We have used Phoenix Home Services for several projects on our house. The first was adding on a portico on the front door as well as a new porch, steps and walkway. The team was exceptionally professional and respectful of our property. They provided detailed images of the work to be done which we were very impressed with. The finished project even exceeded those images. We are absolutely thrilled with the work and neighbors all tell us it's the nicest one they have ever seen. Because of how happy we are with that project, we hired Phoenix again to replace our old deck with a new one with a screened porch. I am delighted to give Phoenix Home Services a five-star rating for their exceptional work on our home addition. From start to finish, they demonstrated outstanding quality, efficiency, reliability, flexibility, and excellent communication. Not only did they deliver a new living space we absolutely love, but they also completed the project in a remarkably short time and made the entire process as smooth as possible.
Our project involved removing an existing covered deck and replacing it with a 20’ x 17’ four-seasons room. We sought proposals from several companies, and while Phoenix was neither the cheapest nor the most expensive, their numerous positive reviews and our discussions with Clint, one of the company’s co-presidents, made our decision easy. Clint’s expertise was evident from the beginning. He identified issues that other companies missed, such as the incorrect width of the existing roof cross beams according to Fairfax County code. He also offered many inspired design suggestions that set Phoenix apart.
Clint’s detailed written proposal included a comprehensive "Scope of Work," listing every aspect of the project along with materials and quantities. The proposal featured realistic, computer-generated renderings from multiple angles, which proved to be nearly perfect representations of the final product. Clint estimated the project would take 30 to 35 workdays, but the team completed it in just 27 days, even though we added some new features along the way, like a glass block wall, French drains, and vinyl lattice with an access gate.
We are delighted with our new addition. The construction is solid, and Phoenix resolved a long-standing drainage issue. The craftsmanship is impeccable—not even any spattered paint—and the quality of the custom-made windows, skylights, and split AC unit is top-notch. The two-year warranty on craftsmanship and materials also gives us peace of mind.
The work crew, typically consisting of four to six members, was exceptional. They were highly skilled, friendly, polite, and well-organized. They adhered to local regulations by not starting noisy work until 8 a.m., cleaned up daily, and prepared the site for rain in advance. Our neighbors had no complaints and were impressed by the speed of the project and the pleasant demeanor of the crew. I particularly appreciated the crew accommodating all my picky requests, despite the extra effort required.
Communication was another area where Phoenix excelled. Clint and Steve (the other co-president) made frequent site visits to provide oversight and seek our feedback. They also kept us well-informed throughout the project with weekly emails outlining the work plan, and they gave us a timely heads-up in case of any deviations from the schedule. They were both always responsive to our concerns and ideas, and they took the time to discuss every detail thoroughly. If they agreed with our suggestions, they implemented them immediately and ensured their crew was fully briefed.

When we wanted to design an outdoor living space for our new townhouse we tried a few vendors with no success. We finally found Phoenix Home Services and were blown away by their professionalism, creativity, positive energy and constant communication and updates. Any time we had a question, issue, new idea etc they immediately came up with a solution and problem solved it in a way we couldn't have imagined. It's literally the best customer service from a company we've ever experienced. Their crew worked tirelessly to meet deadlines and worked after hours, in the rain and on weekends to get the project done quickly. We've already booked them for a bathroom renovation and we are trying to think of more projects so they will stick around! It’s been almost a year since Phoenix did our home renovation project, and we are still walking around the house oooohing and ahhhhing every single day at the result!!

Phoenix did a massive kitchen/pantry addition (almost 400 square feet) and a large screened-in porch for us. Both additions were built up on posts, since we have a walk-out basement. The scale and detail of these two projects were huge — but Phoenix got them BOTH done in less than 3 months!! They worked with unbelievable speed, consistency, and precision. This type of reno has many potential pain points, but they got it done within budget and the allotted time frame while maintaining extremely high quality workmanship.

We picked out an extremely complicated tile design for the kitchen floor (sorry, guys!!) and it was done perfectly. All of the cabinets were installed perfectly and all of the finishes make the kitchen shine.

If you are shopping around for contractors, you will find cheaper options than Phoenix… but based on all of the horror stories we’ve heard from other homeowners, that cheaper price will very likely result in months of drawn out, unfinished, and shoddy work.

Phoenix showed up every single day, worked the entire day, and came back to fix small things when needed. They even sent someone out this month (almost 9 months after the project was completed) when we asked them to check on something that didn’t seem right to us.

Most of their workers are Phoenix employees, and the subcontractors they used (plumber, welder, etc.) were also excellent. They partnered with Slate Design and Remodel for ordering the kitchen cabinets, and we were extremely pleased with Slate’s work as well. (See my separate review for Slate.)

Because our home renovation projects were so extensive (and expensive), I also want to share the main “con” of our experience with Phoenix — even though the “pros” greatly outweigh the con: The free sketches of the proposed kitchen and porch additions were done very quickly and very skillfully (thank you!). However, when it came time to actually design the color scheme and pick out tiles, counters, floor, cabinets, fixtures, etc., it was clear that Phoenix’s specialty is in the very modern white/gray/greige streamlined look. We wanted a kitchen that reflected the wood, warmth, and colors of the rest of our mid-century home — so we were really on our own when it came to figuring out how to achieve that. If we had wanted white cabinets and quartz countertops and gray floors, Phoenix would have helped us pick it all out. Our design choices were very far outside Phoenix’s typical work.

There were other small bumps along the way, given the scope of the project, but overall Phoenix gave us the experience and results that are better than we ever could have imagined. Another testament to their high quality work is that my in-laws also used Phoenix for their screened-in porch, complete master bathroom renovation, and patio/grill area — and they are extremely happy with the results as well.

Bottom line — you will pay more up front with Phoenix than other contractors, but it’s worth it to have the work done on time, on budget, and with such high quality right from the beginning!!

