Pilgrim’s Professional Roof Repair Service

With high winds, a portion of my metal trim was coming off of my home. I called Pilgrims Roofing around 9pm (after hours). By 9am the following day, I had received a phone call that they would look at the concern. By noon the job was done! This company is the real deal. Normally I do not leave reviews, yet I was so impressed with this company and their customer service I felt the need. I highly recommend Pilgrims roofing!

Couple Years ago Butch the owner came to my home gave me an estimate to run new bathroom venting through my roof and to inspect my roof. Butch son came over and did the work replaced few shingles and re flashed both my chimneys. EXCELLENT downriver company . Rare you find a family run company with EXCELLENT customer service. Friday 12/27/24 called Pilgrim’s spoke with Butch, shared pix of the damage caused by raccoons to my roof ridge vent, and pulled & chewed up shingles, and within couple hours Gary came over to assess and cost estimate.

Gary laddered up to roof and did a quick metal sheet temp patch as rain was coming. Next morning Gary finalized the repair. I asked for an assessment of remaining roof life and how long repair would last and was assured the repair would outlast the remaining 3 years of life on my 22 year old roof.

So consider me satisfied and happy, as I’m giving Pilgrim’s a 5 star review for especially their promptness, fair cost, professional and polite service. Thanks Butch and Gary!

I had a repair around my chimney and my ridge vents redone. What a difference in the temperature (cooler) in my upper level since having the ridge vent done. They arrived on time and were done in a couple of hours. They cleaned everything up when they were done. I would highly recommend.

They even came back a second time at no cost for another issue we were having due to plumbing (nothing they could do about it) but they put a part up on the roof to stop the leak till we can have a plumber out. I was throughly impressed with Pilgrims Professional Roofers. We are in the process of purchasing a home in Taylor and needed the roof looked at. We needed a broken shingle or two to be inspected as well as some roofing nails that were sticking up. I originally called first thing in the morning at 8AM, no answer & left a message. Called again because of how quickly we needed to get this done for our sellers. He (Butch) answered immediately the second & after a few sentences, he knew it was me & referenced me by name. He originally was not going to get to the house until the 09/13, but he was able to make it over there within a couple hours. We needed it done before 09/14. He called me by 12:30pm with the quote & said he would leave it in the door for us. Having a business that is willing to go above for a customer is appreciated. Also just the conversation I had with Butch, he is such a personable person & easy to talk too. He definitely cares about the company & his customers. We will definitely be using Pilgrims in the future & recommending them for any work that any needs. Thank you again Butch for going above & beyond for us!

Highly recommend this company. Super friendly, professional, quick and honest. UPDATE: had them out a second time to repair someone else's work that was done on a bathroom vent. I had a very good experience with Pilgrim’s. They found the leak in my roof and fixed it on the spot for a very reasonable price. They were very friendly and professional and didn’t try to up sell. I was very worried that everyone that came out would just tell me that I need a new roof but they were very honest in their assessment and just fixed the problem with minimal expense and fuss.
Edit: After several months and many hard rain storms the fix that Pilgrim’s did has been perfect. No more leaks and no problems. If you have a leak in your roof call Pilgrim’s first! I’m very happy that I did!

Butch and his son Gary have always been professional and courteous. They stand behind their work and they don’t try to up-sell a homeowner for more money. Had a leak in my roof and called another company and they wanted to replace my whole roof. My roof is only 9 years old. So I called Pilgram’s roof repair and they not only fixed my leak but they Found another potential issue and fixed it also. If you have roof issues call these guy’s first. I called Pilgrim Professional Roof Repair to fix some loose shingles that came loose during the wind storm and also some missed siding end caps on my home and I have to say they went above and beyond to address a couple other minor issues I would have never seen not being able to get on my roof. I truly appreciate the honestly and going above and beyond to address the extra issues and not even charge me for the extras. They wouldn't even let me make them lunch or take a water.

I called Pilgrims last January about a roof leak I was having, I was referred by my own father. There was no doubt that he (Butch) was knowledgeable; his son was as well. They fixed my problem and for a price I found reasonable, however, they didn’t fulfill everything they said they would.

I live in a high traffic area and am situated on a corner lot. Noticing this themselves, Pilgrims Roofing asked if I would keep their sign in my yard for several weeks and in return, since many cars would see their sign in my yard, fix a problem with my chimney that they noticed when addressing my leak. I of course agreed, thinking this was another sincere gesture by a company that did good work at my parents house, and years later, mine as well.

Months tick by and I hear nothing from Butch or his son. I didn’t pressure nor expect anything at this point because they are a family business and Butch just was recovering from knee surgery. I got it, because just like Pilgrims, I work for a father and son operation, hence my dad that referred me. I figured in due time they would fulfill what they offered me; man to man, small business owner to small business owner.

Fast forward to October 2019, still haven’t heard from them. “Man it has been awhile I’ve thought to myself.” So I texted Butch, reminded him who I am and what they promised me. “ Hello Andy, we are extremely busy right now but will work that in somewhere for you ” was his reply. Today is February 1st of 2020, over a year since their promise and they have not contacted me.

I do not expect free work, don’t get me wrong. However, they initiated the free work for placing their sign in my yard. For small businesses, reputation and honesty is everything; at least I thought so. This is sad in all reality because again, they did great work. But I’m still a young man, under thirty, and in reality am going to need a lot more roof work done in my lifetime. They could’ve had a customer for decades to come, but they had spoiled that by not being true to their word. It’s a shame really, I couldn’t imagine unfulfilling a promise to a customer of my own.

I wish your company the best of luck and that maybe this review can keep you from making claims in the future that you have no intention of acting upon. If words mean nothing, we have nothing to talk about.

Butch and his guys are amazing. They're on time, professional, and are just a great bunch of guys to do business with. When I needed a repair, I called one of the bigger companies, and the girl on the phone told me they didn't do repairs unless they did the roof. She put me on hold, and came back a minute later, and in a hushed tone (probably because she shouldn't have done it), but told me he was the guy to go to, and she wasn't wrong.I have referred them to many of my neighbors and friends. I've been burned by repair guys and contractors in the past, but Butch and his team are all straight shooters, who are honest, and trustworthy. You can't go wrong with Pilgrims.
