Novus Exteriors

We had a poor experience with Novus Exteriors. Marcello came for an on-site meeting and promised to send an estimate, but it’s been a month (!) and we still haven’t received it. I sent several emails asking for updates—one time they asked us to wait a couple of days, and the next time they just ignored us.

Daniel and his crew did an outstanding job. From start to finish there level of detail was amazing. Honestly we couldn’t ask more from them. Novus will be our first call anytime we need work done.

We can't say enough good things about our experience with Novus. Marcelo, Daniel and the rest of the team made this process seamless. Our initial meeting with Marcelo set Novus apart from other contractors we met. Marcelo is extremely knowledgeable about the product and installation and spent the time explaining everything in detail. He also came ready with many suggestions on design to best set our house apart. Our project manager, Daniel was responsive to questions during the installation and was a fantastic partner. The installation team was amazing. They were hardworking and detail oriented. Not only did they take pride in installing the product correctly but at the end of each workday they thoroughly cleaned the worksite before leaving. We had a heatwave during our installation, and we couldn't believe how dedicated the team was in finishing the project on time. We are extremely happy with the new look of our house, thanks to the entire Novus team!

Marcelo, Daniel, and the team at RF did an amazing job residing our entire house in James Hardie fiber cement board. They removed all the existing cedar lap siding, door/window frames, sills, facias and soffits. Several areas of water damaged sheathing were repaired/replaced. They installed new Hardie wrap, ice & water tape, then remade the exterior of our home to like new condition. There was a high level of attention to detail, communication, and collaboration during the whole process. We added new light fixtures above the garage door, incorporated a much more elegant and substantial front door entry molding detail, and used a mix of Hardie lapboard and straight single to give the front elevation a new, more modern look. Everyone on site during the five weeks was friendly, professional, and accommodating. We would not hesitate to use Novus again.

From the initial meeting with Marcelo to discuss expectations and options, the observation of keen knowledge, skill, and the experience was very impressive. I had a couple of other contractors come to quote/provide similar options, but Marcelo set the benchmark very high! He grabbed your immediate attention by the detail he identified in the walk through. When someone is detailed, you know you have the right person, the right firm. Through the entire process, Novus Exteriors managed to detail. When your house exterior is your most important investment, especially in New England, detail counts. Detail is high quality. Needless to say, I am very impressed and am very happy to see the output and results. No complaints in the process, only awe in the work ethic and quality. When my neighbors walk by and say that I did a great job -- I am upfront and say, "No, it was Novus who did the great work!" Many thanks to Novus and team for an outstanding job!

We had a great experience with Novus Exteriors! The whole process from beginning to end was wonderful. Marcelo and his crew did a fantastic job! We had a small mud room (8by8) added to the front of the house, as well as , complete siding on our home. Phillip (the general manager ) and his crew showed up on time every day as scheduled and worked full days. John did an amazing job on the entryway! We love it!! Philip visited weekly and checked progress and any issues we had were resolved quickly and efficiently. He was very responsive and professional throughout the process. We had our house sided and new windows put in by Novus Exteriors this past Spring. Everything from beginning to end was wonderful. Everyone that worked on the job was extremely nice, very professional and very, very skilled, and all of them very hard workers. Anytime we had questions about anything, they were right on it. It was of utmost importance to them that we were very happy with the work they were doing. Without hesitation, we would recommend them, and will hopefully use them for future projects. Evaluated many different contractors for replacement siding on my 110 year old house. Novus provided a good presentation, and followed through. They coordinated asbestos removal with the siding, and re boarded front and back decks all at a reasonable price. They stayed on the job start to finish and communicated well with us during the process. They provided a fair price as a result of low overhead - they have the staff to support the job but maintain a reasonable overall cost structure which allows them to focus on the quality of work and coordination at a very competitive price. Very happy with the suggestions and results from the Novus team.

Novus performed a complete Hardy siding replacement for us last summer, inclusive of all window and door trim. Eric and the team were great through the entire process. All unexpected complications were communicated and addressed in a professional and fair manner. We recently needed their assistance as we are doing a separate project which required altering the hardy board and the Novus team responded quickly and helped us out. I highly recommend Novus.

Marcelo (owner) and Eric (project manager) were excellent to work with throughout the process of our extensive home remodel + addition. The quality of work really stood out, with excellent workmanship and any issues that did arise were resolved at no additional cost. Eric is very good at understanding the details of a big project and has excellent attention to detail. He also has a great design sense, and takes care of your home as if it were his own!

