Oman & Son is the only building supply company I frequent when in Long Beach.

I go down once a month to work on a cranberry bog an Jason remembers me every time. Great place! Have everything you need for 100% of the normal needs!

Always a pleasure doing business with the friendly and helpful staff at Oman & Son’s. They consistently have everything I need in stock and worth the little extra money it costs in comparison with other places that I’d have to drive off the peninsula to go get the same product.

I needed some materials delivered for a project while only in town to complete it for 2 days. Working with Troy to get the order details sorted was fast and easy. Materials delivered early and as described. Great business to work with!!

Worst hardware store I've ever been to. The store is packed with barely enough room to talk through the aisles but nothing I needed was there and the place is filthy, especially the restrooms. What the do stock there is crazy expensive. You're better off driving to Home Depot in Astoria. Save the sales tax and the trouble of looking for anything at this store.

Great hardware store - they usually have everything I need, and if they dont, they volunteer to order it! I've built several projects - a fish cleaning station, a kayak shed, BBQ patio, a deck, etc.
They used to have free delivery, but now charge $20 to deliver to Ocean Park. But the delivery people are courteous and efficient, and your lumber is all bundled up nicely, hard to complain.
Prices are higher than 'over the river' at that HD. But service compensates, plus thats and hour and a half round trip drive.
I miss the Ocean Park store, recently sold off.

Great spot for lumber of all sorts including trim and fencing, hardware like everything you wouldfind at home depot, electrical stuff including lighting and heaters, plumbing and pipe, they also have tools, yard tools and landscaping stuff. Affordable tool and equipment rentals.

Employees are great and super knowledgeable, we have had one bad experience after the next at Home Depot and Lowe’s, then we found Oman and Sons in Long Beach and all our problems were solved. Better quality everything, but especially when it comes to fasteners. Axis nex gen screws were recommended for our rv repair after another big box store sold us galvanised screws to support our 800lb fifth wheel slide, they sheered right off and it was getting late so we went to Oman’s where we were sold screws of different sizes but all the BEST quality, they countersink into even the hardest woods. They carry Milwaukie and Diablo tool accessories, everything else you’d expect from a builders supply store and even stuff for our fifth wheel! Go to Oman’s first, even if you have to drive across the bridge! The photo is of my husband and I looking for products at Oman’s.

Its a family ownrd local business who is competing with the huge home depot and it's only it's holding phone you know but the prices aren't compatible but they can't be i'm sure because of the best I can and it's worth it sometimes just to buy it at home you know they're finally they try and I don't always get it right and some of them are really young and cocky but for the most part they're a friendly crew and they get you what you need so it's nice to keep people like that your neighbors your friends going so good place to shop and they do have a good selection so it's worth going to

Oman's is one of those businesses the Peninsula can't do without. They've got a lot of the supplies you need for your next project big or small.

And what they don't have, they can probably get for you.

But be patient during the pandemic. Some things are hard to stock right now.

On January 31st my husband ordered a window through Dennis. And it was paid for then. However Dennis was getting ready for vacation and never bothered putting the order through. Then when we called they put the order through the window showed up and the glass was broken. So last Friday 22nd of March we went and picked up the window finally. It's the wrong size. So now we get to wait another two weeks and hope that it's right. Not very impressed

Dennis came in to my job and took ownership of the problem. He promised to order the correct window & sent someone to pick up the wrong one we brought home. I am willing to give it one more try & hope this time it's right. Thank you Dennis & Nolan for passing the message along!

All right I promised to correct my nasty gram when the window finally arrived. Yippee it's here! And even better it was delivered. Thank you for making this right.

This is a great full service hardware store, they even deliver same day. Awesome paint department - Christi will keep all your project colors on file. No it does not have Home Depot prices or selection but the great service more than offsets that.

Pricing questions
1. What is the average roof replacement cost for a residential home?
+-

The average roof replacement cost for a residential home typically ranges from $7,000 to $15,000, depending on factors such as roof size, chosen materials, roof pitch, and labor rates in your area. Premium materials or complex designs may increase the price.

Several factors influence roof repair cost, including the extent of the damage, roof accessibility, material type, labor costs, and whether it’s a general repair or an emergency fix. Minor repairs can start around $150–$400, while major repairs may exceed $1,500.

4. What is the typical roof leak repair cost, and how is it calculated?

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?
+-

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
