Pearl Painting Drywall Finishing & Repair

We hired the owner of the company on Nov 22nd, 2024 to repair our ceiling due to a water leak. First impressions are very important to me as well as how the business is conducted from start to finish. We scheduled the estimate appointment at 6 pm on 11/22/24, The owner forgot the date and time of the appointment so I had to reconfirm, upon arriving the owner was late stating that he went past the house okay I'll give you grace for that but once we set the date to start he forgot again, Finally the date and time was set and agreed upon, the 1st day he was late stating he had a meeting on his other job, (If we signed and the contract was accepted your 1st commitment should have been with us) after all we made the necessary arrangements to have someone present for you to start on time with the 1st payment you requested actually we gave him more than what he requested?? Finally day one is done, we agreed on the 2nd day and time confirmed but yet again he did not honor that time and for me that's a problem because I take people at their word and when your actions don't reflect what you speak that isn't good now before anyone assumes that I'm bitter or trying to give the business a bad name I'm not, it was just a bad experience and I would suggest using caution and realize that my experience may not be the next client experience. The second day the owner wanted to know if the payment would be there when he arrived when I had already confirmed that the payment would be there when he arrived, that shows me that your hardpress for the money. Days 3-5 the same results as far as stating a time and arriving way after the time we agreed to. Time management is very important amongst other things when I'm in business transaction. The 5th day and the final day the owner contacts me and states that he was doing the touch ups and stated that the color of the current work that he completed does not match the original paint and we would need to paint it to match, I was frustrated and upset to hear this news and asked W.S. why he didn't say anything prior to completion that way if that was the case it could of been added to the contract he agreed with my statement and quoted a price if we wanted to have that additional work done well the quoted price was outrageous and I told him no that was high and gave a amount that I thought was feasible then he took it down from the outrageous price to 100.00 less and my answer was still no and I stated what I thought was reasonable but we couldn't agree so we finished the conversation, about 10 minutes later I got a text stating that he could do the job for what I quoted but we would need to purchase the paint. My response was no why should we go out of our way to purchase paint when we didn't do that for the initial project everything was included in that. I told him we were in disbelief and will do it ourselves or hire someone else to complete this small task. I shared with him that the right thing to do because we felt he knew that it didn't match when he was installing and spot checking his work prior to completion that it didn't match was to communicate the findings and let us decide what we wanted to do but that was not the case and this truly showed us (hubby and I) that the professionalism and craftmenship went out the door and it was then attempting to take advantage of us because the payments were valid and available immediately so I feel it's about the money and not about customer satisifaction. The takeaway this could have been rectified if the owner was honest and willing to complete the task but instead he Thanked us for the business.
