It was a pleasure working with NewBrook Home Improvements for our awning install. The owner (Mr. Dermot) was very responsive and his operational manager (Ms. Liene) came out and answered all my questions/concerns. I like that she did not give me any sale pitch. NewBrook Home Improvement (owner Dermot McDermott) is an outstanding company and we highly recommend it without reservation!! For those who would like a little more detail, this was our experience.

We solicited four bids from highly-rated companies in Southern Maryland to replace the siding and gutters on our home and all came back roughly around the same price. However, we ultimately selected NewBrook because Dermot provided the greatest level of detail in the bid, during our discussion on the initial visit and in the description of work. Dermot clearly explained everything that would be done, the materials that would be used, and their purpose. Not only did he answer all of our questions then, but he encouraged us to call him if we had further questions. And we did.

All throughout the process Dermot kept in contact with us so we would know when to expect the workers and what they would be doing, as well as their overall schedule.

I am very pleased with my new Sunsetter green and white awning as well as the service provided by Newbrook Home Improvement. When I first contacted Dermot to express my interest and get an estimate, I got a call back the same day, and within a few days (if not sooner), Dermott came out to measure and draft the contract. When I was ready to get it installed, I didn't have to wait long to get it installed. It only took 30-40 mins for the young guys (very pleasant) to install it and show me how to use it. Remember those 1990’s ads for Sunsetter Retractable Awnings? I sure did! Wanting a better solution than flimsy cantilevered umbrellas on our patio, I filled out their online form to have a nearby dealer contact me.

That nearby dealer was NewBrook Home Improvements. Well, turns out they’re roofers as well, as our roof was nearing two decades old and would be due for replacement soon. I set an appointment for a consult and quote on a new roof and custom awning.

NewBrook was terrific. Dermot, the owner. came to measure everything, and provided quotes for the roof and awning. Given the well publicized supply chain woes this year, I expected a long wait, but he was able to get the roofing crew out within one week. The awning was a custom order, and had a few hiccups in shipping, but he kept me informed along the way.

Dermot’s approach is courteous and low pressure, and he wants his customers to understand exactly what goes into a job. He (and his team) show up on the dot when he says to expect him. He visits during jobs to ensure everything is on point, and communicates regularly to ensure all questions are answered. When issues arise, he is prompt to offer solutions.

NewBrook Home improvement replaced all of my windows and my patio glass sliding door. Great quality, great value, great knowledge and Dermot and his staff were very hospitable! I love the new windows and patio door. The patio door has built in blinds, which I love! They swapped out my fixed picture bathroom windows to windows that can easily open and close for fresh air in the bathroom. All windows were superior quality and value as compared to other quotes that I received. I will definitely use NewBrook Home Improvement for future projects around my house!

This week, NewBrook Home Improvement installed a Sunsetter awning and I love it! I originally called to make an appointment and Dermot arrived in 2 days. He did not upsell and was concise about purchasing only items necessary for my conditions. I was expecting the delivery in 3 weeks minimum (including the 1-week that Dermot provides for homeowners change their mind about a detail such as material or color). The awning was actually installed in exactly 2 weeks of my original meeting.! The crew was very professional and did an excellent installation!

New Brook replaced my roof and installed 6" gutters, downspouts, and gutter guards. Excellent experience from start to finish. I asked about the different GAF shingle options; Dermot explained the differences but didn't try to up-sell something I didn't need. Both the roof and gutter crews did a great job -- worked fast and thoroughly cleaned up all debris. Couldn't be happier with the completed job. Dermot McDermott was great to work with. We had a lot of old leaky gutters that needed to be replaced. Dermot’s crew came one day and took all the old gutters down without leaving a trace. They did such a good job cleaning up after removing all the gutters that I didn’t even notice the gutters were gone when I came home from work. They came back the next day and installed all the gutters with leaf guard in less than half a day. Night and day difference! Thanks Dermot!