Clint and his team were awesome. Clint was always available and responded timely. The project was perfect and completed ahead of schedule! Would absolutely recommend him and will be looking to use his services in the future.

From start to finish our experience with Phoenix exceeded our expectations. Phoenix made the process as painless as a major project possibly can be. Phoenix worked with us at the start to come up with a thoughtful and beautiful deck design that would fit within our budget. Unlike many contractors, they were patient while we considered and debated different alternatives and never pressured us to sign. The level of communication from Phoenix was outstanding. Once we did sign, Phoenix regularly communicated with us about the status of permits and scheduling, so we were never left in the dark about when the project would begin. When construction began Phoenix sent regular updates on what to expect each week. The construction was done to the highest standards. Our deck is not only beautiful, but also extremely well-built, which gives us the peace of mind that we'll be able to enjoy this major investment for many years.

Steve & Clint provide knowledgeable and timely customer service. Their projects are completed on time and on budget. Communication is excellent throughout the project.

We recently had a large backyard renovation completed that included 450' of new privacy fence, excavation/fill, retaining walls and sod installation. Fernando Sr/Jr and their team were absolutely phenomenal to work with! Every quality you look for in a contractor they excel: communication, quality of work, puncuality, pricing. I can't applaud their work enough. My only disappointment is that we don't have more projects to utilize their skills. If you're looking for a quality contractor in NoVA these guys are #1 in my book.

I’m leaving a review based on my personal experience with a customer service member - Clint Asmar from Phoenix. I reached out because I am interested in exploring my options regarding a sunroom. Based on the negative reviews I was aware that regardless who is paying for the service, both owners of the house must be present during the appointment. Regardless how inconvenient that would have been I understood the policy and was ready to work with that. However, as soon as I asked if they offered financing the next email was “Unfortunately, we do not offer any financing. We wish you the best of luck in your search.” There were so quick to send me away like there are no alternatives, and clearly they don’t need my business. Often companies offer 0% APR for 2-3 years which is a no brainer to choose if an option, so I thought I should ask. I felt disappointed and shocked in a way. So remember if you want to do business with Phoenix before reaching out make sure that every owner of the house will be present, make sure to have cash and don’t be asking for financing. I am sorry that I am not good enough to be your customer.

Phoenix Home Services built our new outdoor covered deck this past fall. What a beautiful addition to our home. We asked for the same footprint as the old deck but added lots of features like pine planks on the ceiling, ceiling fan, pot lights, screens, mulitiple electric outlets and a plant area extension on the sunny side of the porch. This is our second time using Phoenix Home Services and we could not be happier. The first time, we had a leak in the kitchen and our insurance company's recommended contractor was very difficult to get in touch with and made us feel like the job wasn't worth their time. Since things weren't going well, we reached out to Phoenix and they really pulled through and we have our dream kitchen! Honest guys, hard workers, and excellent work. When we needed a roof replacement, our confidence in them led us to hire them to do a complete glow-up of our back porch (basically, build a completely new structure, wired with electrical for fan and lighting), as well as a facelift for our carport. We knew when we hired them that this would be worth every penny paid - and we could not be happier.

Phoenix Home Services did a fantastic job with my home remodel. Before we hired them, they gave us good ideas, which showed us their creativity, and more importantly, they gave us options for different price levels. They were never trying to push us to spend more money, and they took great care in the work and detail they provided. It was a great experience, and I would definitely recommend them and use them again for future projects. They knocked down interior walls to give us an open floorplan and gutted the existing floor, kitchen cabinets, kitchen island, and brick fireplace. They then installed all new kitchen cabinets, island, appliances, flooring and kitchen backsplash, ledgerstone fireplace, painted the entire house, updated the electrical work (outlets, switches, circuits), and fixed concrete issues on our front porch. They were very responsive to our questions and kept us fully informed of the work schedule and timelines. Steve and Clint are true to their word, and we had zero surprises at the end of the project. All of their workers are very professional and friendly, and they left the house looking beautiful and clean. We love the house and are grateful to Phoenix for the quality work they provided.

We just completed a renovation with Phoenix which included removing our old wooden deck, building a screen porch and paved patio, and all the smaller considerations that go with those projects. We considered a smaller contracting outfit but decided to go with Phoenix. What interested us about Phoenix initially was the breadth of experience and expertise reflected on their website, but what sealed it was our initial meetings with, and proposal from, Phoenix's co-owner and design guru, Clint. We had only vague ideas of what we wanted, but Clint saw all the possibilities and was generous with his vision, while still being mindful of budget concerns and presenting alternatives to satisfy those. As we were new to doing a home project of this scope, Clint was patient with answering our many questions and addressing any concerns we had. A benefit of going with a larger and more established contracting firm like this, we found, is their access to, and existing relationships with, the "best of the best" sub-contractors and suppliers. I think they also must have some sort of magic deal with the permit authorities (or perhaps it's just vast experience and knowing how to get these things through efficiently) because that part of the process, which we expected to produce the biggest delay, went at lightning speed! Indeed, one of the great things about Phoenix is that they keep everything moving forward. The projects and subprojects kept moving at a breakneck pace. Clint makes sure everybody’s taking care of their responsibilities (including, sometimes, you the homeowners). In the end, the project was done literally months ahead of schedule and we are very pleased with it. We'd absolutely use Phoenix again if we ever get our act together enough to do another home renovation, which is a big "if" as we are generally lazy people. But we're so glad we finally did this project, after having it on our backburner for over a decade, and that we did it with Phoenix.

