Came home to find their flyer wedged into my front door. First of all, you trespassed onto private property on a private drive. Then you littered and I had to remove and dispose of the flyer. Moreover, I would never do business with your storm-chasing company based out of state.
I truly regret choosing this company for our window replacement project. I wish they had never rung our doorbell.
From the very beginning, things felt off. During the initial walkthrough, the sales rep quickly zeroed in on an insurance claim for our windows. What followed was uncomfortable—he became rude and aggressive when we questioned their paperwork, which clearly favored the company with little protection for the customer. My wife and I requested changes.
Against my better judgment, we agreed to Andersen wood windows. Unfortunately, we soon discovered that Andersen's post-production quality control was severely lacking. Many of the windows arrived with visible defects: chunks of stain, planer marks, glass imperfections, poor glue joints—you name it. Their approach seems to be "install first, fix later," which meant some repairs may have compromised the integrity of the windows even further.
The back-and-forth between Andersen and the installation company became exhausting. Neither seemed willing to take responsibility. On top of that, the installation itself was sloppy: mitered trim filled with putty instead of precision cuts, nail and staple holes covered by a thick matte border of filler, and most of the window trim sits noticeably proud of the walls—unlike the clean finish of our previous windows.
The team arrived with dirty drop cloths despite my request for clean ones, used saws in our children’s rooms and near our couches without dust collection, and generally disregarded basic jobsite etiquette. If I hadn’t personally caught and flagged a large number of issues, I doubt any of them would have been addressed.
One frustrating detail: I asked for the stain color used on the windows so I could match new baseboards. After many emails, they told me who had done the original trim staining. When I followed up and ordered baseboards from that company, the color was completely off. Turns out they gave me the wrong company, and never offered an apology or to make it right.
This ordeal dragged out over a year and a half due to having to reorder defective windows. When I requested a walkthrough to assess the remaining issues, I was met with hostility and told my 50% deposit wasn’t enough—they demanded 80% before they'd even discuss further work.
This entire process added so much stress to my life. I wish I had gone with a different company and different windows altogether. I wouldn’t recommend this experience to anyone.
My new windows look amazing. The PCS Residential Team were so great at communicating with me every step of the way. And just really darn nice people. Recommend Highly for your next project.
