Pillar To Post is absolutely the BEST service a new home owner could imagine! From the VERY detailed inspection (with on the site verbal review) to the emailed document (with text and photos), to the optional estimate to fix the 'issues' to the room-by-room dimensions .... on top of that, they help new owners set up utilities and any other aspect of moving into a new area needed. We used the floor plans (complete with measurements of doors and windows) to help determine where our furniture would go in each area long before closing. I used P to P for a new home we built in Virginia while living in NY. We obviously could not be on site regularly so having a set of professional eyes looking over things was imperative. The P to P crew was thorough in their inspections and communicative with their findings. The 360 pictures and "blueprints" they provided were incredibly helpful as well. If I ever need an inspection service again, P to P will be my go-to!

This is my third inspection with Pillar to Post. They have inspected homes I have purchased, and my experience with them has been excellent! Extremely professional, knowledgeable, and timely in response and results.

Electrical problems: In 2010 we purchased the home. We received an inspection report that said they could not access the electrical panels. All you have to do is walk into the garage and see them. Then in the summary they mention we have aluminum wiring and need an electrician to look at the safety of the wiring. Which is it, they weren't able to look at them or the latter? The panels were dated March and July of 1972. This means the panels were 37 years old, this fact brought to our attention, and should have been recommended to be replaced. Also, we recently learned the aluminum wiring in the home was not done properly. Neither of these concerns were mentioned in the report. Because of this we are learning we have to possibly rewire the entire home as well as replace the electrical panels to the tune of a lot of money. I would not recommend Pillar to Post to anyone. A home inspector should be able to look at panels and determine their age and recommend a replacement, as well as include the electrician's report in their summary. Neither were done. I would put zero stars if allowed.

Josh Elmes is exceptionally competent. The template used by Pillar to Post is comprehensive and use of photographic images is particularly helpful when you know the report will be shared with others who are less familiar with the terminology and home construction. To realize the full potential, you need inspectors who are up to the challenge. All things considered, I cannot think of even one small detail that would cause me to say "it could have been done better."

The Pillar to Post Inspector did a very thorough inspection. The buyer client was very happy with the inspection and report. The inspector suggested a final inspection after some work that needs to be done to the home. The buyer will be calling to have that done.

The team was very experienced and communicated any issues that they found. Additionally, they gave me a tutorial on the various areas such as air filters/locations, GFCI circuits, water cutoff etc. That was very helpful. The detail used was very nice. 360 deg photos in each room, drone footage of the roof, and detailed pictures of any issues. I'm very impressed with the thoroughness of the inspection. Worth every penny.

Home inspections are vital to understanding a very large investment; your home. It is like reading a prospectus on a stock to remove some emotion and replace it with rational understanding. John Lynch could not have done a better job. He was professional, knowledgeable, and thorough. He quietly conducted his process but took time to answer questions, address concerns, and provide a summary of his findings. After reading his comprehensive report I had a couple of questions. He replied to my email in hours which allowed me to more fully understand the condition of the property. HE COULD NOT HAVE DONE A BETTTER JOB FOR US and I am a tough customer.