Really fantastic experience with Phoenix rebuilding our front stoop/portico and turning our sunroom into a three-season room. In fact, the sunroom turned out so much better than we imagined that we can now just treat it as part of the interior of the house. As many others note, their prices were in the middle of all the bids we got, but the quality made the cost so worth it. Plus, they did not nickel and dime us with extra fees for every tiny thing. The communication from Clint and Steve was outstanding - we never had to ask for info as they continuously kept us updated. One of them stopped by every day. Bob and the crew were fast, efficient and did high quality work. Contractors often flake a day here or there, but Bob showed up all day every day, and they actually finished ahead of schedule. We will absolutely use Phoenix for any future projects.

Clint is on top of his game. From our first meeting throughout design to inspections to final touch-ups, he was available, knowledgeable, and patient. We had a lot of little modifications and requests and I was pretty sure the team was going to be fed up with us, but instead they listened to what we wanted and made it happen. Scheduling was efficient. We got held up by weather and inspections, but the team was transparent with us about their availability and willing to work around our schedule.

In terms of quality of work and the final product -- fantastic! I don't recognize my house. We feel like we just moved into a nicer neighborhood Phoenix is the whole deal. They hire professional, respectful, and friendly staff who care about the work they're doing, get it done quickly, and respect each other.

As homeowners who recently underwent a large renovation, Phoenix Home Services is nothing short of impressive. In only 30 days, Phoenix renovated and transformed our entire first floor including the living room, kitchen, and family room into a stunning, spacious, and comfortable living space. It is like living in a completely new home and we are absolutely in love with the results.

Phoenix employs professional, friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and efficient craftsman who wouldn’t quit the job until it is was completed to our satisfaction. Every space was made functional, every gap made flush, and every screw glued and fashioned tightly, resulting in an esthetically pleasing home revival.

Yes, there were hiccups along the way, as expected, including supply chain and fit and finish issues; yet, none of these glitches had anything to do with Phoenix themselves, their work ethic, craftsmanship, or speed and efficiency. Phoenix went out of their way, above and beyond, to make right those issues when then arose. The entire Phoenix crew should be proud of their work as we are proud to share their workmanship with others.

• Of all the contractors we met with, Phoenix was upfront in Code recognition and enforcement which was one of our deciding factors.
• Has years of experience renovating the older homes in Fairfax and working with the city to obtain permits quicker than expected.
•. On the fly contract add-ons and addendums were handled by Steve, Clint and their crew with patience, professionalism, speed, and ease -- making the process the least amount of stress as possible.
• When a supply chain item was unavailable (our initial flooring selection), Clint was able to help resolve the issue within a couple of hours, putting the project back on track.

Phoenix Home Services was an incredible partner in our bathroom remodels. Clint and his team (Steve, Alan, Julio, Paul) made us feel comfortable every step of the way with thorough explanations of the next steps in our project, total transparency when it came to cost and timeline and helpful guidance. We took two full bathrooms down to the studs and completely remodeled with new floors, vanities, lighting and hardware. The tile work completed by Phoenix was outstanding and every part of the project was completed with total care and attention to detail. From design, to demo to construction, we were pleased with every part of this remodel and look forward to hiring Phoenix for our next project soon.

UPDATE:

This is the third major project that Phoenix has completed at our home, and the results were equally as impressive as the others. The attention to detail and craftsmanship Phoenix brings to any project they take on is second to none, and it was needed to complete our patio and stairs. Phoenix worked with us to reduce costs when possible and communicated clearly about price and scope at every step.

The deck portion of the project was complex and required the demolition of part of the existing concrete pad as well as en expansion of the previous footprint. The stairs required similar attention to detail to match the existing second story deck while preserving landscaping and mature azaleas that could not be replaced. Phoenix handled this task flawlessly while going above and beyond the original scope to make modifications that fit our needs and bring our vision to life.

I would trust Phoenix to complete any project at our home, and we will certainly be calling them for our next project.

We hired Phoenix to put a permanent concrete surface on our driveway and to construct some stone pillars and walls. Prior to finding Phoenix we solicited bids from several contractors for our project. The bids were all over the place and, given the size of our driveway, one contractor did not even want to do the work of measuring it. As a result, we were prepared to move forward with one company handling the concrete pour and another handling the stonework, but still had not found a contractor we liked for the stonework. We were given Clint’s name as a possible resource. We called him and asked him for an estimate on the stone. He offered to provide a bid for both aspects of our project and ended up being the only contractor that could provide a competitive bid for the entire scope of our project. We ended up hiring Phoenix and are extremely happy that we did.

Clint is organized, responsive, and genuinely cared about the outcome of our project. Even when the project ran into weather delays, he promptly kept us informed of revised pour dates, material drops, and estimates for completion. Best of all, Phoenix promptly returned to install our pillar lights (which were on backorder) when they came in (weeks after we had already paid for the entire job).

Phoenix did a complete remodel of my seriously outdated kitchen. After months of planning, it went from really sad circa 1970’s to amazing modern bright in about 6 weeks from demo to final inspection. The work crews arrived on time every day and were total professionals. Everyone was so nice and didn’t mind explaining things to me and offering really helpful suggestions. Each week I got a schedule of upcoming work to be completed. I did have extra expenses over the original contract for subfloors and electric, but with a 60+ year old house, these things are to be expected. In the end I have a beautiful kitchen that is totally up to code and will last for many more years. I will definitely consider Phoenix for any future remodeling.

We had a great experience with Phoenix, they listened to our needs and provided us a creative direction that we otherwise would not have chosen. We started thinking we wanted an enclosed deck and Clint presented us with the option of an open patio space. Phoenix Home Services recently finished our screened in porch and back patio and we are very happy with the final results. Clint was a huge help in the design phase, HOA approvals and County Permits. The finished project was completed within the estimated budget and the team did a great job cleaning the space at the end of the project. Again, Clint and the Phoenix team were very responsive to our questions and kept us informed over the course of the project. The porch and patio look great and we will enjoy this new addition for years to come. We would highly recommend using Phoenix for this type of project in the future.

