We would not recommend this company/contractor and anyone considering obtaining services should check with the Arkansas Contractor’s License Board for their current status. For at least 3 months during our project the contractor did not have a valid license, it was expired (unbeknownst to us).
Unfortunately, we had an almost identical experience as the previous customer/reviewer. The contractor provided no project scheduling, oversight and management on our remodel project (kitchen, baths, bedroom, living area). Subs showed up with no forewarning, at all times of the day and night, holidays included, yet had no direction or guidance on what they were supposed to accomplish or were sent at the wrong phase of the project. We had to take time out of our workday to provide guidance to the subs, the whole reason we hired a contractor to manage our project in the first place. We paid a pretty penny to receive zero project management services. The few times the contractor actually showed up onsite was to collect payment.
Much of the work had to be redone multiple times or fixed by us or others. One crew would destroy another crew’s work. Our brand new flooring was damaged by a careless framing crew. Trying to resolve the damaged floor was time consuming and frustrating to say the least. We also spent countless hours cleaning up after the various subs who performed work at our home.
We were treated with a complete lack of professionalism, respect for our time or consideration of our home. In fact, we were treated like we were a total nuisance, and we were never asked if we were satisfied with the work being performed. We also received very rude and unprofessional text messages or a complete lack of response from the contractor. We were constantly left in limbo as to whether or not the contractor had abandoned our project. Our project was quoted at 8 weeks and took over 5 months to complete.
This company did a poor job managing an attic rebuild. The entire project had multiple errors due to the lack of the contractor’s presence on the job site. Subcontractors arrived on the wrong days without information on what and where the job was in the house. They were not directed to use the house's back door, even though we repeatedly asked the contractor to have them use that door. We had to direct the subcontractors on where and what to do multiple times. In one instance, there was a subcontractor that stood ringing the doorbell for 20 minutes, knocking on the window where my husband was presenting in a zoom call (he works from home) before he could get up to get the door for them and direct them to use the back door that was unlocked. The contractor also repeatedly left the yard fence gate open when we asked her to let her subcontractors know they needed to close it because of our dog. The dog got out of the yard one day, and we had to drive around for 45 minutes before we found him. There were multiple errors on the project because of the lack of direction from the contractor to the subs, and much of the work had to be redone and fixed. The subcontractors expressed their frustration with the lack of organization and communication of Park Place to them while working on our job.
The contractor abandoned the job after four months without finishing the final two steps of the job: installing white gutters to match the rest of the house and fixing the wood floor. This consisted of restoring the original floor that was not properly covered within the construction site and properly lining up boards in a closet. The gutters installed were almond, while the rest of the house has white. She told us our gutter color was discontinued and offered us glossy white or a cameo color. Both are significantly different from the rest of the house. She also told us there was nothing more she could do on the wood floors. I called a gutter company, and they promptly gave me an estimate on white gutters within two days of her abandoning our job. They told me my white color was available. I called a wood floor restoration company and obtained an estimate to fix the errors on the wood. The contractor, Stevie, has sent unprofessional texts and threatened to add a 5% fee on the pending invoice while we were waiting for estimates to complete the job. The contractor was unavailable throughout the entire job, rude, and extremely difficult to work with. This simple job with no plumbing should have taken 6-8 weeks. It took over four months before Park Place abandoned the job without finishing.
My Husband and I have rental houses throughout McKinney and we have found our forever roofing company. Park Place Roofing has replaced three roofs so far and we could not be happier with the quality of work. Brenda the owner is so easy to work with. She does what she says and says what she does.