Our project involved an addition (new 2 car garage + room with vaulted ceiling above the garage), installing Jamie Hardie fiber cement siding for the whole house, new deck plus deck expansion using Trax composite boards, new windows throughout the house, roofing work and adding gutters and landscaping. Everything was organized very well right up to clean-up post-project, and making sure the yard was leveled and seed replanted.

I'm very glad to meet and work with everyone from Novus. They were reasonably priced and fair with any changes to the scope of the project. We are tremendously happy with the outcome of the project, as the photos show (before and after photos attached)!

Do not use them! They never get back to you. They tell you all kinds of things so you will sign the contract and lots of it was not true. They leave you hanging for days at a time and no one shows up. They don’t stand by their work. They left us without heat and wouldn’t return our calls to fix it. They kept wanting more money. You will be sorry if you go with this company!

We had Novus install James Hardie siding on our home. Honestly, from start to finish, we have not dealt with a company so professional in a long time, it was a pleasure. Every single employee we encountered was fantastic. Also, we cannot say enough about the quality of the work. We are so pleased with Marcelo and his team. We will be hiring them again for other exterior projects soon.

They resided my garage. All old wood was removed, plywood installed, water barrier installed and James Hardy siding installed. Excellent workmanship. They also cleaned the area when done. I would recommend this company for any work you need to have done.

Novus did a great job with our deck. The crew was professional and courteous, and we were very pleased with the work itself. We would work with Novus again!

They were great-responsive, kept me informed through the whole process. Did a full residing of our home-like them so much I had them do more work on the exterior. Would highly recommend.

NOVUS helped reside my whole house with Wolf Portrait siding and built a front porch. Their job is excellent with good quality, our house looks brand new and beautiful when it’s done. The whole process is smooth without unexpected cost and passed every inspection from the town. The crew is working professionally, every step is tidy and well organized with respect to my property. The contract is clear and the price is reasonable. Due to covid, there are some delays in materials which are totally understandable. All the work that has been done passed the inspection and they are very responsive and kept us updated with emails, text messages and documented the projects with pics and reports. Great experience with NOVUS, I will definitely recommend NOVUS for siding and home renovation projects.

We have a small ranch in Littleton that needed vinyl siding. After receiving several quotes, we chose Novus Exteriors and are glad we did. Their staff is very professional and the work crew is amazing. They had obviously worked together many times, evidenced by their smooth, almost wordless interaction.

The job was finished ahead of schedule with attention to detail and expertise. They left the site cleaner than they found it. Our neighbors were so impressed that one family wants to use them next year.

I recently hired Novus Exteriors to replace the roof and re-side the house with Hardie board. I found the work crew very polite, honest, hard working, and took pride in their work. Very professional and knowledgeable. They did a great job, the house looks terrific. They were able to start the job quickly and finished in a timely manner. I have received many positive comments from my neighbors on the house renovation. The only minor issue is a rust stain on driveway from waste container after it was removed. I am very satisfied with the job and highly recommend Novus to other customers.

Novus Exteriors re-sided my house and remodeled one of my bathrooms. They were recommended to me by my neighbor whose house they re-sided last summer and the house looks fantastic. On the web, I found an article, "10 things to look for when hiring a siding contractor", and Novus checked all the boxes. In addition, the staff was great to work with, polite, respectful and responsive when I had questions. The foreman (thank you Rodrigo) was available to come over and answer questions and a wonderful woman (thank you Meiryellen) working in the office who was available (by text!) to answer questions. My house looks wonderful!

I can't say enough about how well this company runs. From the moment I met with the owner to review the work needed to be done until the men completed the project it was a great experience. I was not inconvenienced at any time at all. The job was done in a timely manner and with precision. Definitely will recommend Novus Exteriors to family and friends.

I contacted 3 other certified Hardy installers in my area, Novus was the best price. They also had the clearest contract and statement of work I've seen from just about any contractor, there was no question what was going to be included vs not. Their statement included pictures marked-up with notes about what was being done. They were able to start the job quickly, and aside from one material related delay finished the job quickly. The team was professional and did an excellent job cleaning up. In regards to the product, the installation looks great and being a certified Hardy installer, I can see a difference in the quality. I would recommend Novus to anyone looking for a Hardy plank exterior installation.

We resided our house and it came out absolutely beautiful. They cleaned up everything every day and made me feel very comfortable with the process. Very responsive and would use them again.

