I had by kitchen renovated in Aug. 2023 by Pokorn construction and I would highly recommend them to anyone interested in home renovation. They completed the work ahead of schedule and only took payments as each part of job was complete, which gave me peace of mind after having dealt with other unreliable contractors in New Orleans. Pokorn was completely transparent with their pricing. Thank you Joe and Reggie for the awesome coordination of the work!

I am a NYC resident who is fortunate enough to own a condo in New Orlean's Warehouse District which needed a total bathroom renovation. I chose Pokorn Construction in late April 2023 to do this tub to walk in shower conversion after visiting their website and seeing impressive photos of a condo they had renovated in my building.
Christian Pokorn, owner of this company, took a hands on and personal interest in this project and what a win this was for me.
From my initial in person meeting arranged via email and at my convenience, I found Christian and his condo specialist, Reggie Abaeo, to be very pleasant, patient and most accommodating.
I received an honest and most importantly, accurate estimate with a straight forward contract.
Christian graciously drove me to a nearby Floor Tile superstore where I was easily able to make my selections which he then forwarded a portfolio of fixtures needed. It turned out to be exactly what I wanted.
Work began in earnest late May when Reggie and his talented crew came and delivered this beautiful custom bathroom for me.
I received updates and photos of the work as it progressed and was billed as each stage completed.
When I did the final walkthrough in August, I was very pleased as the estimate turned out to be spot on and without any surprises.
I look forward to working again with this excellent local company and highly recommend Pokorn Construction.

I cannot recommend Pokorn Construction enough. I am SO impressed with the work they performed on my house. Not only was the work done to impeccable standards, it was also completed early, and exactly on budget. They even mopped their way out of my house at the end! The amount of detail and care provided was outstanding!
I needed to replace the double set of french doors in my master bedroom with windows and a single door, requiring him to completely remove the exterior wall and rebuild it from scratch.
He helped me pick out my materials to ensure everything I purchased was the correct size and product for the job.
His project manager, Patrick, was on site daily to ensure everything stayed on track. Any issues or concerns I had were immediately addressed. Both Christian and Patrick were communicative and responsive from start to finish. They even texted me photos of the work in progress so I could follow along remotely.
You get what you pay for in construction. And if you want to minimize headaches and have a superior finished project, Pokorn Construction is it.

I hired Pokorn to rebuild gates for my driveway and fix several other exterior areas needing attention. The quality of the work was excellent and the team was very easy to work with. I would hire them again in the future should a need arise.

I hired Pokorn Construction to renovate the 2 bathrooms and kitchen in my home after almost a year of searching for the right contractor for the job. With the renovations now complete, I can say without a doubt my only regret is that I hadn't found Pokorn Construction sooner. However, after a year of prospective contractors that scheduled time to look at my project but never came, and others who came but never provided me the estimate they promised, and yet others who did provide an estimate but with such vague detail of the work they'd be doing throughout my house, or an idea of what exactly any of my frenovations would like in the end, it was clear to see Pokorn's commitment to set itself apart from all the others that came before them.

From first time they came out to discuss my projects/best options for each, to the day we called it a job well done, they provided clear and consistent communication, skilled labor that arrived on time each day, and a commitment to deliver each renovation in the way they were promised, and with standard of quality and workmanship that can not be questioned.

I cannot recommend Pokorn Construction enough, and I'm thankful to them for returning us the joy and excitement we began this process with a year and a half ago.

This is not a review of bad work, but complete non-responsiveness. The project manager came to our house to discuss our project and give us a quote. He said it would be two weeks to work up the quote. 6 weeks later ... We have never heard back. I've emailed, called and texted the project manager and the owner for follow-up. I have received no response, not even to say we are working on it or we can't take your project. Nothing. This is unfortunate. The company's work get great reviews but even if they responded to me now, I am not sure I would ever feel comfortable hiring them.

Edited to add: The company owner reached out to me. They are overwhelmed with work and fell behind on communication.

Christian, Reggie, Lee + the entire Pokorn crew are absolute life savers! They are always willing to help us on varying projects no matter how big or small. They are kind, creative, helpful, on time, and their work speaks for itself. I cannot recommend these folks anymore! They are an incredible go-to business for literally anything you might need help with. They are also extremely well versed in French Quarter construction which is supremely helpful if you need to make any changes or renovations within the bounds of the VCC. In New Orleans it can be tough to find reliable help and I feel like we hit the jackpot with Pokorn Construction!

Christian did the renovation on our kitchen, our first floor bathroom, and our guest bathroom. He did a very good job with the demolition taking out the ugly old 50’s checker tile floor and dated countertop and replaced it with a ceramic tile and quartz counter respectively.

Christian and his staff are very pleasant and honest. I have even recommended them to my co-workers when they have had home re-pair/plumbing needs. Recently, his staff members arrived to my location promptly and prepared to complete an estimate for me. They even took the time to explain to me the specifics of the quote, their concerns with the renovation regarding cost and offered alternative solutions. After several positive interactions with the company and the staff, Pokorn Construction is the only team I trust to complete my home improvement projects now.

I requested a proposal for a custom fence project. My time is valuable as I work 16+ hour days. Christian came to my house to scope the project. I had previously put together details, including a boundary survey to provide more insight. Christian never followed up with me, never submitted a proposal, and never returned my multiple emails and phone calls. It was an $18,000 project in which I got completed by Scott Fencing company which did a great job. I am unsure as why I was not afforded the simple respect of turning the job down instead of wasting my time with a home visit and zero followup.

Pokorn construction and their team are good at what they do. With just an idea in mind Christian and his crew can have your project come to fruition with little hassle. They are easy to schedule and their quality is way better than any company can deliver.