They did a very professional job of installing my Sun Setter Screen. The reason for the 4 stars is because we had to wait for 3 months for them to come and install the job. But to be fair they said they were short of drivers due to the covid.

We had lost shingles during a wind storm and were getting water damage in the house. Based on friends and neighbors recommendations I decided to work with NewBrook for my complete roof replacement.

I filled out the form on their web page and the owner, Dermot, contacted me on the same day and we got the assessment set up. NewBrooks rates are extremely competitive and even my insurance company was impressed.

At every point of the process Dermot clearly communicated what the process would be and timeline that would be followed. They dropped the materials off on a Monday as discussed and started promptly the next morning.

Our home needed a solution to a leaking problem in our basement and had gutters and the LeafRelief system installed in Mid-April 2020. Everyone was extremely professional and courteous; from the owner to the installers. They arrived on time, was expedient during the job and left our yard in an immaculate condition. Since then we have had several downpours and NO water in the basement.

I chose NewBrook Home Improvement to replace the roofing on my house. Mr. McDermott is professional and personable and seems to really care about the quality of work provided by his company. His quote was not the lowest I received, but it was fair as the quality of materials he uses are better than what others offered. The work was performed exactly as scheduled and their cleanup was thorough.
My only reservation about my new roof is the appearance and has nothing to do with the quality of the job done. Mr. McDermott has assured me that this is the way this new roofing appears. My husband (who has worked around new residential construction for over 30yrs.) has told me that the work is fine and is very satisfied. These shingles are not the traditional uniform rectangular shingles. The shapes are random and this can look sloppy in some areas. The pictures of the product in the brochure do not look quite as random as the actual finished product, something you might take into account if you are considering this product.

This is the second time I've used Dermot and his crew - the first was for a new roof while this time I needed new windows and a couple of ramps (one indoor/one outdoor) for handicap access. Dermot is a absolute pleasure to deal with - pleasant, knowledgeable, punctual and fair. His crew does excellent work and leaves the work site cleaner than they found it. I can't say enough about their great prices and excellent work. The next time I need work done, I will call them again.

My wife and I are extremely happy with the windows and the service provided by Dermot and Newbrook Home Improvement. From our first estimate, Dermot gave us his cell phone number and indicated to reach out at any time.
Dermot was incredibly responsive and patient as my wife and I received numerous quotes for the window replacement. After doing our research, we found that Dermot's quote was the best value. We even opted to add blinds in the glass for our upgraded slider door! This door is an incredible addition to our kitchen!
On the morning of the install, Dermot showed up when the install crew did and once again, reminded us to reach out if we had any questions or concerns. Dermot was in the area and stopped by later in the day as well to check on the crew. We knew that we had a subfloor issue as well and the crew also fixed that at a reasonable cost.
The day after the installation, we noticed the house was considerably less drafty. The windows themselves are sleek, easy to clean, and a much-needed upgrade from our builder-grade windows. It's now a few months out from our install and the windows are still functioning great. I've also noticed a moderate decrease in our energy bills.
I have no doubt that should any other issues arise, I'd be able to reach out to Dermot and have him on our side working with the window manufacturer. A couple years down the line I will need a roof replacement and Dermot will undoubtedly be my first call.

I have had difficulties with contractors not returning phone calls and following-up. No difficulties with New Brook Home Improvement. They responded promptly to our initial inquiry, provided the requested estimate, and waited patently until we had evaluated all options. Once we selected them to do the work, they again promptly came for final measurements, ordered our windows and doors, and promptly did the installation work which included building an exterior finished wall. The finished product exceeded our expectations.

Mr. McDermott made a really good presentation of the types of materials that are used. Because they are certified by the manufacturer, the warranty is wonderful. When comparing bids from local roofers it's important to make sure they are going to use the best underlayment and other materials and offer the manufacturer's warranty. The price was good and others in the near-range of price could not offer the same warranty. The crew worked great together and cleaned up the work area well. NewBrook had been recommended by neighbors and we will also recommend them.