Our family decided to build an addition for our house that would replace our large deck with a two-story sunroom, dining room, and large second-story balcony. We also remodeled our foyer and sitting room at the same time; this was a large and complex project. At the advice of our architect, we met with Phoenix Home Services to scope the project. Steve Bowes, one of the owners, was the project lead, and he stayed closely involved the entire time.

Scoping went pretty quickly, as our wonderful architect had detailed plans - we met a few times at the house to confirm elements of the plan, and high-level choices for materials, and even met at the Pella window showroom to select windows together. This was our first time doing a project like this, and it was very reassuring to have so much involvement from Phoenix during this phase of the project.

When it came time to sign the contract, Steve reviewed all the terms, in-scope work and materials, and anything that would be considered out-of-scope. This was in the middle of the pandemic, and despite supply chain issues and other uncertainties, I felt we came to a very fair agreement and were given an estimate for when the project would begin, which was several months out. This wasn't a surprise, and actually fit our own schedule very nicely. The payment schedule was also extremely fair, with a portion due up front as a deposit, and then scheduled milestone payments throughout the project - it gave me some reassurance that there was clear motivation to finish construction on time and showed that Phoenix had some skin in the game as well.

As we approached the start date for the project, we had several touchpoints with Steve, and we were well prepared once things got underway. This is when we were first introduced to Les, who led the exterior crew - they built a fortress of an addition. I was concerned that these new rooms would feel less sturdy that the rooms they attach to, but it is incredibly well built and is as solid as any original portion of this house.

As the exterior work progressed, we also got to meet Bob, the master carpenter, who led the interior crew. Bob is incredibly skilled at what he does, and we appreciated how patient he was with us as we changed our minds several times about the design of our interior work and the finishes and details. His work was incredible, and as funny as it sounds, we miss having him around every day!

No project is without issues, though, and we ran into unforeseen problems with the design that resulted in a major change- we were faced with the prospect of having to remodel our primary bathroom unexpectedly. Steve handled this situation as well as could possibly be expected - he was able to get a bathroom remodeling crew assigned quickly, gave us a generous price for the labor, and put forth every effort to turn this change into a positive.

The silver lining is that we got to work with Martin, who did an exquisite job on our bathroom - the attention to detail he had on our tile work was outstanding, and we're thrilled with outcome.

As the project wrapped up, the team was great about managing our mutual punch-list for touch ups, fixes, and miscellaneous items. They finished on time, and the end result looks amazing; we couldn't be happier.

We're not calling anyone else for the next project we do - Phoenix proved that they do great work, care about their customers, and delivered on their promise.

Phoenix was such a pleasure to work with. From the detailed design to the finishing touches, they were responsive every step of the way. Very upfront and transparent about costs and timelines. They did a beautiful job expanding and remodeling our main bathroom, making a much more useable bathroom out of the limited space.

We hired Phoenix Home Services to both renovate and expand the finished space in our basement after we had to replace our sewer pipes. From the start the Phoenix team was very consultative and helped us make good choices about taking the space from disaster to one that everyone actually wants to spend time in. The whole Phoenix team was great to work with and left us feeling like we got something that is even better than we were expecting. We have some future home renovations we are in the early stages of planning and we definitely plan on using Phoenix to make sure that they are done right.

Great service. Great quality. Great price. Clint expertly walked us through a fairly complicated plan to attach a Trex deck to our existing flagstone patio and tie it all into a steep slope. Compared to other companies that either did not bother to return our phone calls, were too expensive, or had several months of delay for construction, Clint immediately sent detailed plans and diagrams at a competitive price and started within a few weeks. We especially appreciated his responsiveness - sending a weekly update with expected work progress and immediately answering any emails or phone calls, even on weekends. Once the deck was framed and we determined it was too small, Clint sent us a new plan the next day, coordinated with the inspectors, and had everything on track without any additional delays. We wholeheartedly recommend Phoenix Home Services for a new deck or other home improvements.

Cant give these guys enough praise on the renovation of our basement. Of course in any renovation unknown things pop up (especially in a home like ours originally built in the 1950's.) But Phoenix tackled it all with ease, professionalism and most of all competence of their craft. Need to move the HVAC? No problem. move the Hot water heater? Easy. Phoenix installed a new deck and remodeled/enclosed an existing patio. The work was done well and with high-end materials, even if it was more expensive than other bidders. Phoenix's greatest strength, from my perspective, is their responsiveness and well-organized communication; they will not leave you confused as to where your project stands and almost always answered questions promptly. After the construction was finished, we had an issue with water leakage during the summer storms, but Phoenix did the right thing and followed through to fix it to our satisfaction. In summary, you will probably pay more with Phoenix, but you will get a higher quality product and deal with good people. We would recommend.

We called Phoenix Home Services because the 80 yr old substructure of our front porch was rotting. They did a great job of rebuilding the porch with new substructure, new flooring, new posts and new railings. They managed to save the roof (still in good shape) which saved us quite a bit of money. Communication was great, with updates and timelines. The workers were quiet and hardworking. All in all, a good experience!

We needed a new concrete driveway, brick walkway and brick stoop in an upscale neighborhood with a very picky HOA. Phoenix Home Services provided an outstanding level of service and craftsmanship. Clint was extremely responsive throughout the whole process, working with us to get the HOA approval for the deck, and when the time came for replacing the necessary pavers around the new posts. We hired Phoenix to renovate our kitchen and dining room which involved knocking down a wall, rerouting plumbing, electrical, and gas, and changing the height of the ceiling in some places. Phoenix finished the job quickly and communicated with us the whole time so we would know what to expect during the project. They were always responsive to our questions and handled a few surprises along the way. The crew did great work in our house and Phoenix works with great subcontractors for cabinets, tile, and counters. The relationship between Phoenix and their subcontractors meant that we just needed to pick what we wanted and they coordinated the rest. Overall a great experience!

