Can't say enough good things about the service l received from Penner Roofing. He went above and beyond what I expected. I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone who needs handyman or new Roofing and plan on having them do my small renovation in the future. Thank you Tim for your service.

Tim was called over to my home to fix a damaging roof leak that had been improperly “repaired” twice to no good effect by another companies repair man who was under equipped to trace or repair my leak( think collapsible ladder and bucket of tar)Tim and his coworker actually went in my attic to try to trace the source of the leak. As it was not clear where exactly water was penetrating the structure he took the wise step of carefully removing an entire section of shingles and a 4x8 sheet of OSB. He then applied ice and water membrane to this sheet and carefully reattached the shingles and the sheet. He said I’m sure you’ll have no further issues from this leak and he was right. Here we are almost 2 months later and that leak is not a problem. What I liked about Tim besides his honest and pleasant demeanor was his very accurate appraisal of the bigger issue affecting my roof. I knew for a fact when I bought my home a year ago ( it’s 13 years old) that there was an issue that would have to be addressed sooner or later: A thorough home inspection was done before I purchased and it was evident that although there was lots of insulation in the attic the builders had not been diligent in ensuring that adequate channels for ventilation had been established to allow for air circulation. This is evident as the attic is warmer than it should be and the nails that protrude through the shingles are rusted from the heat differential and likewise there is evidence of OSB sheeting getting damp. The builders basically stuffed the insulation all the way to the outer edges of the attic blocking critical free airflow and trapping moisture. So while Tim was able to effectively pinpoint the general area of my leak and get that leak fixed to my satisfaction I was more impressed with his accurate assessment of a bigger issue that I knew existed even though it was not giving me grief at the time. I asked Tim to give me a quote to fix my roof and he delivered the quote exactly when he said he would three days later. He gave me three different options for fixing my roof properly and also addressing ventilation. I ultimately decided my best option was to replace the entire roof even though I might have gotten another 5 years out of my roof with some other options. Tim is going to replace any punky sheets and at the same time pull all the sheets at the lowest edges of the roof to be able to access the insulation and create the oh so necessary air channels. He will also liberally apply a high quality membrane under the shingles and I’ve also decided to replace all the eaves trough too since he has the machine and I may as well make my roof and gutters look new together. When it comes to looking after your home.. Water and moisture are the number one beast and in BC. Speaking about provinces, Tim recently moved provinces and has brought his roofing company out here from Manitoba where he has been in operation for many years. He is aghast at the lack of quality and shoddy roofing techniques he has seen here on newer construction. In talking to Tim, it was obvious that he is very conversant and knowledgeable on all things roofing. I have no reservations using him and had a good chat with a fellow pilot I’ve worked with for decades with who just happens to be his relative. That conversation sealed the deal for me and confirmed what I already suspected.. that Tim is a man of his word and would give me a great quality roof. I am looking forward to an upcoming weather window for Tim and his crew to replace my roof and am happy that several of my neighbors are wanting him to replace their roofs too.

Several factors influence roof repair cost, including the extent of the damage, roof accessibility, material type, labor costs, and whether it’s a general repair or an emergency fix. Minor repairs can start around $150–$400, while major repairs may exceed $1,500.
Roof leak repair cost generally ranges from $300 to $800, depending on the size and location of the leak, the materials required, and labor intensity. Complex leaks involving structural repairs or interior damage will cost more.

Mobile home roof replacement cost typically ranges from $3,000 to $8,000, making it generally more affordable than traditional home roof replacements, due to smaller size and simpler structure.
It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.
The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.
To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.
Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.
When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.
Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
