Owenhouse Ace Hardware Downtown

I admit that over 27 years I have purchased hardware-store items from about every store in Bozeman that sells it. But when I have a problem to solve and I know I need good customer service I always to Owenhouse downtown.

Yesterday I thought I had figured out a way to fit speakers to stands not designed for those speakers. I came in with measurements, photos, and a sketch of what I thought would work. Rob helped me out. First he had me get a speaker and stand so he could see what we were working with. He listened to my ideas and explained his thinking, coming up with an elegant solution to craft a small platform. It was far superior to what I had proposed, as we discovered my solution wouldn’t have fit with the stand design. Rob was resourceful and patient, and went above and beyond to make sure I was set before I walked out of there! Not only that, but several other team members made sure I was being taken care of during the whole process. Excellent customer service at Owenhouse Downtown—every time!!

Great service, incredible staff and range of product. Gary has practically built our house, always helpful and friendly, its the go-to.

Not only is this store immaculate, the employees are top notch, well-informed, articulate, courteous, and highly educated about the products they sell. A special touch is their willingness to share information, guide consumers to the exact location of the aisle they seek, and they have a lovely selection of cold drinks and an array of snacks at checkout. You can find high-end cooking implements, gorgeous handmade bowls, candles, spices, detergent, any kind of glue, screw, seed, you name it. What a wonderful asset to downtown Bozeman.

Best hardware store in town based on customer service. The employees are all super helpful and will actively hunt you down and make sure you're helped. It's refreshing.

Jennifer really went above and beyond to get my car keys working again. It wasn’t a straightforward fix, so she had to do a lot of problem solving to get it done. She’s nice too!

Went looking for paint for a small project and experienced incredible service, care and conversation from Mia, who steered us toward a great mistint option that worked out great. She went the extra mile, which keeps us coming back to this location year after year. Thanks!

They didn’t have the part I needed, but they directed me to another store where I might be able to find it and were super helpful

Richard was incredibly helpful. I was looking for a very specific kind of pliers, and he could have just pointed me to an aisle, instead he took the time to open up the box, make sure we had a match, and even helped me remove the washer that was being difficult. He didn’t have to do any of that. The whole time he was enthusiastic, entertaining, and kind. If it was up to me I’d double his pay, that man is a gem.

Wonderful hometown hardware store. They have a wide selection, knowledgeable staff, and are easy to swing in and out of with the rear parking. They have a large kitchen department and a bike shop across an alleyway. Thanks for running a great store!

First time ever going to this store.
It had its pros, which were few.
Great selection. Clean store.
However….
I was initially ignored by a group of 3 females working in the paint department, as I was desperately trying to find items in the store. I was snubbed by yet another female working in the store. I eventually found my items and made my way to the cash register.
The cashier’s native language is not English, which is not a problem to me normally, but I had to keep asking for her to repeat things. I began to get frustrated that I could not interpret what she was saying.
Finally spoke to a manager who was so very rude. I was treated with utter disrespect and indignity.
I understand it is the Christmas season and people are overwhelmed, but this entire experience has driven me from doing business here. It’s just better to shop where I am valued, which was not the case here.

Tyler was super helpful in helping me find what I needed and he went above and beyond. It's that kind of personal help that keeps me going back.

Such a wonderful store! They have a brilliant selection that makes it seem like they have anything you could possibly desire, and they have a wonderful staff that are all very helpful and pleasant and seem to really enjoy being there! I definitely recommend this store!

People here are always nice and very helpful… at least they try every effort they can ..,to help….. products that you’ve never seen before are here so, you might wanna go check the housewares department:)

Ace, this is the biggest a store I’ve ever been to and still after all this time, Ace is the place. Ken, Charles, Matthew and Will. I love the people that work here.

Owenhouse Hardware is my go-to place for almost every home repair and household need. It is well stocked, organized, and staffed by plenty of helpful and friendly people.

My go-to hardware store in Bozeman. Been here for a long time. Great staff, super helpful. Having a bike shop semi attached is an awesome bonus!

In addition to all of the elements you expect from an Ace store - helpful, collaborative staff and extensive hardware - both Owenhouse Ace locations in Bozeman have an extensive collection of kitchen supply items (including specialty items from Le Creuset, Cuisinart, KitchenAid, etc.).
The unique hallmark of the downtown location is a great bike shop directly behind the hardware store.

