This is a family business that cares about the quality of their work and helping out their customers. He provided same day service to me for a hole bashed in my roof from a fallen tree, when I'm sure he was very busy with multiple projects. At a previous home I had, he was able to figure out a solution to an issue where other roofers had not succeeded. I have confidence in him and his firm.

Company installed 25 year Horizon Shangle shingles in 1995. After 28 years, no leaks. Recently, a rubber boot failed on a vent pipe and McTavish sent out a repairman the same day I called.

I highly recommend PJ McTavish &Co. They were prompt, professional, friendly, and did a great job at a reasonable price. I am a RE agent and will recommend them to clients as well as calling them for future personal work.

Pat McTavish and his entire crew could not have been more professional, caring and efficient. He is by far the best, most concerned contractor I have EVER had to any work ever around my house . Hi team put in the most amazing huge velux cabrio skylight ( from Denmark) with precision and speed and care. He worked so hard on my project, came very well prepared and all his crew were so kind and professional. This was an unusual job and he surpassed my expectations. First class!! And his sister who helped me in his office was also wonderful with perfect customer care. You can not go wrong!

We had a great experience with PJ McTavish & Co recently when we realized we had leaks in our roof due to the builder grade roof flashings that were improperly installed a few years ago. Patrick and Steve were very responsive, kept us up-to-date and completed the job quickly at a fair price. After talking with three other roofing companies I chose P J McTavish Roofing Co. because of the knowledge and the professional way Mr. McTavish explained the problem that I had with my roof. Once hired the employees were on time and worked steadily to fix my problem. This company was not the cheapest, but I wanted "perfection" and that is what I received from start to finish.

When a piece of siding was blown off the house during a wind storm Pat came quickly to reinstall the piece and did a great job. They always respond quickly and efficiently. Lucy Willging

I had Pat come to look at my roof that was wind damaged due to a heavy wind storm. He was extremely professional and very diligent he explained exactly what needed to be done. He came out on a Saturday and did an emergency repair that was very well done no leaks at all saved me a ton of money as I am sure there would have been interior damage had he not taken the time to do the repair correctly. He worked with my insurance company to get the work done. I could have used anyone after the insurance claim was settled. I chose him to do the work and am I glad I did he installed the new roof and I could not be happier I had bids from 3 other companies one was less but I wanted quality over a cheap job. Called about a leak in my old siding. The team was at my house within an hour and they quickly fixed a few issues with siding and flashing and old roof nail pops. Caulked, and sent me pictures of the things on the roof. the team was efficient, friendly, and super helpful. A few years ago, they did our gutters, so this is the second time we've used them with happy results.

Service was very efficient. Pat was honest, polite, and to the point. Very professional. High quality work. Definitely recommend if you want the job done right.

Pat was extremely rude and condescending when he came over to provide an estimate. I had an issue with a couple of leaks in my roof after a particularly heavy rainstorm. Pat insulted my judgment and said I needed a new roof that would cost $50,000. This is more than ten times what I paid to get my roof replaced ten years ago! I asked him to give me a quote on just repairing the two areas where I was experiencing the leaks. He quoted $1,800 to just put some tar down! This was over five times what I eventually paid another roofing contractor to do the same work and the repairs involved a lot more than just slapping tar down. Aside from quoting shockingly high prices, he displayed no civility. I had to endure fits of yelling and insults. Of the dozens and dozens of interactions I've had with contractors over the years, this was by far the worst.

Our experience was not positive. They are unprofessional and rude. At first, they seem just fine. However, the moment you ask any questions related to the work, they can only conjure up an answer that is vague and non-descriptive, at best. When asked why they are of a certain opinion about what should be done on a home, their only answer is because they have decades of experience.
I am sorry but, that answer simply is not good enough for me as I try to make an informed decision about what work will be completed.
I would not recommend this contractor to anybody. There are much better options out there and with companies who come with a proven track record of excellent workmanship and great customer service.