Pokorn Construction were great throughout the home renovation process. Christian communicated with me in detail and was always on top of things. Joe also came out and would call me constantly to give me updates on the progress which was great. I highly recommend Pokorn Construction for your next project, top notch contractor. Thanks guys!

I have used Pokorn for two projects so far and I could not be more happy with the outcome on both. They installed a driveway and handled the entire process (permit and all). Most recently, they remodeled my master bedroom. It has made a use difference in our quality of life. We had noise and light issues in our bedroom that made it difficult to sleep Christian's knowledge of what to do is so reassuring when trying to resolve any issue with a house. I don't envision a circumstance where I would use anyone other than Christian and Pokorn for any projects on my home.

Called Pokorn to quote a bathroom renovation. Owner came over on time, discussed the project with me in detail, and then submitted a quote via email like we had discussed. I had a few basic follow up clarification questions on the quote that I emailed back, but I never got a response from the company. It was like they disappeared. Too bad since the quote was in line with the quote from the company that I ended up using with a great result- Cameron Kitchen and Bath.

I was struggling to install a new locking system on my door Friday night when Christian exited a nearby establishment and offered to help. He took time out of his night to finish installing the lock. When I called the next day with a question, Christian came back by to follow up — on a Saturday evening! His sincerity and genuine desire to help were very appreciated.

We hired Pokorn constructions due to the reviews online, and the Company exceeded my expectations. We moved to a new place last year, and we were looking for someone to replace the glass on our front door. We called Christian on a Wednesday and his crew came over on Friday. They replaced the old windows within two hour, cleaned up after themselves and we even received a follow-up call from Christian to see if everything was they way we wanted it on Monday. Top notch Company, with great customer service and a delightful staff. Since then we have used Pokorn for several other projects.

Christian and crew did a wide variety of interior and exterior work. They were thorough and observant, although very busy, so scheduling was sometimes complex. One thing had to be redone and they were able to do it, which was much appreciated.

I got in touch with Christian, the owner of Pokorn Construction, because I had a long-distance novel handyman type project that I needed to have completed. It involved picking up some Home Improvement type that was only available at a store in New Orleans, breaking it down, and then shipping it up to me in Ohio. I chose Christian and his company because of the many positive reviews here on Yelp. Christian was able to assign one of his top handyman to the project, and it was completed flawlessly and on time and on budget. We could not be happier with how things went. He even made things simpler for me by paying for the merchandise and the shipping himself, and then just invoicing me one grand total, which was very convenient and much appreciated. I would thoroughly recommend Christian and his Construction Company on any projects and if I lived in the New Orleans area, he would be the first person I would get in touch with if I had need of a handyman or a general contractor!

Pokorn Construction pays attention to detail. They understand construction at a high level and will provide renderings to make sure the client knows what they are getting. I highly recommend working with them.

Unfortunately I cannot give the review I would like to.
Pokorn construction is now banned from my condo building.
This is due to his company cutting a fire alarm system wire (which affected the entire building) and then his not paying the Honeywell invoice until we got lawyers involved months later at which time he paid only half of the $2100 invoice, causing me to pay the other half. When it happened Christian Pokorn assured me he would take care of it but then, even after 6 months, did not. I am very disappointed in his ethics.

We had a really great experience with Pokorn Construction. We did a complete gut and remodel of the kitchen as well as some work in our living area. From start to finish Christian and his crew were professional with all aspects of the job. From the clear and concise contract, to the money saving suggestions, to a full explanation of the cost and need for any change orders, we felt fully informed throughout the process. The job was scheduled to take two months and hit its deadline. The crew kept the worksite as neat as possible. Finally, the quality of the work and the reaction from those seeing the finished project have been the best part of the process. Would definitely recommend them for your project.

Christian and his team provide quality work with positive, professional attitudes and genuine thoughtfulness. These guys are smart and well mannered. Pokorn construction completed a bathroom gut/remodel, as well as some sheetrock and woodwork in other areas of our home. They worked around me and my newborn baby being in the house, as well as my huge dog. They care about the end product and will not quit until you say you are satisfied. I will not use anyone else for projects large or small.

I moved to to town for a med school rotation. I needed some help with having a TV mounted and some broken panes of glass repaired. I called Pokorn Construction. Christian answered the phone right away. We scheduled an appointment for Wednesday morning. I had the estimate on Thursday and the work was done on Friday. All tv wires are concealed and my windows now have all their panes.

Christian and his team were great.They provided quality service at a reasonable price. One of their top qualities is that they think outside of the box. We had 2 issues that multiple contractors looked at, but none were able to identify the problem. Most wanted to rip into the walls and then find answers. Through a series of tests, Christian identified the problem, which was in the attic and saved me thousands, by a simple solution as opposed to tearing out walls for no reason. We were extremely please with their honesty and attention to detail. We would highly recommend them.

I cant say enough good things about Christian Pokorn. I found Christian after my property manager told me that of the 4 contractors she called 3 of them would not go to the French Quarter to give me a quote until after Mardi Gras and that wasnt for 3 weeks. One contractor came out but I didnt get a quote for 4 weeks and he said he couldnt start until after Mardi Gras.
I decided to look for someone and found Christian Pokorn. I called him on a Thursday. He came out the same day. Gave me a quote the next morning and started on Tuesday. He kept every agreement that he made with me including being available to receive new appliances at my condo. I live in Arizona so this was very convenient for me. Not only did my condo get finished in less than a week. He did this during Mardi Gras. His prices were reasonable and competitive. He even arranged to pick up a new refrigerator for me because the first one was defective. All without an additional charge.

It's difficult to find someone who keeps their agreements in this industry and Christian exceeded every expectation I had. I have referred him to my property manager and the condo association manager for future contracting needs. He's a good one!!!!
