In early summer of 2023, we started to notice "Hail Claim Approved" yard signs from a storm restoration company called "Pro-Resto" on our block and in our neighborhood. A few weeks later, we noticed our neighbors getting new roofs and gutters being installed. We asked one of them about it, and he said that Pro-Resto had worked with their insurance company to get them to pay for a new roof and gutters, following damage from the catastrophic early April hail storm that affected much of Illinois, including our area. Their only out-of-pocket expense was their insurance deductible, but that was reduced by a generous credit for placing Pro-Resto's yard sign.

In late August, we decided to call Pro-Resto for a free inspection, and Scott and Curtis came out to our house. Curtis inspected the roof, siding, fascia, and window wrap. He did mark many areas with chalk that were damaged by hail, and told us we had some of the worst shingle damage he had seen. We decided to have them initiate a claim with our insurance company (one of the "big ones"). Before doing so, Scott asked who our insurance company was, and made a bit of a disappointed face when we told him. He said our particular insurance company was being difficult in getting claims approved, but they would do the best they could to work with them.

A week or so later, an insurance adjuster came out and did his own inspection. When we received the first claim summary, we were a little shocked to see that insurance would only be paying to replace 10 individual shingles on the front slope of our house, and only one on the rear slope. The total claim payment was about $5,500, with most of that for fascia, window wrap, and downspout replacement. We received a check for about half ("Actual Cash Value") of the total claim payment, with the rest ("Replacement Cash Value") to be paid when the work was completed.

Long story short, it took a full year from the time the claim was filed until our insurance company finally agreed to pay for a new roof, along with new gutters and downspouts, together with the other items they had initially covered, with Pro-Resto working with our insurance company the whole time. A final inspection was done by a different adjuster in August of 2024 (done together with a Pro-Resto inspector) and we finally had our new roof completely paid for!

Pro-Resto also helped us identify a lack of soffit ventilation, which had caused lots of mold in our attic over the 40 years since our house had been built and one of their crews cut in many new soffit vents in the front and rear (and enlarged the few the original builder had put in).

All work was completed in early November, 2024. The crews subcontracted by Pro-Resto (roof--1 day, gutters--1 day, aluminum--1 day) were all excellent, and cleaned up extremely well. Despite being well-protected by plywood, the roofing crew chief upon completion noticed a small tear in our fabric grill cover. He sent us a full replacement payment via Zelle that night! Our house has never looked better, and we know we are getting proper attic ventilation now.

Even though it took over a year to get the job done, it was not Pro-Resto's fault. On the contrary, it was their persistence and doggedness in working with the insurance company that resulted in a full payout, saving us over $23K. Throughout the whole process, Scott was informative, honest and forthright, friendly and encouraging. Despite usually being out on new inspections, he would always return any questions or concerns by end of day. Dominic was also very helpful getting a few small post-install tasks completed. As a bonus, the IKO Dynasty Class 3 impact- and wind-resistant shingles they installed made us eligible for a significant home insurance premium discount.

Pro-Resto is a company that will do everything it can to get your home's storm damage repaired or replaced by highly professional crews, working with your insurance company for as long as it takes to get them to pay what they should. Cannot recommend strongly enough!

Dean was the first person to come to my door to talk about roof repair. Normally, I don’t entertain people soliciting services, but he was kind and specific about my roof needing repairs that I paused and gave him a chance. That led me to Brandon, who helped me through the entire process.

Brandon worked seamlessly with my insurance company and was incredibly kind and patient. He inspected the roof with a flashlight and chalk, like he was the homicide detective of roofing. He was very thorough and found every bit of damage. After walking me through the process, the insurance company came out, confirmed the damage, and things moved quickly from there. All I had to do was sign a few papers and pick a roof color. It was so easy. The roofing team was very respectful of my wife’s garden and flowers, which are close to the house, and they did a great job protecting windows and other parts of the house during their work and cleaned everything up very well afterward.

I learned I have more complicated, older-style gutters, which needed a specialist of sorts to get them back to pre-damage condition (or better), and they handled it all perfectly. They also replaced my window wraps after finding hail damage there too. Now the exterior of my house looks like it got a full makeover.

I’d highly recommend Pro-Resto and Brandon to help you through the whole process. Even if you don’t think you have much damage, let them take a look. They’re so thorough, and there might be more damage than you think! Thanks guys for a job well done.

This was the easiest company to work with helped us get our insurance to approve a new roof. Workers were great and completed the job in 3 days and left the place exactly as it was before they came. Highly recommend working with Scott.

