate ice dams in the winter. We consulted with Joe and team, and they devised a multiple step plan to help us with the issue. We worked with Keith and Tom who were very professional and did an excellent job with the execution. PBS did a great job with replacing our old deck. The install was fast and the contractors working on the project were knowledgeable and experienced. When slight changes occurred or something needed to me modified they always ran it by me first before they installed it. When the project was completed my wife and I were blown away by the results.