We had a great experience with Phoenix Home Services. They remodeled our 1950s basement just in time for us to bring home a little one. Clint was super responsive to all of our concerns in the planning/proposal phase, Steve was incredibly thorough and helpful during the demo/build phase, and Bob was the best to work with in the finishing phase. The rest of the team (plumbing, electrical, etc.) were all phenomenal too -- and we will be using them in the future when we have little things to fix around the house.

Bob's work in particular was amazing. He built all the built-ins on site and ensured that our basement looked exactly how we wanted it to at the end. He was also a delight to work with.

I will say that the only con would be something that all construction projects face - it did go over time significantly. But in the end, it was worth it. They aren't the cheapest company we spoke with, but we are very pleased with their work and will definitely use them in the future.

We contracted Phoenix to design and install an attached screened-in porch and side deck. It is magnificent. We primarily chose them because of the level of detail in the proposed statement of work and other pre-contract artifacts. One of the things that really sold us was that they provided 3D design / renderings up front with no commitment. We thought that this was really helpful for us to understand what we were potentially buying and the sort of design options available to ensure that is what we wanted. Construction was able to start earlier than was originally hoped for / planned, so that was a good for us. They generally had 2 carpenters on site at a time, and a few times were there on Saturday when it had rained one day during the week.

The finished product is gorgeous and very much what we expected and we are so far very happy for choosing Phoenix.

We contacted Phoenix in early 2020 to provide us with a quote for a small covered outdoor space. From the minute we reached out we've been exceedingly impressed with our experience in numerous ways. Our first visit was with Clint who listened to our initial ideas and gave us creative and functional ideas for how to make the space even better. His design blew us out of the water and it was no longer a question of who we would use for this project. Our original idea was a much lower price point than what Clint designed for us but certainly something we will use and love much more than the cheaper, lesser option.

Our experience with Phoenix home services was exceptional and we recommend them highly. They built two patios for us, one behind our house, and one with a fireplace in the woods by our property. I recently had Phoenix Home Service remodel my garage, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. I received quotes from many different contractors before deciding on Phoenix. Some of the quotes were very obviously low-balled, with the contractor encouraging that I have problem areas mudded over and painted to give the appearance of a well-built finished garage. We hired Phoenix Home Services to build a screen porch addition. They did a fabulous job! We had some zoning issues that delayed the start of the porch, but Phoenix took care of the whole process for us. We did not have to lift a finger to fill out any paperwork or deal with any county zoning people. And because there was a delay in starting our project, they gave us free upgrades, even though the delay was not their fault!

Once they started the project, it went incredibly smoothly. They were here everyday at 8 am working away on the project. Every aspect of Phoenix Home Services’ incredible concept design, superior craftsmanship and outstanding project management contributed to our overall five-star, superior rating for quality, cost, schedule and performance. We are planning other home improvement projects—Phoenix Home Services will get our first call for proposals.

Concept Design: SUPERIOR. We asked three contractors to bid on our project. One contractor promised a proposal within “a couple days” but, was unresponsive. A second contractor did provide a proposal about a week after our first meeting. The proposal was incomplete and did not reflect a satisfactory understanding of our design requirements and priorities. In contrast, the Phoenix design team, led by Clint Asmar, Owner and Lead Designer, provided a complete, professional, fully priced proposal including floor plan and three-dimensional computer-generated views of the design within 48 hours after our initial meeting. The design captured every one of our design requirements and priorities, was fully priced and provided a designed construction plan / timeline.
Craftsmanship: SUPERIOR. Phoenix Home Services has assembled an incredible team of master / journeyman stone masons, carpenters, electricians, plumbers and painters many (if not most) of which bring decades of experience to any project. The stone masonry team demolished our old patio, dug ditches for footing, set forms and laid substrate and reinforcing wire all on the first day of work. Pouring concrete started the next day. From that point forward, Tomas and Manuel, Point Masons, led the stone masonry team (Gregorio, Juan) building forms, pouring concrete, applying stone trim, setting travertine patio surface and constructing the outdoor fireplace—all to code and on schedule.

The framing, electrical, plumbing, painting and finishing team were equally impressive. Rudy coordinated each day’s work with the framing team (Naom, Santiago, Sergio), electrician (Mo), painter (Reinaldo), plumber (Geoff) and the landscaping team (Jose, Josue, Rene) to ensure each day ended with measurable progress while preventing rework or delays. As is the case for any project on a 56-year-old house, unforeseen issues (rerouting of vents and electrical wiring restoration) did occur. However, in every case, we were informed of the issue, the recommended fix and any additional costs involved. In every case, the fix was exactly right and cost, if any, was reasonable. All framing, electrical, plumbing painting, finishing and landscaping were completed on-schedule and to code.

Project Management: SUPERIOR. The entire leadership team, Steve Bowes (Owner and Project Manager), Clint Asmar (Owner and Lead Designer) and Brian Rosenheim (General Manager), were personally committed to successful project completion. All of them were on-site repeatedly throughout the project to ensure our satisfaction. Brian Rosenheim was the day-to-day point man for our project. Brian provided us with the construction plan on Mondays outlining planned construction milestones for that respective week. He was on-site most every day to ensure required materials were available and to guarantee our satisfaction. We knew exactly what to expect, how the project should look and when we would be needed on-site for our decisions.

Phoenix built a screen room and patio for us. Clint and Steve were great to work with, the design process went smoothly, they kept us informed every step of the way, and were very responsive when we had questions. Even better, the end result is great and exactly what we wanted!