Besides the roof looking great, they surrounded the house with drop cloths to catch anything that might fall off the roof. Then they did multiple sweeps around to clean up any little bits that may have been left after the drop cloths were removed. All in all fast and efficient.

Jen and Brandon from Pro-Resto did an excellent job managing my hail damage insurance claim. Brandon was on-site the morning the insurance adjuster visited, making sure to highlight all the damaged areas. He was very diligent, and gathered more photos that successfully added items to the claim that the adjuster had missed.

My roof has solar and I wanted to make sure all the solar parts would remain under warranty after the reinstall. Pro-resto was able to discuss in great specificity how the process would go. Pro-resto coordinated with my original installer Ilumen Solar for the work and they were able to minimize my solar down time to only 1.5 weeks.

The tear off and replace went very smooth. Jen gave us a great suggestion for the new roof color. Pro-Resto's crew was efficient and made sure my family could safely enter/leave the home as needed. I asked the crew to try and be diligent with cleaning up roofing nails. They ran a magnet sweeper over the walkways, but the grass still had quite a few. A half hour of looking diligently was enough to find the extras.

Insurance also replaced our gutters, but we wanted to have the house painted first. Brandon made sure we didn't have the gutters installed until the painting work was finished. Immediately after the painting work was done, the gutter crew came out. They did a really excellent job and the home is looking the best it ever has.

I met with a salesman from the company who did an assessment of hail damage to my home. He found that there was damage to the frames around the windows and damage to the roof of our sunroom. He provided a quote and said that he could provide the services to fix the damage. He stated that the next step would be to call the insurance agent together and start the claim. I got back to him a couple of days later and told him that I wanted to proceed with the project and was ready to call the insurance company with him. He later responded with a text that we could talk on the upcoming Monday and asked if I had a particular time. I responded with a time but did not hear back from him until Monday passed. We finally did schedule a time for the next week. He never did show up for our scheduled time and did not call me to explain. I texted him to see what happened. He called several hours later to say that he showed up at a house of a person with a similar name. He then went on to say that he couldn't provide the services anyway because the company didn't have the incentive to fix these types of problems. My irritation comes from the fact that he told me he could do the work in the first place. I would have been fine if he said that the work was outside of the scope of the company. He wasted my time. Additionally, he said that my insurance company was hard to work with and that was the second reason they didn't take the job. Again, I told him the name of my insurance at the first point of contact. Why didn't he tell me up front that this was not going to work? I am very disappointed, especially given that the person who installed my solar panels, who I liked very much and was highly responsive, recommended this company.

The install team did a great job in preparing the job site before they started (plywood set up around garage door, large windows), tarps draped from the gutters to the ground (past the plants), not a single plant was damaged. We just had our roof replaced by Pro-Resto, and they did a great job! It was a really busy time, but they got us on the schedule relatively quickly. They handled working with the insurance company, making it a really smooth process! It only took 1 day to finish, and they made sure that everything was cleaned up really well.

We had several referrals and contractors from other companies, but failed to get an approval for our insurance. Scott from Pro-Resto came and help us through the whole process from insurance approval through our actual roof and gutters installation. He is very professional and polite, and we are very happy and satisfied with the finished project. Scott and his team did a great job and we are grateful!

Luke and the rest of the Pro-Resto team were good to work with right out of the gate, from assisting with the claim and helping us understand the process, working with the adjuster / insurance company, and then the crew doing a really nice job on the roof replacement. We had a lot of different conditions on our roof too - steep slope, low slope, skylights, different metal flashings and venting at various levels. Being in a similar industry, I appreciated Luke taking time to have collaborative dialogue about the scope and details - he genuinely cares about delivering a quality job.

Pro-Resto was professional from the beginning. Jennifer and Brandon both made the insurance process easy, and they guided me from start to finish. They never seemed to mind my many phone calls. Their roofing team was very helpful, and their clean-up was amazing.

The whole process went pretty smooth. Jennifer was very responsive and explained everything to me. It does take a little bit of time due to the insurance going slow, but the Pro-Resto part was great.
The actual roof was done within one day.
So far I had a great experience with the workers, but the best part was the communication I had to Jennifer. She’s on top pf her game!

Our project manager was Luke Bierbower Throughout the entire project, which also included siding replacement, Luke was knowledgeable, professional and responsive to any questions that we had. He was a great communicator and made sure we understood the process of our job. He was easily available when any questions came up. His comprehensive grasp of the products used and process needed to complete our job was excellent and very helpful. His patience is remarkable and his goal was for us to be comfortable with all decisions and to do what was best for our home!