UPDATE: responding to the owner.. if Marcelo telling me “maybe next week” each time I reach out, or saying “I can maybe do Friday, but let’s play it by ear” is considered “messaging you about your availability” then you’re right.. he really did make an effort to come out(sarcasm). In terms of the picture for “roof damage”, I don’t know where they got that picture because when the 3rd floor sold, I went up on the roof with the inspector and he stated there is no damage to our roof. The reason for this next visit was so Marcelo can see there is no damage to my roof.

Had Marcelo and his team come out to install vinyl siding, gutters and repaint/repair rotted planks on our front porch. Gutters leaked, causing damage to the front porch and it’s been a nightmare trying to get marcelo to get someone out to repair it. They tried to blame the roof as the reason for the leak, not the gutters, but I had an inspector come out and say our roof is in great condition and not the cause of the leak that ruined our front porch. I’ve been chasing down Marcelo for over a year and half trying to get them to repair this and they keep putting it on the back burner. Customer support sucks so stay away because once they’re done, they won’t come back out even if it’s on them to fix something

We had Marcelo and his crew come out and replace the siding on a section of our house that was rotted and leaking. He gave a fair price and the crew did excellent work.
Most of the companies we reached out to were not interested in working on that section of our home as it was above and around a glass roof. This crew worked quickly and did a fantastic job installing Hardie board siding and vinyl trim boards to make it so we wouldn't ever need to make repairs above and around this glass roof again.
In addition, they took the time to caulk and seal around all the windows and around the glass roof so that it no longer leaks. Our wood floors say thank you!
Great work and a great team, we will have them back as budget allows for siding in some other areas of the home either this fall or next year.
The installation took about 4-5 days, when they had originally said it would be 2-3 days, and it was started about a week later than planned. This was not a problem for us at all, and I told them as much. Everyone is busy, shipments from the distributors are often delayed, and the final product is what really matters.

I have seen a number of their projects first hand and know their team. They have done as good a job as anyone during this past year. They do what it takes to get the job done right and care about their customers satisfaction.

Novus did a great job helping with my new extension! They made the project a lot less stressful than anticipated. Very responsive and professional. I recommend them to anyone for siding projects and window installation.

They do very quality work and install. If you have issues with project delays, welcome to the entire industry having a huge demand issue and almost every product over the past 8 months has been challenging to secure. I would recommend them for any siding or window installation.

OVERALL: While the quality of the work was excellent, the reliability of getting the work done was lacking. Three weeks since my last update, the job is nearly complete, but remains unfinished. More excuses, more no-shows. Failure to deliver promised paperwork will delay installation of new doors until the spring. While the new deck is stunning, the lighting remains incomplete, and completion of wiring for existing interior sconces, which should have been completed in June, remains unfinished.
Some delays are unavoidable --- virus-related supply issues, permit backlog, unanticipated code issues --- but no-shows, phony excuses ... dishonesty is simply intolerable.

UPDATE 11/19/2020: Two months after my initial review, the job remains incomplete, SEVEN months later. Promising completion last week, the crew removed temporary railings before checking the materials were complete. A promised visit to verify materials has not happened. The workers were here last week to complete the job but the project manager did not realize the lighting required an electrician. So, I have had a week without any railings at all, and I slid off the deck (slick in bad weather) with my dogs. This is the review I wrote two months ago: The work that was completed was exceptionally well-done, however, FIVE months later, the project remains incomplete. There were some supply delays because of the virus, but the intolerable part is that the excuses are endless, the follow-up to inquiries is answered by promises to call which do not come. Too busy recruiting new jobs while the job is unfinished. PortaPotty sitting on my driveway for 5 months which goes entirely unused some weeks. It saddens me to give a harsh review because the work is exceptional and dishonesty is not my idea of customer service.

This was a subcontractor used by Home Depot to install new storm doors. They installed a wrong door and wrong handle and told us to work with this company to address it. It's been an absolute nightmare trying to work with them. Installation dates get cancelled with no notification, requiring us to try and contact them to reschedule. However, they do not respond to voicemail or email so we've needed to call every few hours until someone picks up.

I had two storm doors installed. Both were put in reverse, so that upon exiting our house we walk into the exterior siding rather than in the direction of steps, which are on the opposite side. Additionally, one door will not close without an extra hard pull and has affected the closure of the main door.

Novus has ignored my messages. I’ve not received a call back, and this has been ongoing for FOUR MONTHS. I am utterly disappointed with the lack of communication, poor customer service, and quality of work.