We are a week into our new kitchen. I find myself standing in there, doing nothing but looking at it and sometimes wondering why I didn't redo kitchen a long time ago. It is beautiful. Phoenix Home Services did an impeccable job. Steve guided the process efficiently, providing useful advice and offering interesting options without being pushy or overbearing. From the electrician to the plumber to the carpentry and finishing crews, all were professional, knowledgeable and highly capable, working quickly to get us into our kitchen while taking care to do the job right and well. It was a pleasure working with all of them. (Attached photos don't do it justice as they are filled with stuff still getting moved back into cabinets.)

When we decided it was time to remodel our 18-year-old master bath, we knew we were treading into deep water with the anticipated cost of the project. So to make sure we chose our contractor wisely, we went overboard and interviewed and received quotes from 12 different companies. Some specialized in just bath and kitchen remodels, while others were experienced in whole house renovations and additions. In the end, we both agreed that Phoenix Home Services was at the top of our list.

One of the things we really liked about Phoenix is they allowed us to select and purchase all our fixtures and materials. That meant we could shop around with anyone to get exactly what we wanted and often pay considerably less. That also allowed us to stay within our budget, yet get higher-quality materials. I will say that it is very difficult to compare quotes from different contractors, as most want you to buy certain things through them (e.g., faucets, tubs)...they give you an allowance, but you aren't really sure what the quality is until you start shopping around. Plus there seems to be a lot of vague indications as to what your allowances are for things other than the major stuff (So how much are you going to charge me for that new exhaust fan? Toilet? Heated floor?).

That is one of the first things that really attracted us to Phoenix. The next was the customer service. We contacted Phoenix and Clint responded within 30 minutes to set up an in-home visit. He was able to come at 8 AM on a Saturday...perfect for us! Clint's a very friendly guy, but he also was attentive and listened to our wants. He asked questions about things we hadn't considered (even though he was the 6th company to come to our house at that point), and gave us some suggestions and ideas to consider. Within 48 hours, he emailed us professional renderings of what our new bathroom would look like. I'll note that some of the others provided renderings, but Clint's were by far the most professional ones we received.

Once our decision to go with Phoenix was finalized, we began the process of purchasing our fixtures and the like. Clint even met us at the tile shop to help us with our selections. When everything arrived, the owner of Phoenix, Steve, stopped by our home to confirm that we had everything we needed. Then we set up a start date, the work began, and that's when we realized we had made the right decision.

The team of Deyvies and Thomas were assigned to do the work at our home. We couldn't be happier with their professionalism and meticulous work ethic. They were so precise in everything they did. When options were available, they would ask us what we wanted. At times, we would have discussions, bounding ideas off each other as to what may look best. They made sure they knew exactly what we wanted. When someone is in your home for three plus weeks, you get to know them quite well. Deyvies and Thomas were amazing. They took such care of our home throughout the entire project. At the start, they put down protective covers on the floors from the garage door entry into our home all the way up to the third floor where the master bathroom is located. They put up a zipwall in our master bedroom, to protect it from construction dust. At the end of each work day, everything was cleaned up and put neatly away so our home didn't look like a tornado had been through it. We appreciated that.

In summary, you never want to have regrets when you spend a lot of money. And this "very particular" couple couldn't be any happier with the communication we had with Phoenix, the meticulous, precise, and responsible work performed by everyone at Phoenix, and, most-importantly, the finished product. We are already discussing next year's project to hire them again!

When we started the process, we had some thoughts, but were not 100-percent positive of what we wanted.  We talked to a number of companies - seeking ideas and estimates.  Clint at Phoenix was the only one to propose stone flooring for the screened-in lower portion of the deck.  We love it!  And are so happy we took that approach and went with Phoenix.  We appreciated his vision and the work of his team.  Clint and Phoenix Home Services were neither the least expensive nor the most expensive.  For us, they offered the best value with the best approach to the project.  To a person, the Phoenix team was an absolute pleasure to work with.  They listened, cared about doing the job right, and gave us an outdoor space that we'll really enjoy for years to come.

We know that one of the most important questions is "would you use them again?"   We're already talking to Phoenix about updating our basement with recessed lighting and a new ceiling.  As a final bonus, the Phoenix team found and corrected a problem with our siding / windows that they were able to quickly address.  If not fixed, the problem would have grown and caused long-term damage.

Our experience with Phoenix, from planning to project completion was excellent. My wife is particularly picky about responsiveness and design flexibility and I'm picky about the crew's professionalism and quality of materials. Clint Asmar and the Phoenix team checked all the boxes! The project was fairly large and complex. We had no major issues and very few challenges. We received less expensive estimates, but Phoenix was in line with the ones we received on the project. We were certainly pleased with the workmanship. The crews were top notch and well supervised. We were pleasantly surprised when Phoenix went the extra mile on more than one occasion without additional cost. For example, I had an in-ground irrigation system in the backyard where the project was planned. Phoenix dug up and reconnected the pipes around the yard and project without a problem or extra cost. I was particularly pleased that they kept project trash/debris to a minimum, cleaned up after themselves, re-seeded grass and placed straw on the back lawn so the yard could bounce back as quickly as possible. My wife had several particular design requests including a custom door installation. Phoenix installed with door with expertise and went the extra mile to respond to my wife’s design requests. Overall, we were very pleased with Phoenix and would definitely hire them for future projects.

After meeting with several contractors to obtain estimates, we chose Phoenix Home Services to build our screen porch and deck. What a fantastic decision it was. We first met Clint to walk through our options and discuss a design. The very next day he had the whole project perfectly laid out in a rendering. Clint walked us through the whole process, explained how he would take care of the necessary city and town permits and sent over a contract and detailed SOW to review. It was quite impressive how quick he responds. Due to other projects in the queue we were told our project would start within five weeks and take four weeks to complete. We were then introduced to Brian the PM who is also very knowledgeable, friendly and responsive. Brian provided a weekly schedule and checked in regularly to make sure things were ok. The construction, paint and electrical crews were efficient and polite. We felt very comfortable they knew what they were doing. Overall, I couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. The quality was better than what we were expecting, the price was as discussed and they were right on schedule. Hire this company!

