Hired Pro Home to replace my roof that is over 30+ years old, double layered and no longer eligible for insurance coverage. Pro Home did an amazing job completing the work all in a single day. They were professional, prompt and cleaned up the place quickly.

I have previously hired Pro Home to do a complete facelift of our house, replacing the siding and custom trims. Pro Home was selected from a pool of 21 other contractors whom I'd interviewed and gotten estimates that spanned over an intense 3 month period. After a decade, the siding still look as good as ever. It speaks to the quality of the work that continues to stand up against the test of time.

This time around, there is no need to look elsewhere. Peter had previously recommended that I replace the roof at some point but never pressured to hurry since it was doubled layered. for our roof, Peter provided a thorough recommendation on the choices available and we selected the brand that had the best hail protection.

Peter and Pro Home did a very good job replacing my roof. They picked up all debris and also used a magnet roller to catch any nails that had fallen in the grass. Also they took care not to damage my asphalt driveway.

Peter and his crew did all new siding, facia, and soffit on my house in Carol Stream. I was beyond happy with the work, and communication. We like to do business with local companies. Pro Home is local, competitive/fair pricing and highly rated on BBB. Peter responded quickly to our request for a bid. He came over at the agreed upon time. He was friendly, professional, knowledgeable, thorough and clear in communication and understanding of the roofing job we required and agreed upon.
Many workers arrived promptly on our roofing day. They were busy as bees and used plywood sheeting to protect our landscaping, windows, and property. We were surprised they finished everything but the gutters in one day. They cleaned up all when finished including debris and nails. Others came the next day to install the premium Rain Drop Pro gutter guard and 6 inch gutters. They came from another job but were delayed by extra work and highway traffic. They worked well past sundown as a thunderstorm was expected that night. They forgot the gutter end caps to keep the birds out, but came back and installed promptly when I noticed a week later and called them.
Everything looks good and functions well. We expected one direct water leak to be cured but we were surprised that another worse water leak in the basement also was cured.
We would use Pro Home again and we are happy to recommend them. Our next door neighbor followed our recommendation and is also satisfied.

Their response to my request for roof repair was prompt. Ivan, their representative was professional, knowledgeable and courteous. Their estimate was reasonable, and the work was scheduled and completed in a timely fashion.

No respect for your time. We need new roof, new gutters, new exterior doors, and new windows… pretty large job that will likely cost 6 figures.
I asked for a Monday appointment because that’s my one day off a week, but they weren’t available so I scheduled the estimate for Tuesday afternoon. Rather than a set appointment time, they gave me a 2 hour window so I had to take the entire afternoon off work. Tuesday rolls around and they never showed up, no calls, texts or emails, nothing. Only after I reached out to them at 4.30 was I informed they’d be another hour. I totally understand things happen and sometimes we get held up but a phone call or text is all it takes. If they can’t be professional or organized enough to call to reschedule an appointment, then I certainly am not going to trust them with 100k+ of my hard earned money.

Pro home services has done well over $150,000 of projects on my house over the years and I am quick to refer them to any of my friends and clients who need work done at their house

Fairly priced roof. Service and communication was excellent, both pre-sale, day of installation, and post inspection by Peter himself. I appreciated that Peter gave me a menu of options (cost to replace skylight, 3 different shingle options, different venting options.) Did the little extra things without nickel and diming for the adjustments - like correctly venting bathrooms through the roof instead of into the attic. I would recommend you at least get a quote.

Peter and Pro-Home did an excellent job on our roof and gutter replacement, as well as a window replacement and some siding repair. The whole process was great, with Peter providing a lot of great insights on roofing and gutter options and ways to handle some of our problem areas. Pricing was very competitive. Exceptional work and quality. I would highly recommend them.

Roof was done in ONE DAY!! An issue with gutters was taken care of after the installation when we inquired. Very little debris was left (pretty hard to catch every single thing). Workers were very nice and worked into evening because of forecast rainstorm. They listened to my concerns and addressed them. The contract was clear, specific, and addressed all details. The price was reasonable, the roof looks great, and our basement hasn't had any water in it since the new roof and gutters were installed (and there have been some heavy storms)!

Recognized the need for and completed replacing decking plywood, a chimney cricket, new chimney flashing, corrected a potentially problematic valley, and other issues not up to current code. Worked with our insurance company on our roofing opportunity. Very impressed with the Malarkey shingle product over what others used in the neighborhood.

I do not recommend Pro Home Services, Inc. and would give it “0” stars if I could.

I contacted Pro Home Services, Inc. after they were referred to me by Superior Chimney, who inspected my chimney for water seepage to the front of my fireplace. Superior’s investigation concluded that my issue appeared to be roofing issue, not a chimney issue (albeit some chimney maintenance recommendations were noted, but were unlikely causing the leak) and they stated the likely solution was for a roofer to install a diverter. I asked for a roofer recommendation and Superior gave me Peter’s information.

So I contacted Peter and explained to him what Superior said. Peter sent his rep, Ivan, to my house on 10/11/23 snd Ivan inspected the front of my fireplace and roof, and stated that he found the leak and could repair it. Peter sent me an estimate for $1,400 but later reduced the price to $1,300 because I had enough shingles to make the repair. Ivan came back the next day, 10/12/23, and completed the work.

