Customer feedback on OC Construction & Roofing is mixed. While some customers appreciate the owner's willingness to communicate and provide detailed explanations, others have experienced significant issues with the quality of work. Customers noted that the delivery of services could lead to frustrating outcomes, and concerns about the effectiveness of repairs were raised. Overall, communication appears to be a strong point, but the reliability of the services rendered is under scrutiny.
- I liked the fact that he listened to my ideas and gave suggestions based on his experience.
- Omar was very patient with me and broke it down explaining what and why it was being done.
- I can tell Omar takes pride in his work and pays attention to detail.
- The fiberglass panels that they had removed and replaced... rattled and buzzed against the barn frame.
- My horses were so terrified one threw a shoe, another one had to be kept outside in the storm.
- Next day the owner Omar said 'I know why it's happening' but did not resolve the issue.

I hired OC Construction to replace part of my barn roof, which was leaking. Six days after they finished we had a storm with high winds. The fiberglass panels that they had removed and replaced above the roof rattled and buzzed against the barn frame and metal roof, the sound echoed inside the large barn and it sounded like a Harley motorcycle starting up inside the barn. This had never happened before. My horses were so terrified one threw a shoe, another one had to be kept outside in the storm to avoid having him injure himself. Next day the owner Omar said "I know why it's happening" and agreed to come out at 4 that day to fix the problem. 4 o'clock rolls around, he is no-call, no-show and never responded after that to numerous calls, texts, emails and even a certified letter. So now I have to hire another roofer to fix the problem he created. AVOID this company! They do not stand by their work.

I originally hired OC Construction & Roofing to build a 12’ x 14’ storage shed in my back yard. I liked the fact that he listened to my ideas and gave suggestions based on his experience. After talking and coming up with a plan he sent me an itemized invoice on the materials and labor. Not having a lot of construction experience you can imagine I had lots of questions and concerns. Omar was very patient with me and broke it down explaining what and why it was being done.
I can tell Omar takes pride in his work and pays attention to detail, because I am the same way. I am going to break down the stars to give an idea of his work.
The Bid 5 STARs – before hiring OC Construction I was going with a company that made prefabricated tough sheds. Kind of like the ones you can buy at Home Depot. OC Construction quote was a little more expensive but the shed was way HIGHER quality in material and design. My shed was literally built like my house just a mini version, paint, siding, garage door and roof. My shed didn’t have to match the house because it was just a shed on pier blocks.
Construction Time 3 STARs – originally the bid was to complete with in two weeks. I did take consideration of the rain that we have here in WA but there was a lot of delays. Issues with the truss order, truck break downs, material delays, etc... Build time ended up taking 3 months. Omar was very apologetic but I have to deduct the company on this. I will give Omar this credit, some days he came out and worked by himself to make up time. Honestly, I haven’t met a contractor that I have ever hired that has met project time, expect delays is my experience.
Communication 4 ½ stars – I communicated with Omar pretty much through text and phone calls. Omar would usually contact me and send me messages right away. Even with changes he was very flexible and was straight with me in saying he could do it or not. A few days he told me that he would be out but no one showed. Here is where I am hard on contractors, I believe communication is the key.
Work quality and material quality 5 STARs – here is where I think OC construction shined, although we had construction delays and some communication hiccups. The quality of the shed was top notched. Each day when I was home I would come out and inspect the work. Again, I am not a construction guy but I have friends that are. They would tell me that the design, the material and work was way better than they have seen when it comes to a shed.
The Final product 5 STARs – my wife and I are very happy with the final product. In fact, we were so happy with the final product that we hired Omar to paint our home. Again another 5 stars but this time he completed the painting within project time. He used high quality paint and if I saw any paint spray defects he fixed no questions ask. I compared his bid with other paint contractors and he pretty much beat them all.
To summarize, its hard finding good contractors who will do a good job. I have been burnt and nickeled and dimed to death by other contractors. Like everyone else, the word “I need to hire a contractor” just makes me shutter because it’s a frustrating process. I believe OC Construction did a really outstanding job on my shed and home.
Update: it's been over a year since Omar did work for me. This update is in regards to my house that I had him paint. After a year I noticed the caulk that he used on the house started separating on two sides. More and likely it could have been the shifting of the house but caulk should be flexible, so I was subrised to see it separate. Regardless, since it was just a year I should have been under warranty for minor touch up, right. I texted Omar and told him the situation, he agreed to come out and look. We made an appt, he was a no show. Days went by, texted him again 2 to 4 times, still nothing. Havent heard from him since. I ended up doing the repairs myself, good thing I had some spare touch up paint. Its sad having to write this, he just doesnt standby his warranty and just not dependable.

The average roof replacement cost for a residential home typically ranges from $7,000 to $15,000, depending on factors such as roof size, chosen materials, roof pitch, and labor rates in your area. Premium materials or complex designs may increase the price.
The cost to replace the roof of a commercial building typically ranges from $5 to $12 per square foot, depending on several factors such as roof size, material, labor rates, building type, and local code requirements.
Several factors influence roof repair cost, including the extent of the damage, roof accessibility, material type, labor costs, and whether it’s a general repair or an emergency fix. Minor repairs can start around $150–$400, while major repairs may exceed $1,500.
Roof leak repair cost generally ranges from $300 to $800, depending on the size and location of the leak, the materials required, and labor intensity. Complex leaks involving structural repairs or interior damage will cost more.
Flat roof repair cost for commercial properties usually ranges from $500 to $3,000, depending on the roofing material (TPO, EPDM, PVC), the extent of the damage, and roof accessibility.
Mobile home roof replacement cost typically ranges from $3,000 to $8,000, making it generally more affordable than traditional home roof replacements, due to smaller size and simpler structure.
It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.
The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.
To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.
Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.
When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.
Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
