Customer reviews for Outdoor Designers predominantly reflect a positive sentiment, with numerous clients praising the professionalism, communication, and quality of work exhibited by the team. Many customers noted that the team was punctual, kept the worksite clean, and delivered projects that matched their visions perfectly. However, a few serious complaints emerged regarding poor workmanship and unsatisfactory post-project service, particularly concerning leaks and unresponsive customer care. These negative experiences highlight significant concerns about reliability and follow-up, which slightly tarnish the overall positive feedback.
- The entire process was smooth and professional.
- John's approach was very straightforward and practical.
- Quality of work was beyond excellent.
- John was great with communicating with us.
- The job was absolutely perfect.
- The porch leaks whenever it rains and windows and the door do not shut properly.
- John blows us off and will not come and fix what they did wrong.
- I called two other companies to come and check out the leak and poor workmanship.
- No one ever came out to fix the loose board.
- They would not fix the leak since they said the warranty is up after a year.

What a great job the crew of Outdoor Designers did on my composite deck and vinyl handrail work. They showed up everyday, and when it rained, they notified me they were standing by for the rain to stop. As much as you hear about contractor under-performance, this crew was Fantastic! I would recommend John Bowes and his Outdoor Designers Team to anyone.

We had a great experience with Outdoor Designers! The entire process was smooth and professional. John and his team designed and created the exact vision we had in mind. The team was professional, cleaned up the worksite each day and finished the job expeditiously. Our screen room was a 17' x 20' built on an existing slab. We are super happy with this space. We've been out there everyday, even in teh summer heat and humidity. NO BUGS! I would highly recommend Outdoor Designers!

We wanted to replace our 30+-year-old wood deck with a composite structure and add a screened porch. I interviewed 4 or 5 companies and a neighbor who recently had a porch built by John and his team. John's approach was very straightforward and practical. It was clear he had a lot of building experience and knowledge. He worked harder to get my business than the others and provided the best quote. We were very comfortable with our choice to go with Outdoor Designers. John never promised something he couldn't deliver and his recommendations/modifications were spot on. I can't say enough good things about his loyal crew (the 2 Daves and also his son, Andrew). They were always professional, polite and committed to getting it done exactly the way I wanted. The deck and porch were done on schedule but the deck railing took extra time. I wanted special railing and there was unavoidable delay in getting some materials. It didn't really matter because it was through the winter. My only suggestion is to document modifications/changes in writing but that's my advice for any contractor and project.
In summary, we are thrilled with our new deck and porch and experience with Outdoor Designers. We would definitely use them again and have highly recommended them to our friends.

The average roof replacement cost for a residential home typically ranges from $7,000 to $15,000, depending on factors such as roof size, chosen materials, roof pitch, and labor rates in your area. Premium materials or complex designs may increase the price.
The cost to replace the roof of a commercial building typically ranges from $5 to $12 per square foot, depending on several factors such as roof size, material, labor rates, building type, and local code requirements.
Several factors influence roof repair cost, including the extent of the damage, roof accessibility, material type, labor costs, and whether it’s a general repair or an emergency fix. Minor repairs can start around $150–$400, while major repairs may exceed $1,500.
Roof leak repair cost generally ranges from $300 to $800, depending on the size and location of the leak, the materials required, and labor intensity. Complex leaks involving structural repairs or interior damage will cost more.
Flat roof repair cost for commercial properties usually ranges from $500 to $3,000, depending on the roofing material (TPO, EPDM, PVC), the extent of the damage, and roof accessibility.
Mobile home roof replacement cost typically ranges from $3,000 to $8,000, making it generally more affordable than traditional home roof replacements, due to smaller size and simpler structure.
It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.
The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.
To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.
Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.
When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.
Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
