We purchased a home august 2016, it had a brand new roof on it. That winter we had lots of leaking through our roof causing thousands of dollars in interior damage. Peak Construction Installed the roof, that information came from the previous owner who paid peak to instalI it and who i was in regular contact with this winter( Also peak construction confirmed they installed the roof to me). After all the leaking I called peak to come help shovel the snow and place heat tape up there. He said they would be here one day and then just not show up or call. I would call him and he would say sonething came up and that he would here tomorrow. Same thing, no show no call. I would call him and no apology just that something else came up. This went on for weeks. The reason I kept calling him is first, he built the roof, and second he's one of the only roofers in town. After 3 weeks of the run around he said he'd be here in the morning at 8, 11 came around and he wasn't there so I called and he was rude and said he'd be there when he could probably around 12. 2pm rolls around and he hadn't shown. My wife called him and he was rude to her but said he'd be there. They eventually showed up and spent as much time taking smoke breaks as they did working. Then he went to the door and and he double charged my wife. My wife hates it when I'm not home for this kind of stuff because she's afraid she'll get taken advantage of, after dealing with peak construction I now know why. I called him from work pissed that first, he was a jerk to us then tried to take advantage of my wife. He agreed to bring our check back and we wrote him one for the agreed amount. On top of that when I came home I found many pieces of my roof in the snow pile they shoveled off.

A few months later I hire another roofer to replace the problem area on our roof and when they pull up the shingles they find a 2-3ft hole in the underlayment that Peak tore and just covered up with shingles. The water was just running into my attic and damaging the interior of three rooms. Aweful customer service and worse quality of work. I'll try to post a photo if I can figure out how. Stear clear!

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?
+-

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