Unfortunately, I was never able to get past step 1 with Phoenix. They rescheduled on me three times getting a quote, every time finding out just before the appointment. The first two times it was purportedly due to illness, which happens, but that doesn't excuse waiting until noon to call me when I could have gone into work that morning. And the third time they canceled because they just confused the appointment deadline - which is pretty unacceptable given that it was a second reschedule (you should be doing everything in your power to get things right at that point). I literally called another major area contractor, had him draw up a design, and was able to sign a contract between the time I first called them and when they would have (supposedly) finally shown up. How can I trust a company to stick to a timeline that does that?

Had Phoenix Home do a stone patio, walk path and deck expansion. Fantastic job with the design and workmanship. Kept to the project schedule, barring weather condition. Work crew were very courteous and patient with our massive puppy gone loose several times during construction. Will contract with them again for future projects.

When Clint and I first met to discuss my vague idea for a project, the thing that struck me was that he listened, and he listened hard. I wasn’t sure of exactly what I was trying to do, so he asked questions and we developed the project together. Being able to see a 3D rendering was very important, because it allowed us to specifically change the vision.
From beginning to end, he and his amazing team of professionals kept me informed of what was next and what to expect. There were several city permit/approval hurdles that needed to be overcome, and it was painless for me, since Phoenix managed it all. Steve was an invaluable leader, and is one of the most sensitive, thoughtful, resourceful, and cooperative people I have ever met. The entire team of owners and workers were friendly, respectful, and cognizant of the disruption that the project posed in my day-to-day life.
At every stage of the project I was asked if I was happy. At first I wasn’t sure if it was just small talk, but my happiness with the project became the overriding goal of all the effort being made by each of the team. The other thing that I think sets Phoenix apart is the respect that each individual has for each other. They all appreciate each other’s expertise and rely on each other’s opinion without hesitation.
The space on my property, which was to contain the project, was extremely limited and held several challenges for the team, but they confronted each with a positive, can-do attitude, which I found inspiring. They did their best to save my landscaping, and cleaned up afterwards better than I could ever have expected.
I would highly recommend Phoenix for any home improvement project, and I have already scheduled another project for the spring; this, after having added another project that coincided with the completion of the original plan. I have not had a lot of experience with home improvement teams, but I feel fairly certain that I would be hard-pressed to find another group of such fine professionals.

Highly recommend this contractor. We called Phoenix Home Services since we kept getting water in our finished basement. We didn't want a sump pump and Steve, the owner, came up with an elegant solution to redo just one of our gutters, fix some foundation cracks and window well issues, and install french drains. It worked beautifully. His crew is highly skilled, very courteous, and honest. Great straight-forward pricing and truly quality work. Highly recommend.

Edited to add - we are a repeat client. We hired Phoenix to update our kitchen after they did a great job on our bathroom (see below). Once again, knocked it out of the park for us, and stayed within the timelines they estimated. We are so pleased with the new kitchen and how nicely it ties our home together.

Amazing!!!Phoenix Home Services was the last company I called for an estimate to renovate our Master Bathroom. I had been meeting with contractors for months and was taking my time because there was no rush on our end. Their Designer Clint met with me on the weekend, which I appreciated because we were so busy during the week. He heard everything I said about what we needed, and what type of style we were looking for. A few days later Clint provided me with designs of *exactly* what I wanted. Within a couple weeks the project kicked off. They stayed well within the estimated timeline for the project. I would receive detail oriented emails with timelines and updates to the project, and payment schedules. Every few days a project manager would stop by to check on the work. They were very thorough and flexible to our needs. Clint was very responsive and helped keep the project on track. I was especially grateful for Phoenix Home Services ability to think outside the box when we hit a couple challenges with the project. We will be calling them again, and again, and again. I recently used Phoenix Home Services to build a large patio under my new deck. I had three estimates for the construction and although Phoenix was a little higher in price, my instinct was telling me Phoenix was the best choice. I'm glad I listened to my instinct because I could not be happier. The sales rep/designer (Clint) was super to work with and helped me with the design, offering his opinions when I asked for help. More importantly he stayed in touch with me through out the project to make sure I was happy. The construction crew lead by Brian were simply outstanding. I'm a stickler for crews picking up after themselves, and the Phoenix crew tidied and put away their tools everyday. In fact after using my hose they took the time to roll it back up exactly as they found it. The final product turned out even better than I imagined. When the project was over my yard was free of debris.

There was absolutely no frustration with this project; Phoenix made this easy. They delivered EXACTLY what they promised. You might save a few bucks using somebody else, but I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for. I'll be using Phoenix Home Services again.

From the first visit through final walk through Phoenix maintained confidence and delivered a quality product beyond any other porch addition I have seen.

Phoenix Home Services did a fantastic job on my master bathroom. The bathroom was all the original tile, fixtures, cabinets and tub/shower. Very dated and shabby. Phoenix suggested a re-design of the space that's made it more spacious, functional and beautiful and Clint provided a 3-D drawing that allowed me to visualize how it would look when completed. The men who managed the project and did the renovation where truly professional and great to work with. They paid attention to details and consulted with throughout the project. I would hire Phoenix again and highly recommend them if you're doing renovations and updates to your home. Thank you Phoenix!

Are you looking to add a porch to your home? We started our search by considering design, price and quality of several companies. Phoenix Home Services gets an “A” in each area. From preparing the design and writing the contract, Clint Asmar from Phoenix listened to us and developed the plan we were looking for, at a price within our budget. The work was professionally completed, within timelines. The porch looks like it was always a part of our home, and we had many neighbors and friends comment about how it’s added to the overall look of our home. Another part of Phoenix is their being there after the project is complete. I called Clint with something I wanted him to look at over a year after it was built. He came out and said that it needed to be taken care of. Again, the Phoenix team responded to this, and they professionally completed the work. We highly recommend them.