Raquel helped me with paint and i truly couldn't have had a better experience. She was patient, kind, and truly the embodiment of what ace employees should be like. I love visiting my neighborhood ace wherever i am living and so far owenhouse ace has not disappointed. I appreciate this ace every time I come in! Thanks!

Worst knife sharpening service I've ever experienced. Dropped my knives off on a Friday, called the following Friday to check in and got a snarky response about them giving me a call when they were done. I'm a chef in the community and have used their service before with no issue. Two weeks after the drop off date, I picked them up without getting anything done. Do not recommend the sharpening end of this location.

Great place with super helpful people. If you have a home project, this is where to go for both parts and advice.

This Ace is absolutely the best place on earth. I have gone here since I was a child and have always gotten the best quality of service. Whether it's bolts or paint, ace will always provide! I highly recommend this Ace to anyone in need of practically anything. They always provide wonderful service and are always friendly and kind. I am an eagle scout and would award each of these employees with the exact same thing for their ability to meet needs and lend a helping hand as well as going above and beyond for each customer.

I love going into the downtown ACE. I can easily walk there from my house and always bring my little dog who is now known by most of the salespeople.There is always someone ready and eager to help. When I was little, there was a wonderful hardware store on the main avenue of my hometown. It had wood floors and wall cabinets on the doors of which hung examples of the merchandise inside--a tantalizing array of screws and nails and hooks, etc. I remember the kind salesmen and can even conjure up the smell. ACE Downtown has many of the same qualities, the foremost one being the friendly, informed salespeople who make every visit a pleasure. My dog agrees!

As a person with little hardware knowledge, I rarely have a good experience in places like this. I visited this Ace hardware after a stripped bolt came loose on my bike rack while passing through town. The staff member was so helpful, friendly, and not condescending at all. They had everything I needed and even let me borrow loctite for the new bolts.

Called ahead and they got the stuff for me ready for curbside pick up. Stay wore masks and we're helpful. Went above and beyond when my battery died before I could leave, they helped jump my car!

Today I came in to purchase a new can of paint because my original selection was horrible. Denver at the paint counter was more than helpful and provided great costumer service to my boyfriend and I. There are very few people that go out of their way to help you the way Denver did. I am very appreciative of that!

Usually has what I'm looking for, but brands change sometimes when I go in looking for something.

Manager told me that a discontinued product has a high turn over rate so they were not willing to discount it. Checked batch number and not only is it discontinued but its manufacture date is 3 years old. Dishonest to sell discontinued product at full retail. What happens if a customer uses it and comes back for more? SOL?
Don't appreciate being lied to when I'm just trying to help turn over your inventory.

Eric, I appreciate the reply but how can a batch of dented cans from 2017 have a high turn over rate? Besides the fact the two SKU have different fill levels and definitely tint different, how can you guarantee a batch of paint from a discontinued sku manufactured in 2017 is going to tint exactly the same as a current batch?. The updated sku has been around almost 2 years now. Your ace BM rep is brand new right? Has he even used that product?

BTW I'm in your store all the time and that's not the only product you have on your shelves that's ancient and your charging full retail for. One batch number I checked was so old BM had recycled the batch numbers already.

Every employee is great except every time I go in here except for recently. I was helped by an older woman named Roberta, I believe. Rude as rude gets. Talked trash about her coworkers the whole time to the point where I felt bad for the other employees. Very terrible customer service and very unfriendly. I’m surprised they have her out on the sales floor where she can freely be so disrespectful

Was so happy with my experience at ACE hardware. Theresa was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Rarely do I get to experience such a great customer service!

Great place. Small engine shop knows their stuff. Always helpful as long as you have the right information going in. If not they try and help but may need more from you. Would highly recommend to purchase mowers, snowblower , chainsaw from.

the staff here go out of their way to make sure your shopping experience is well accommodated and that youre not lost in the aisles. Legitimately the friendliest bunch of staff ive ever encountered in any retail setting. i really appreciate the hometown feel of shopping here

If you are looking for the Alpaca socks or hats, they have them here. A bit pricey but worth it. They make great skiing socks.

Awhile ago, the parking worked somewhat. Today, the parking is nonexistent. With the growth of Bozeman and the tourism it is very difficult to find any parking. If you do, it's not easy to load your supplies. You have to carry them through traffic to get to your vehicle.
Employees are very nice and helpful!
