Nova Home Improvements - New City, NY

We recently moved into a new house and hired Nova for various jobs with the two largest being opening up a wall to create a two room suite for my mother and installing attic stairs. Ruben and his team were a pleasure to deal with and the job was done so well.

The full job was completed in the estimated amount of time, on budget and best of all, his crew were clean throughout. They literally ripped open a wall and part of a ceiling and you would have never known it if you were judging by the mess created.

We just contracted with Nova Home Improvements to get our large, front picture window replaced. John and Murray were great. They told us about their company and gave us a competitive price on the window we need replaced. We have covered lead paint that will need to be uncovered for the replacement, and because they have people certified to safely oversee that type of lead work, that helped a lot. I'll update this post with photos when the work is done!

I have been working with Nova Home Improvement for 20 years and I am very satisfied with their service. Ruben, the owner, is a very experienced and responsible person who always delivers high-quality work. He and his team are very professional, courteous, and reliable. They have done various projects , such as remodeling kitchen, installing new windows, and painting houses. They always finish the job on time and within the budget. Ruben and his team are impeccable! We had a fire at our house and at the same time I had major health issues. It was hard time for my family. Ruben came in and said we are going to take care of this and we are going to keep you safe. He held his promise. We put in a steel beam to remove wall, remodeled our kitchen and bathroom upstairs completely. He made every pinterest dream of mine to come true and was incredibly patient. The tile work and kitchen details to our project were extensive because of our old home and my pinterest dreams, but we did it and it’s perfect! I look at my kitchen now and I will forever remember the fire being one of the worst times of my life but meeting ruben and his team showed us true kindness, skill and professionalism. They treated us like family and truly took care of us. We are forever grateful. I love how every detail of this project came out!

Work was done to meet the town's updated codes. Work was completed in time for closing including all permits. All on very short notice!

I would highly recommend Nova for all general contracting issues. Ruben was able to identify , discuss options and estimate costs on all of my areas of need. The crew was proficient in plumbing, electrical, and carpentry. I'm very pleased with Nova and the professional results.

Ruben came to my home on Sat. Nov. 21 (not 28) Said he would send quote for deck sealing. Deck projects are listed on the Nova Home Improvement profile. Haven't heard from him since. Calls AND texts not returned. I get it not every project is a kitchen remodel and it is a busy time -but- if you say you are going to do something - then do it or tell the customer you cannot (will not) be able to do the job. Have to start over again.This was a total waste of my time. Add'tl reply to owner: It was not less than 48 hrs. Understand that 'stuff happens' (fam emergencies, etc.) however I actually called left a message 1 day later then next day called again. I also sent text as well - Nothing back. So this for me was 'ghosting' anyone can send a text (will get back to you, etc.) something to let a customer know that a reply is coming..... Finally after looking through all my emails - I do not see a quote on Nov. 24th Unfortunately, I've been ghosted by many , many contractors. This sit. definitely left a base impression.

Ruben and his workers were amazing! They started first thing 8am on the dot the day after the contract was signed. Very professional and great communicator! Ruben always kept you up to date with the progress at the end of the day. Which was 4:30pm everyday. They clean up after each work day. Very satisfied with the craftsmanship that him and his guys have done. Will definitely use them on the next project!

Ruben is a very attentive contractor and quickly responds to questions and concerns. I was putting my house up for sale and concerned about the front porch. Ruben did a great job of updating it and when I asked about the final rotted plank, he schooled me on home inspections and said let it be. Turns out he was right; it wasn't even mentioned on the inspection report. I was thrilled; thanks Ruben!

I have used Nova Home Improvements as my source of pre-screened home improvement professionals. I have relied on Nova for jobs both big and small: 1, a kitchen gut-remodel; 2, a redone back deck; 3, interior and exterior electrical and lighting work; 4, an external stone walkway. Nova has also referred me to plumbers and HVAC professionals. In each instance Nova has supervised the work and provided me with timely and fairly-priced services. I would recommend them for the full gamut of home improvement jobs.

I am very pleased with work performed by Nova Home Improvements and highly recommend them. They were a pleasure to work with at all steps of the project (including estimation, scheduling, coordinating materials, and of course the work). The contractors were focused and even had a sense of humor (which is a big plus to me) and most important the work was great.
