Nathan has done several projects for us. He installed new flooring in our kitchen, dining, and great room along with heated tile floors in our bathrooms. He also built a new Trek deck for us. He was very professional and everything looked great! We couldn't be happier with the finished product. I would definitely hire him again.

We hired Nathan to replace our roof. NW Construction is the best. He removed the old shingles, cleaned at the end of each day, came in on budget and did an excellent job. We then hired him and his crew to rip out and replace our cracked driveway. Once again everything that was done was top notch. It's not often that you find a contractor with integrity and absolutely follows through with what he says he will do. Any future home repairs will be done by NW Construction.

NW Construction finished our basement. The experience and results were 5+ stars. The owner, Nathan, helped us through the entire process and was so thoughtful in all of the finishes. He was price conscious and at the same time never cut corners. We were so happy with the finished product. We also had NW Construction come back to install our wood floor.

He remodeled our homes floors and fireplace, most of it was done when we were gone on vacation. Took some trust , but it was a great plan. Everything was done, cleaned and looked spectacular when we returned. I would highly recommend using him.

Nathan did a large remodel for our home and he made it an absolutely wonderful experience. Not only is our remodel beautiful and we love it, but his professionalism, adaptability, and reliability took nearly all of the stress out of the experience. Not only did he listen and then deliver exactly what we were hoping for, he evaluated it with the perfectionism I would have expected if it was his own home.

We had a fantastic experience working with NW Construction during our recent main level renovation! Nathan did a great job communicating with us and guiding us through the process. He was meticulous in his work and showed great attention to detail. He also left the work space neat and tidy everyday which we really appreciated. Built the house exactly as we wanted at less then used-house prices. Later had the basement finished exactly as requested with our inputs and their quality. Would definitely recommend.

Nathan installed a railing on an existing deck and did a great job. The materials and workmanship were top notch and we are very happy with the end result. Material costs are high these days but Nathan’s experience and attention to detail allowed him to be very efficient with all the parts and pieces needed to install a deck railing around an upper and lower deck as well as stairway. We will use NW Construction again in the future for sure.

Nathan and his crew replaced our deck last summer. He was so helpful to us in selecting materials, planning the layout and making sure every phase of the construction was done correctly and to code. The finished deck turned out way beyond our expectations. We will be working with him on another project this summer.

NW Construction finished our basement with a full size kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. They listened to what we wanted and finished it as we asked and in a timely manner. Thank you, NW Construction!

I hired NW Construction and was very happy. Nate is a fantastic contractor. He is dependable and punctual and knows how to do everything. I had such confidence in him because he listens and cares. He owns the project and works like it was his own home. He finished a basement stairwell and back entry for me. Drywall, painting, and reconstructing the stairs. It is beautiful! He went the extra mile and hung a piece of art work. The paint was hard to find (like many things these days), but Nate searched to find the paint color that I wanted. He asked my preference on things that I had not even given thought too. My project included some wants and some needs and he took care of the list. I have a whole new excitement about my home. I was WOW'd by what he did for me. I already asked to be put on his calendar for a future project. Thank you Nate! You are awesome!

We have hired NW Construction for multiple projects including a complete basement remodel, kitchen countertop and sink installation, and other home remodel and repair projects. We keep going back to NW Construction because of the excellent workmanship, great communication, and honest business relationships.

We are recently retired and moved 200 miles from small town Iowa to the city. We are also first time home builders. All of these things alone can cause a lot of anxiety. All of them at once really raised our blood pressure. After months of unsuccessful house hunting, we decided to build a house in Ames. We saw one we liked built by NW Construction. Some research led us to believe that NW Construction would be a good fit for us. We found that Nathan Werstein was respected by the people he worked with in the business world and the people who worked for him on his homes. He listened patiently to our concerns, answered our many questions, made changes to the original plan, and provided us with all the information we needed to go out and get the supplies needed to finish our house such as carpet, appliances and lighting fixtures. Best of all, he finished our home in the time frame he promised.

We needed someone we could trust because we lived so far from the building site. We never worried about anything because the line of communication was always open. His use of high quality materials, attention to codes, and hiring of reliable sub-contractors resulted in the house of our dreams.

We hired NW Construction to remodel our bathrooms and replace our deck. Nathan was wonderful to work with from the start by providing great designs, working safely, and keeping the area tidy during construction work while making sure every detail was completed during the finish work. Everything was done to schedule at a reasonable price. Nathan listened to his our needs and provided exactly what we requested.

