Hunter and his crew were great. They were professional and accommodating with working through any quirks are basement had to get the job done. Even when I messaged hunter on the weekend due to some concerns about rain he responded quickly. Prior to the work,Ryan was great with scheduling and figuring out what was needed and could be done. The staff I interacted with when I called NBS for different reasons were nice and helpful to work with.

We didn’t expect as much work in our yard either an excavator but they filled in what was dug and laid grass seed. I recommend working with everyone to make sure both sides understand what will happen and who is responsible for what, so there are no surprises or assumptions.

Foundation repair is expensive and while the final price tag hurt I appreciate them working to not add to much on the bill from the changes they had to make when doing the work.

We will see how things hold up in the future and work but for now I think it was worth the cost.

Mike and his team (Zamir, Josè, Jorge, and Keith) were so helpful, hardworking, and took great care with the job. We ran into some unexpected wastewater pipe issues that would have gone undiscovered (for who knows how long?!) if they hadn’t been doing this pump installation, and they navigated all of that so well. Communication with the team was excellent all the way through the project. I feel confident that my basement will be warmer, drier, and cleaner because of the pump and floor tiles. Highly recommended.

We recently had Chris and his expert team from Northern Basements set up a flood mitigation system to reduce unwanted ground water from entering our house. Apparently now we are in a flood prone area and we have used Northern Basements on multiple occasions as we attempt to meet the increasing occurences of flooding and water seeping into the lower levels. They have always been prompt courteous and knowledgeable. Chris and his team worked efficiently and even cleaned up the mess (which I always appreciate). The team created a system that should reduce the water coming in to foundation and mitigate the potential flooding of floors. A big thank you for their expertise and 5 star work ethic!

They gave clear explations, attention to details, and a thoroughly cleaned up finish. Also - a rarity in today‘s world - they displayed politeness and conern in all aspects of the project.

Foreman Chris S and his crew were efficient, super hard-working and pleasant. They fully explained the process and answered questions/concerns we had along the way. We were initially scheduled four months out but they were able to move us up a month thanks to a cancellation. Reached out to them in 2015 on my new old house which was taking in ground water in one corner. One of their guys came and tried to sell me on a very expensive system. Said I had no other recourse. Then I had Bronson Johnson (a gutter specialist) come and point out that the main gutter was draining right where the ground water was coming in. We moved the gutter. Problem fixed!

I just recently am having a new ground water issue (in a different part of the house). I just called them to make an appointment for July, but in the meantime will look for other feedback. I explained to the receptionist what happened in 2015 and she told me they don't do that sort of thing (hard sales pitch without a real assessment) any more. But having just read a few recent reviews, I doubt it. I will update this review based on how my appointment with them goes. Let's face it, the systems they recommend are probably where they make all their money. Telling someone the need to change the downspout on their gutter earns them nothing but good will (they don't do gutters). Beware their free assessment. Use them if you can't find anyone else to give you a more holistic and truthful advice or if you really do have a big ground water issue.

Please read my other reviews. I usually don't like to leave bad ones, but in this case, I felt compelled to after seeing a few others with similar experiences in the last year.

What a great company to work with everyone from the salesman to the office with my questions and having someone call me back promptly if they didn't have a quick answer, to the hardest working install team I've seen. Mike and his team worked seamlessly together . Called when they would arrive and very descriptive with answers' to my questions and explained the system very thoroughly, left leaving the basement cleaner than when they arrived. Hunter and his team installed a new sump pump in our basement. They were courteous and professional. The work was done in the promised amount of time and they left everything tidy and clean. Hunter answered all my questions on what to expect of the pump and how it works. Well done.

What an amazing job!! I don't know how to get the point across how professional this company is. Very rare when hiring contractors to work on your very old house (150yrs). I had my doubts, but it was firmly dissipated when they showed up, did the work, answered my questions even while the work was being done, took the time to communicate clearly, explained the whole process while being installed and arrived every day for 5 days when they said they would. As a homeowner, these things are rare when hiring contractors (especially after the pandemic).

As A lot of Vermont’s know last year was a very wet year and I just had enough of the water coming in my basement.
I had northern basements come in and put a sub pump in my basement and insulate my crawl space for me.
They were great on explaining what they were doing. They had to simplify it for me.
We found out my walls were bolding in too so they put some berms up on 3 walls to hold they and try to put them back a little too.
That did change the 1st plans , but they got another person to come and check it out and came up with an another plan.
Yes I spent more then I could of then another company, but I have done the cheaper route 12 years ago and it didn’t sty so I decided to go with Northern basement because I have had them do some work on my house before and loved how they took there time to make sure I understood on how they’re going to do the work for my house.

It's hard to describe how awesome the whole crew were. Their professionalism and attention to detail were second to none. From the first interaction you could tell this was going to be as good as they advertise. The crawl space at our camp was always wet, dark and a constant issue. After two days you wouldn't recognize it. It's clean, bright and moisture free! Definitely some of the best money ever spent. Well worth the investment. Highly recommend these guys!

I have dealt with water in my basement for years. I finally contacted Northern Basement Systems and I am so glad I did. I had a consultation with Eric and he was very thorough in his assessment of my situation. I was walked through the whole process step by step with videos of each procedure. The day of install all the guys who came over were very friendly, courteous and respectful of my home and property. They were at my house for 3 days and every day I was kept up to date on the process. The final product was an immediately dry basement and clean walls. I am so happy with the results. I recommend Northern Basement Systems to anyone with a wet basement.

