Owen was great to work with and stuck with me while going through the insurance company. Jonathon was amazing as the project manager, Brian and Jason were fantastic in our home. I would highly recommend every single person who came into our house and the work they did. Great communication throughout and a pleasure to have in our home. Thank you
My mom's house was having issues with the roof leaking due to a storm. Jonathan, the Project Manager, was such a huge help walking us through each and every step of the process. He kept track of everything for us, was very informative of the process, and was very profressional and personable. The house looks great and the contractors that came were wonderful people. Thank you Paul Davis Restoration of Northern De.
We had an unpleasant and long-lasting experience with Paul Davis Restoration of Northern Delaware after someone drove their car into my husband’s home office. To their credit, Paul Davis did send out someone immediately, in the middle of the night, to board up the wall that was damaged. Almost everything after that was bad, though.
- About six weeks in, our project manager told us they would be able to get started on repairs in a couple of weeks, and the repairs would take 4-5 weeks — a grand total of 10-12 weeks from accident to finished restoration.
- It took five months, one week, and six days to repair one room. That’s about 24 weeks, not 10-12.
Paul Davis subcontracted this job to another company, and unfortunately, all of the negative feedback I have about that company is going to Paul Davis, too.
- There were TWO no-call, no-shows from the company on Saturdays. These were Saturdays that my husband and I cleared so we could be home to accommodate the construction company. We sat at home and wasted our days off waiting for people who didn’t show. The first occasion, they didn’t show AND our project manager couldn’t be reached.
- They left beer bottles in the pile of unused lumber in my backyard, so they were actively drinking while working on my house.
- They smeared grout on my toilet, light switch, bath spigot, and door handles.
- They grouted the tile in the wrong color, and the person who did the tile spoke limited English and could not understand when I tried to tell him the color was wrong.
- They ground out the grout to try to replace it with the correct color, and it was sloppy and unsafe — lifted tiles, uneven grouting, and patches of the wrong color still showing.
- They had to rip up the tile and start over.
- The paint job was sloppy and required multiple touch-ups.
- We allowed them to use our broom and dustpan. They swept through some kind of compound and didn’t bother wiping it off the broom — now the bristles are stuck together.
- They regularly left my screen door flapping in the wind. When several people were bringing in materials at one time, the door would be left open and flies or wasps would come in.
To my knowledge, none of the delays were the fault of my insurance company. The late start can be attributed to a permit delay, but the permit was granted on May 20th. “Four to five weeks of work,” should have ended by the end of June. My house wasn’t finished until August 28th. The entire process was frustrating and disappointing, and we would go out of our way to warn our friends and family to look for help elsewhere.