Nathan was an outstanding contractor, and we cannot recommend him more highly. In summer 2021, he and his small crew added a screened-in porch to our house. Throughout the process, Nathan's work exceeded all our expectations.

One of the things that impressed us most is Nathan’s character and the care he put into the project. When we were in the planning stages, he listened to our requests and sought creative solutions (e.g., turning an existing window into a door so we can walk directly into the porch). He paid close attention to details without losing sight of the big picture (e.g., he recommended that matching our existing barn-style roofline would help the porch fit with the look of the house). He’s an experienced professional, so he could anticipate problems far in advance (e.g., our new porch would cover up an existing outside water spigot) and help us make decisions that balanced our needs, the layout of our house, and cost of materials.

As to the logistics: Nathan showed up when he said he would; he kept us informed about progress; he and his crew took their time to do quality work; they were unobtrusive, allowing us to continue working from home; they left the site as clear as possible at the end of the day. And perhaps most important, the project cost what he said it would cost.

We absolutely love our porch, and we are so grateful that we got to work with Nathan!

Nathan put a two story addition on for us. The upper level is a four seasons room and lower room is a workshop. Nathan was wonderful to work with. While I knew basically what I wanted, Nathan had great suggestions and design ideas that were key in realizing my vision. The end result is exactly what I wanted, and I love it. Nathan is flexible, professional and very detail oriented. The quality of his workmanship is top notch. We normally do all of the work in our house ourselves, but we would hire Nathan again in a second.

We absolutely love the kitchen remodel that Nathan did for us recently! At first, we didn't have a clear idea of what we wanted; Nathan did a great job of helping us shape the design and added in a lot of very good suggestions. His recommendations for where to go for what were also very helpful. Throughout the project, Nathan was good at answering our questions and communicating with us. Nathan is very detailed in his work and conscientious of doing a good job. We knew that we wanted him as our contractor after he put a Trex deck on for us last summer. And, we are planning to sign him for another project next year...so don't too many of you bring him jobs!

Nathan and his crew of workers were great to work with. Several years ago, Nathan removed a large deck for us and built a three season room that we are able to use the majority of the year. Workmanship on that room was meticulous and it is my favorite room. When it came time to get quotes for the remodel of our master bath and closet...Nathan was a no brainer for us. His workmanship is top notch and he is just the nicest person! He wanted us to be totally happy with this project. I requested a feature wall that he was not quite sure about...however, he understood what I wanted and figured out how to do it. The entire project came in under budget. It did take a bit longer than first thought...however, that is because I added that wall and I was not clear on a carpet question. Overall, we highly recommend Nathan for any project you want done right.

We have now lived in our NW Construction custom home for over two years and we are frequently reminded of how thankful we are we built with NW. Nathan is meticulous about quality and is intentional on building exactly what you want. It’s not difficult to find a home builder. It is however difficult to find one that cares about his clients and is as passionate about quality as Nathan. With Nathan, it isn’t just about finishing the home on time, it’s about ensuring you are satisfied, weeks, months and even years later. With Nathan, it’s personal. Nathan worked with us from beginning to end to create the greatroom addition of our dreams! From the design process to the seeding of the new area in our back yard, Nathan oversaw every detail. His high standard of excellence and quality craftsmanship are visible throughout the two-level addition. Mr Nathan is the premier builder in the Ames area. Hands down we couldn’t have asked for a better building experience with NW Construction. Nathan and all of his contractors treated our custom home as their own by listening to our wants and needs while keeping us within our budget. The organization of the entire team is top notch as well as the details throughout our entire home. We couldn’t be more blessed with a perfect home that Nathan and his team have given us. People always say that building a home is stressful, but this was not the case at all. Nathan’s help and design throughout the entire build, start to finish made it a fairly simple process that we enjoyed. What a great experience it was and we cannot thank him and his team enough. All of it was fast paced and locally sourced so all of the decisions we had to make were easy and stress free. We are very proud of our NW built home.

NW Construction re-shingled the roof on my standalone garage. Nate Werstein submitted a thorough and complete bid in a timely manner and did the work agreed upon at the estimated cost. Nate was thorough with his explanation of what he and his crew would do on work day. They performed the work well within the expected timeframe, cleaned up well, and left nothing behind for me to pick up.