We are so happy with our new 32 ft x16 ft screened-in-porch and deck! Phoenix operated as one unified team to delivered top-notch customer service throughout the process. We talked to four different contractors about the project and selected Phoenix based on Clint's responsiveness, willingness to educate us while answering our (many!) questions, and the CAD drawings that helped us visualize what the project would look like. The different crews (demo of the old deck, digging, and building) were all very professional, courteous, and quick. Especially Ethan and Holman, who were meticulous in building it and wrapping it in maintenance-free Azek. Steve made sure all our "punchlist" items were promptly addressed to our satisfaction before we paid our final bill.

The result is amazing!! We love sitting out in the screened-in-porch and listening to the birds and, when it rains, we can still enjoy reading or eating in the fresh air while staying dry. It brings much needed warmth and joy to your home that we will enjoy for many years.

I would like to recommend Phoenix Home Services and its staff. My wife and I were pleased with the project that they did on the exterior of our home. The project manager, Clint Asmar, was very professional and precise in his work. He did an excellent job of communicating with us each day and insuring that the project progressed on schedule. All of the Phoenix staff were courteous and hard working.

The project was to create a structure to cover an exterior staircase that descended from the ground level to an underground entry door to the basement. Because that area was totally exposed from above, the only way to prevent the basement from flooding during a heavy rain was a drain at the bottom that fed into a sump pump inside that pumped the water outside. Periodically, the sump pump would not operate due to electricity going out during a lengthy storm or to some blockage in the system. We were told that installing a back up battery would necessitate creating a much deeper hole under the basement floor. We decided to have the staircase covered with a small roof and a gutter system installed that would direct water away from the foundation and staircase. There were several challenges, One was to create a system that would effectively deal with our heavy rains and winds. Another was to build something that would not be unsightly but would harmonize with the architecture of the sixty year old house. I believe that Phoenix did an excellent job on both matters. The shingles of the roof match the shingles of our existing roof and the color of the pillars match the color of the siding and the columns in front of the house. The new structure looks like a natural extension of the house.

Excellent company! We had several major projects done by Phoenix and we can't say enough positive things about them and their work. Their work product is perfection and they are the most dedicated and positive company I've ever worked with. Their prices are competitive but their work is outstanding. Excellent, excellent on all points from construction to worker to staff. So very thankful we were able to find such a wonderful, trustworthy company.

They did incredible work. I just bought the house and they literally started a day after the sale went through. In a month they had the basement totally renovated with flooring walls, ceiling, 2 wet bars, a totally new bathroom, and a laundry room.
All changes were designed by Clint and managed by Steve and his crew. I basically gave them the keys to the basement all month and let them run with it with only occasion calls for clarification. They were able to get the whole place renovated, painted, cleaned up, and permitted within a month. I've had issues in the past with other referrals but these guys are the real deal. Thanks for the great work!

We had an amazing experience working with Clint Asmar and the Phoenix Home Services team! We had new walkways, patios, foundation repairs, water management system and a driveway installed. The entire project was planned exceptionally well and the professionalism and quality of work they did is absolutely outstanding! During the recent cold snap my daughter noticed a very small crack and the Phoenix team fixed it right away. Clint made sure I was aware that it was covered under the warranty before I had a chance to ask. You simply can't beat that kind of commitment to customer satisfaction! We contracted Phoenix Home Services to build a large deck with a jacuzzi area and stone landing, a lower stone patio with a fire pit, and stone steps connecting both.  A very beautiful design and top quality craftsmanship!  We could not be happier with the project and the people who made it a reality.  Clint, Brian, Steve, and their crews were easy to work with and very professional at every stage of the project.  They responded to all our concerns promptly and efficiently.  Our admiration goes to Rembert (master stonemason) and Ethan (master carpenter) for their craftsmanship and attention to detail.  They were able to easily work with our specific design requirements and make our vision a reality.  We highly recommend Phoenix and would happily contract them again for future projects.

Phoenix and their team are amazing. Highly recommend. Clint and Steve are very responsive and accommodating. Clint has fabulous design ideas. We did a huge makeover of our master bath moving everything. Our laundry room was relocated from the main floor to the master suite. Lots of plumbing and electrical had to be done. Deyvis was always on time and did fantastic work. Dan is absolutely genius with custom built-ins for the closet and he made custom barn doors for the master. Phoenix was able to deliver a stunning master suite and a gorgeous hall bath. Every room they worked on is way above the vision we had. We cannot speak more highly of a company and their work ethic and integrity.

They helped design and build a screened in porch and stone patio for our single family home in 2014. Our designer (Clint) was good at providing visual designs/options to us and getting all the "paperwork" completed. I appreciated his ideas and not just "yes" to everything we wanted. We were happy with the outcome of the project overall. I did have to stay proactive on getting the team to fix things under their warranty coverage (Example: Had to wait weeks on status and had to be proactive to follow up with them, but they did complete them to our satisfaction).

Our front door had issues to fully open and there were worked on a couple of times during the warranty coverage (never fully opened and floorboard scratched). In hindsight we should of noticed the ground settling to fix it permanently, but it wasn't until years later (2021) when we really looked at it. We gave Phoenix first dibs. We were disappointed with the analysis/options and ended up going another route at a lower cost point. They did try to provide some help to us to mitigate some of the concerns but it did not fit out overall needs. The original design did not account for possible future factors and that showed during our conversations (something I believe we both grew in experience on what to look for in the future). They do execute your needs, but you do have to stay proactive.
