I can't recommend John highly enough. The seller had a home inspection conducted before listing, using someone known as a tough inspector and the inspector we probably would have used ourselves. The seller kindly provided the prior inspection report to us after contract signing. Since we wanted a radon inspection we looked for another inspector, and thought another set of eyes on the house (older home) would be good in any case, so we hired John to do it. He found NUMEROUS items not mentioned in the "other guy's" report, including safety concerns, roof damage penetrating the decking, undiverted gutter drain causing foundation decay, hot unterminated wires in cellar, electrical panel code violations and more. He was prompt, very helpful and friendly. He was extremely thorough and pointed everything out to us after the inspection.

He sent a 50 page document that went through a lot of different aspects and it was definitely worth it because I would have never seen a lot of the stuff that he saw.

John was very thorough and had a keen eye for all material deficits of the house I wanted to buy. I avoided buying a real pig of a house and a money pit. The sellers were greedy, clueless heirs who were unwilling to fix anything, so I cancelled my contract with them. Beware of Alabama realtors, they are mostly sleezy crooks.

Brief, almost a non existent explanation of anything included in his report. Areas such as roof, gives no findings on how the roof is, the deterioration factor, how long it might have left...details, details. There simply aren't any details to the home inspection report. Basically no mention of kitchen other than 'serviceable' yet when I see cabinets, they are loose or broken off hinges, heavy scratches.

The report is a poor comparison to what the actual houses state is in.

Don't put trust into this man's inspections, there simply too limp.
