**Beware of Prescott & Sons Roofing: Attempted Overcharging**

Prescott & Sons roofing contacted us after the hail storm in April to work with our insurance company to get everything fixed that needed to be fixed on our property. Their representative, Dalton, arrived when scheduled and was friendly and professional. We agreed to let them do the replacement of our three roofs and gave them over $18k up front. At the conclusion of the job, we were told that we owed them $26k more, which we paid.

Several weeks passed, and we received an invoice from Codi, the owner, stating that we had over $9k that was past due. Our response was that we had already received and paid the final bill. We were sent another invoice stating the same for a second time, to which we replied that we did not believe we owed that amount and would like a detailed billing invoice. We received back the same five line invoice as the first time, and he stated that he and his office manager had reviewed what we owed several times. Our response was that we needed to review everything and would get back with him, to which he replied that if we were refusing to pay, he would contact our insurance company regarding insurance fraud and file a mechanic's lien. We had a detailed spreadsheet with each item specifically listed that our insurance was paying for and the amount. After reviewing that, we did find that we owed a little over $2k, not $9k. That spreadsheet was forwarded to Codi, and he replied with, "Just send what you're showing you owe." If he truly believed we owed $7k more than that, I would think he would spend the time to prove it to us.

Prescott & Sons' attempt to overcharge us is a clear indication of their dishonest intent.

We strongly advise against using Prescott and Son's Roofing (who also goes by pcserviceskc and Pleasant Hill Roofing Co). Homeowners should be vigilant when choosing a contractor, and always watch your invoices very closely.

Over 5 months ago my company, 816Solarpros LLC, completed a battery backup installation for Codi Prescott with Prescott & Sons Roofing Co. Installation was completed in a timely manner, with no complaints voiced to my company. We initially invoiced Cody $15,500 for this installation, which was the agreed upon rate before any work was completed. Of this, only $4,305 has been paid leaving a total balance of $11,194.86. Beside the $4,305 no action has been taken to pay the debt. We have attempted to continue open communication over this matter, ultimately leading to Codi ignoring any attempts to resolve this issue. Through our invoice tracking software, we know Codi has seen the invoice. Throughout the past 5 months, we have sent 27 official reminders of the invoice, as well as countless informal reminders. He has viewed our invoice 18 times, most recently on 5/21/24. This invoice did not simply “slip through the cracks”. We find these practices entirely unprofessional, and reflect extremely poorly on Prescott & Sons Roofing Co. I believe we have been very accommodating and forgiving, given the situation, but being left to float a considerable invoice for several months is unacceptable. The client has already paid Codi in full, confirmed by the client, still leaving my company high and dry. I will never do work with Prescott & Sons Roofing Co again. The lack of communication, unprofessional manner of business, and lack of care toward the entire situation is frankly disgusting.
