We used Pillar to Post Home Inspectors for a home inspection. They were great to work with in that pre-buying process. We ended up having a leak in our roof due to a broken/faulty vent. It was missed in the inspection and I was able to talk with Doug about the situation and go over their report and the issue we were dealing with. No one wants problems with their homes, but it was nice to have a professional conversation with Doug and get to an amicable agreement to make both us and Pillar to Post satisfied with the outcome.
It was an honest mistake to miss the vent and they handled it like pros. I'd recommend them in a heartbeat and will use them in the future for inspection needs.

We had a very positive experience with Pillar To Post Home Inspectors. It was easy to schedule and the inspection was very timely. Andy was very thorough in his inspection, and he carefully explained the findings to us. Andy was very pleasant and professional. We were also provided with a book that had pictures and explanations. I really liked the online resources that were included, like quick access to measurements and other information about the house were we buying, as well as data about the appliances. I feel very confident in making such an important purchase now that I know more about the condition of the home.

I was very pleased with the services from Pillar to Post. Andy was our inspector, and he was extremely kind, thorough and professional. I had just had another inspection done a few weeks ago on a different property that we wound up not purchasing. My gut told me to try a different company due to a few minor errors in the documentation by the previous company. I am so happy that I tried Pillar to Post instead. Their work was far more detailed and included a lot of information beyond just what was necessary. They even gave me a beautiful, branded binder full of not only the inspection report, but a lot of other useful tools and information. We were in a situation where we unexpectedly had to move. We had to quickly find a home and were required to have inspections done very quickly. We heard The Farmer Team had an excellent reputation so we reached out to them. The next day they placed a radon kit in the home and performed a meth test and sent it immediately to the lab. 4 days later the inspection was performed. Doug went through that home with a fine tooth comb. He found very important issues that we never would have thought to have addressed, but would have affected us after the purchase. He was very professional, very thorough and he arrived right on time. We received an awesome binder filled with pictures and details of each issue. We also received a virtual on-line tour that took us through each room in the house and exactly where the issues were. Very helpful! We were blown away by the excellent inspection we received - and as such we will be able to have these important safety issues addressed by the seller before we move in. You can't put a price on that! I would HIGHLY recommend The Farmer Team to anyone who needs an honest, thorough and timely inspection done on their home!

We selected this company based on the positive online reviews- we couldn't have made a bigger mistake. We had some questions prior to our appointment and Doug was patient and informative to help us make our decision. Unfortunately, when it came time for our inspection, our experience was very different. The inspector (Andy) was agitated when he arrived, was disrespectful to myself and my wife, didn't bother to follow safety protocol (was annoyed that we asked him to wear a mask, which is a state health order, with our children present), wasn't interested in allowing us to show him areas of concern and missed said areas completely on his "report" until we then pointed them out to him. Frankly, I have no confidence in the quality of this service and feel like the report is of little value. If he didn't catch what we, as homebuyers, were concerned with how can I know he caught other issues that I don't know how to uncover? Andy ended up apologizing for his behavior but unfortunately that did little to calm our concerns. I would strongly recommend trusting your inspection to another service and avoiding Pillar to Post in Summit County.

Update: We spoke with Doug, the franchise owner, regarding our experience. I should note Doug was agreeable and apologized for his employee's behavior. He provided us with a couple of options to move forward. While our initial experience was less than ideal we needed the testing results in order to proceed with the purchase of the home. I have updated the review from 1 to 2 stars.

This is the third home we have purchased (two in California and now this one in Utah). Andy and Pillar to Post provided far and away the best, most thorough and most knowledgeable inspection service we have ever seen. In addition, Jennifer responded to our inquiry promptly (within minutes!) and the entire process of engaging P2P was extremely easy and efficient. We would recommend P2P to any home buyer without reservation.

The Farmer Team did an outstanding job on our home inspection. Being abroad and under Covid-19 lockdown was not an issue in terms of getting answers from them and a detailed report including a 360 video review of the home. Pictures were included in our report and a Zoom call to go over details was done. Highly recommend particularly if you are out of town and can not be present at inspection.
