From the design and positioning of our McCall house on the river lot to the completed project, Dusty Bitton, the PineTop staff and associated subcontractors were professional, approachable and just plain fun to work with for approximately 8.5 months. We would build again with PineTop. We were encouraged to visit the job site at least every other week (lived in Boise) in order to ask questions, review the progress and make any necessary changes. This is a fine group of people who build a very fine product. PineTop deserves your attention if you are planning to build a home in Valley County or the surrounding area.

We chose Pinetop to build our McCall home after our cousin’s positive experience. This is the finest, most well built house that we have ever owned. The house is wonderfully designed, well situated to take best advantage of our views and is exceedingly comfortable. We expect heating costs to be well controlled and the driveway and garage design to perform superbly in winter. Dusty started framing in February, and was in constant communication and available whenever we had questions or concerns. We were able to move in before Independence day, saving us from “moving twice”. In short, Pinetop has been great to work with and we would recommend them to others.

In our search for a vacation home in McCall, we decided that building would be best for us. We were introduced to Pinetop Builders by our realtor, Heather Haines at Century 21. After meeting Dusty, he was a big part of us selecting our perfect lot in Aspen Ridge. We continued with Pinetop thru the planning stage and and they came up with a wonderful design which complimented our lot and view. We knew we would not be present during the construction, as we live and work in CA. This is why the most important decision to work with Pinetop was the trust in Dusty and his team to complete our home with quality products, on time and in budget. Pinetop knows a house is likely the single largest investment a person will make, and they do an outstanding job of making it a positive and enjoyable experience for each customer. Pinetop offers an interactive full custom design service. It’s a fun process where the client’s ideas are incorporated into the design and visualized on a 3D cad program - many times in a live setting at Pinetop’s office, the customer’s home or in an online virtual meeting. This phase of the process is fun, and actually expedites the design phase because there is immediate customer feedback and alterations to the plan can be made at that time. This is just a quick example of the innovation designed into the Pinetop system. There are so many more examples, like the pre-manufactured walls, the “Zip-Seal” system, the methodology implemented in choosing building materials and fixtures - I could go on and on! These innovative techniques result in a highly efficient service and very well built product. Pinetop’s turn-around time on a custom home, in most cases, is similar to the turn-around time I’ve seen with lower quality “cookie-cutter” homes.

The fact that friendships develop between Pinetop and their customers, and remain strong long after the project is finished, is the greatest testament of their efforts to provide a low-stress customer environment, make themselves available and accessible, their commitment to follow-up and follow-through, and their ability to deliver an excellent finished product.

What a great experience we had building our custom home with Pinetop. Dusty and Elise were great to work with and the price was very competitive. We had originally looked at buying an existing home, but after searching and searching and not finding anything we liked we sat down with Dusty and found we could build exactly what we wanted for much less money. My name is Pat Hamilton. When we started looking (Me and my wife Leslie) for a builder the first thing that stuck with me was that Dusty wanted to meet me early in the morning to keep his schedule in place. I feel timing and organization is crucial in construction to keep your cost down and on budget. After viewing a couple of Pinetop sites I was immediately impressed with their style of construction. We wanted a lot of natural wood in a warm setting. We used Tom States as our building designer in conjunction with Dusty's input. We definitely wanted more of a cabin look than a residence look. Dusty made recommendations and we love the results. A lot of our interior design was not specified, so we left it up to Dusty and his experience to get us the look we desired. We couldn't be happier with the results. Even with a couple building interruptions we finished on schedule and on budget. As we progressed through the project Dusty gave us some pretty firm opinions that we were making some decisions that we would regret later as we tried to keep everything on budget. We gave in on the majority of Dusty's suggestions. Looking back after two years we are glad that Dusty and Alese talked us into those upgrades and we are sorry we didn't follow their lead on a couple others. We set out to hire a contractor to build a home, and along the way made long lasting friendships and got an amazing home that exceeds our expectations. Dusty and the Pinetop team built a architecturally complicated 4000 sf home per the planned schedule-which was aggressive. Before selecting Pinetop we visited several project sites at varying stages. What stood out about Pinetop in comparison to other prospective builders was the cleanliness and organization of job sites, working relationship with homeowners and sub contractors, and attention to detail and quality craftsmanship regardless of the project size. We undertook a challenging project in a remote and unforgiving location characterized by high winds and changing weather. Before selecting Pinetop, I toured projects they had underway at various stages of construction. Their job sites were neat and well organized; the build quality was first rate... whether it was a lower priced spec home or a higher priced custom. In every instance the attention to detail and quality craftsmanship was evident. As our own job unfolded, Dusty Bitton kept me well informed with photos, Skype video calls, phone calls and texts since I was 2500 miles away. Our project "pushed the envelope" on energy efficiency with its double wall construction, a closed loop ground source heat pump and a super tight building envelope. Those investments paid off... thus far we have never paid more than $100/month to heat, cool and power our 2700 square foot home from sub zero days in January to 100 degree days in July. We conducted a blower door test for airtightness, and the results were impressive... better than Energy Star and even better than the Department of Energy's Challenge Home standard. The overall experience has been terrific, and the outcome was superb. I can recommend Dusty and the entire Pinetop team without hesitation.

After purchasing a home in McCall, we discovered ice damming problems the first winter. We discovered Pinetop Custom Homes from an internet search. Dusty came out right away and looked over our house, particularly the attic and immediately was able to identify the source of our problems. Utilizing his specific experience in McCall, he was able to get the right contractors and redid the insulation and roof on our house the way it should have been done the first time. We spent a few days in the house after completion and are excited about spending the summer there this year.