On 1/10/24, I contacted Peter and told him the leak had returned after a very slushy, wet snowfall. Peter sent Ivan back out, and Ivan related that he could not find the leak. When I spoke with Peter, he said leaks are tricky and can be to find, and that he could send Ivan out to my house 10 times and he likely would not find the leak! When Peter said that, I asked for half my money back since he had not repaired the leak but had made an effort to repair it. He refused, stating he had done nothing wrong and that the leak was a chimney issue. So I asked Peter, if you knew leaks were tricky and that you may not be able to find it, why did you take the job in the first place? And let’s not forget, the chimney company were the ones who referred me to a roofer after saying the leak appeared to be roofing issue, so why wouldn’t I take their advice? And regardless of if it was a chimney issue or not, you still owe me a refund because you consented to take the job and did not fix it. Even after a few attempts to settle this situation via mediation methods (Better Business Bureau and Attorney General’s office), Peter still refuses to refund my money.

The bottom line is Peter said he could repair the leak, I paid him, he didn’t fix it, said he probably couldn’t, and therefore owes me a refund. Peter does not appear to be a man of his word so buyer beware before you get “got” like I did by this person. The saga continues…

Peter was recommended very highly by a good friend who had used him for multiple projects inside and outside her home. In 2010 I contacted Peter to check out damage to my aluminum siding due to a hailstorm. He then noticed my roof needed to be replaced also. He has also done all my windows, deck, and removing walls inside my house. We called Pro-Home after noticing one of their trucks while taking a walk around our neighborhood. Our project was to replace the existing roof. Peter came to our home and was very professional and courteous. We received two additional quotes from competitors. Ultimately we decided that Pro-Home would be the best fit for us based on multiple factors. The work was scheduled promptly pending the village permit application. On the day of the work, a large team of workers showed up on time and proceeded to work quickly and efficiently. The job was completed in less than one day and the site was well cleaned. The crew was great, very knowledgeable and professional. They had the 30 square roof torn off and replaced the same day and it looks great. Highly recommend Peter and his crew.

Preliminary review.
50 year old brick chimney above roof line was rebuilt by others. However, chimney re-flashing required roofing deck be cut, re-fit , and flashed due to size changes after brick work was done. Yes, I was anxious about the opening and weather during this time.
Ivan from Pro-Home Services did initial review and estimate, then all modification and repair. No confusion as to what was needed. Response time and scheduling was terrific. Work occurred over two sessions spanning three days due to hot weather. Ivan did not rush or take any shortcuts. Excellent workmanship. Excellent fit and finish. All new materials. New roof shingles match. Roof area is clean. No pricing surprises.

Of course final test will be heavy rain storms this Fall as well as snow / ice this Winter! At this point, Pro-Home Services is my go to roofing contractor. Very satisfied.

Winter is over and Spring storms have arrived. No leaks. No issues. I'm happy!

UPDATE April 04 2024
Extensive raccoon damage to roof ridge vents (photo is only a sample). Wife wanted to move...now! Called Pro Home Services. All repairs were completed before the rain and snow arrived two days later. Raccoon then caused additional damage, just not as serious. After capturing the beast (by others), Pro Home Services sealed the soffit entry point and repaired the additional roof damage. This quick and thorough work prevented a nightmare damage scenario to the interior of our house.
Our insurance adjuster was pleased. We couldn't be happier.

UPDATE May 01, 2024
New roof installed last week. We decided to replace it. GAF Timberline HDZ, charcoal gray. We asked for a replacement quote. There was no sales pitch or pressure for this. Excellent work. No issues with all the heavy rainstorms that came through. Our neighbors complimented us on the look. Clean, crisp lines on ridge vent. New main chimney cover. Lots of attention to detail. Tear off and install by a great team all completed in one day (6:30am-4pm).

During prior repair work, Ivan discovered old roof tiles were installed without removal of the cellophane strip covering the sealing edges. Previous installer simply nailed through the cellophane strip which means the tiles were secured but many never sealed. So, some edges flapped up when hit by strong winds! We were just lucky that no rain intrusion occurred.
Previous roof was 14 years old, had some hail damage, but should have lasted several more years. At tear off, we also discovered some previous stack vents were not properly closed up. Walking on them could have pushed through the roof tile. Some 70-year-old cracked decking boards at ridge also needed replacement. This also confirmed our decision to go ahead and install the new roof.

We are very happy with ProHome Services and recommend then without hesitation. Cleanup overall was excellent although I did find some nails at the end of each gutter.
Finally, once notified of the new roof, our homeowners insurance company reduced the cost of our annual policy and sent us a pro-rated credit.

Pro-Home Services replaced my 20 year old roof and I could not think of a better contractor to hire. Peter was professional and detailed in describing the steps necessary to provide the best roofing solution. roofing products and technology have changed dramatically since my last roof replacement. I have a rather large roof area, so Peter arranged for a double crew so that the entire installation occurred in one day. I had 12 roofers working to tear off my old roof (two layers) and replace it with a new one. The crew was very polite and helpful through-out the process. The clean-up was immaculate. I know have an excellent warranty and should not ever have to worry about replacing this roof again during my lifetime. I recommend this company to all my friends and business connections.