We endured 4 years of basement flooding, every time it rained more than 2 inches at once or over a few days. Tried gutters, exterior perimeter drain, cross yard curtain drain, etc. Nothing worked because as Northern explained the problem was at the interface where the new foundation met the old. The crew removed drywall supports, braced the remaining drywall and then jackhammered along to the foundation and installed the sump pit and exterior outlet. They kept us informed every step of the way and the completed job looks great. We'll update later after the Spring storms, but now we are resting assured. Thanks guys!

I am very pleased with the work done by Northern Basements. The crew was professional and made the extra effort to keep our house clean, since there is no outside entrance into our basement. The job foreman kept me apprised of the progress as well as the particular difficulties that can come up on any large project. They left my basement in great shape once they completed the installation. I see the potential for an additional project in some crawl space and will not hesitate to call them if it becomes necessary. Thank you the entire organization that worked hard to secure our home.

We highly recommend this company! We had just purchased a house and a month later found water issues in our split level basement. Undisclosed to us at the sale of the house was that it has had significant water issues in the past, requiring us to address the issue. Our experience with this company has been all around great. They came in and installed a full perimeter system in the basement and installed a new sump pump with a back up pump and battery backup. Because of the complexity of our situation the crew had to come out on multiple occasions to readdress our issues and did so timely without any problems or additional cost. The entire crew worked diligently to get the work done. They were always on time and kept us informed of when they would be arriving. Our opinion of this company high, as they have been available for our needs and stand by their work. In addition, our foreman Corey was fabulous in leading his crew, keeping us informed, answering all of our questions, and going above and beyond to make sure we were pleased with the work. This crew did a lot of hard work that we appreciate. Definitely recommend Northern Basement Systems!

I've had a good experience overall with NBS so far (waterproofing materials, 2 sump pumps, and a dehumidifier just installed). On the positive side, all communications have been prompt and courteous and I do get the feeling that the company stands by its work. The foreman on the job, Corey, was great to work with and kept me informed as the work went on, consulted with me as needed, and answered all my questions. He and his crew were very hard working. These guys do back-breaking work (not a full height basement) and deserve a lot of respect for doing work that most people wouldn't be able or willing to take on. How well the system will work and hold up is TBD, but so far it is a big improvement. I don't know how to determine if the cost is fair, but the work is expensive; unfortunately, that seems true of all specialty trades work today. From my experience on my house and another house NBS worked on that I know about, I do feel that you have to proceed cautiously to make sure you are not sold more work than you may need during the sales process. Also, the company should get rid of the small price discount if you sign the contract immediately and put down a down payment. This sales tactic creates unpleasant pressure. Clients should be given a reasonable amount of time to consider the proposal and ask questions without having to pay more for this reasonable allowance. Overall, so far, I would recommend this company to others and have appreciated their help in general and, specifically, the hard work of Corey and his crew.

After Alan explained precisely what the job would entail. I knew they were the only way to go.The flood of 7/10/23 left my dirt floor basement with 4.5 ft of water.

7/10/24, my poor community was under water again. Northern Basement Sytems was the best investment I made to save my home, built in the early 1900's. My basement is bone dry and my sump pump is magical!!! As I shed tears and prayers of dispare for others, I also shed and pray tears with gratitude.
I could not recommend them enough!!!

Matt Clark’s crew was a great bunch of guys. They did a great job and as a bonus, we having fun! I heard laughter and even some singing. Excellent workmanship and a good job of explaining everything before they left.

Our new sump/drainage/moisture barrier system was put to the test during yesterday’s December flood storm and performed beautifully! What a relief!

Expert work done on our basement 1 1/2 ago, it has worked exactly as they said it would. Just had our first maintenance done by Jesse, he was great and explained things very well. Great customer service with the office, setting up appointments, paying bill, etc.

Jesse, a great technician from NB Systems came today, for the third time since my basement sump pump system was installed. He cleaned the sump pump and the well—also checked all the ports and outside drainage pipes. Very pleasant gentleman and thorough at his job. I can highly recommend!

From the estimate to the work, these folks did a great job and were easy to work with. On site, we were fortunate to have Hunter and his crew. They worked incredibly hard to complete our job quickly and kept me involved through the process. They were open to to little tweaks we made and made sure we were happy with the final product before we left. Great experience start to finish!

Had a pump and dehumidifier installed about a year ago. The whole staff, office and installers were friendly, and expert at their jobs. Recently Dylan came to the house to service our system, and because he had another dehumidifier system in his truck was able to install one in our man cave in 2 hours. Fantastic! Great company and employees. So glad I found them.

We did discuss a dehumidifying system but the whole cost was above my budget so I was told it could be installed “later if I needed one” to bring the cost within my budget
My cabin became riddled with MOLD -ceiling of crawl space and into living area of cabin through the floors and on my furniture
Never before had I had a mild problem
Northern basement takes no responsibility - and I was told “should of” had the dehumidifier installed and “it’s been a wet season”

Project Manger Hunter could not have been more professional, courteous, and effective with his team. It was a major piece of work for our house. Every step was explained beforehand, and we had some fairly major change orders that were handled remarkably smoothly and respectfully. Costs were actually very reasonable. Grateful for their work, and so glad to have this issue of basement dampness and periodic water damage resolved in our home.
