I don’t usually write reviews, but I had to take the time for this one because this company was by far one of the best construction companies I’ve ever worked with—and I’ve hired many contractors over the years.
From the start, Nef and his team were upfront about costs and transparent about their business practices. He and his wife personally came out to meet us, taking the time to build a genuine relationship. We negotiated a fair price that reflected the quality of work expected, and they delivered beyond our expectations.
His crew was professional, polite, and hardworking. They were always willing to go the extra mile for any small added requests, and they completed the project within the agreed timeframe, ensuring we were completely satisfied.
Simply outstanding. I will not need to look for another construction company again!

I used NC Repair and Remodeling to take care of three projects, both inside and outside. They built a covered.entrance portico for our front door area, replaced the front door itself, and replaced our gas stovetop with an electric induction top. The work was done professionally and efficiently. We are very happy with the work and would use them again. I wholeheartedly recommend this company and their work.

Nef and Betsie were a pleasure to work with on our (small townhouse) main level remodel. They listened to what we were looking to do, and provided appropriate recommendations for materials. They made suggestions for minor additions (without trying to upsell us) that made a big difference on the overall renovation. Nef clearly knows his craft, and had his team go above and beyond to do the work correctly, for example, taking the painful time to remove three layers of old kitchen flooring. Our lead project manager Wilmer was fantastic, and kept us updated on progress and next steps. The team was professional, always happy and laughing, clearly enjoyed the work, and they cleaned up at end of each day (who does that!). We could not be happier with the remodel (new floors, paint, ceiling recessed lights and fans, fireplace removal, bathroom updates, and entire kitchen reno with relocation of appliances), and the cost was extremely reasonable. It has been four months and we still walk into the main floor and smile at the changes. We 100% plan to use him for updates to our upper level in the coming months. Nef was so nice to work into the evening to get my chandelier moved so it would be hanging over my new dining table for Christmas! It’s 7:00pm now and he is just leaving. And insisted on cleaning eventhough I offered to do it so he could get home to his family!

Nef Castaneda remodeled our old basement and installed there a new bathroom, which did not exist before. His wife Betsy helped me find and order the right materials that fit my style and budget. She understood my need for color coordination, limitation of unnecessary ornamentation and desire to make it a simple, light, and inviting design. Betsy found a cabinet company that was able to make Scandinavian style looking cabinets for my Kitchenet and laundry room.
I was amazed with Nef’s ability to overcome any problem and to find the right solution. For example, when there were difficulties with the permission to put a construction dumpster on the street during demolition, Nef found a solution.
Another example. Working in the basement, Nef’s team installed a new supporting beam. It improved the structure of the upper floors of the house, so at last it was possible to close the bathroom door on the first floor above the new beam.
Also, during demolition we discovered asbestos in our basement. Nef and Betsy helped us find a company to remove the asbestos and fit in the schedule of work. Thanks to Nef and his team the project passed all of the inspections on the first try and I did not have to worry. His team was so determined to finish the project close to deadline that they worked Saturdays and even on Thanksgiving Day they were installing custom shower doors in the new bathroom.

Nef and his team completed renovations of our 2 bathrooms. Team was professional and accommodated our schedule requests. The full project took approximately 2 weeks as promised which was a lot faster than other companies were promising. The team was not only professional but very friendly and made sure to ask for our input when needed. The price was very competitive and we were able to include the materials we wanted. I’d like to thank the team specifically for befriending our dogs during the project as they sometimes would get in the way. Overall, great experience and I would hire this team again in the future.

NC repair and remodeling is the best contractor I've ever met! I had a tenant in my house whom destroyed my home. The owner came to the house and gave me a honest estimate for the repairs. Not only was the price reasonable but the professionalism was off the charts. They went above and beyond, their customer service is impecable. All repairs were done correctly and we're completed in a very short amount of time! The owner also gave me detailed pictures of the process during and after the issue was repaired. In all my 20 years of owning a house and dealing with contractors, NC repair and remodeling exceeded my expectations and I finally got the repairs done correctly. I cannot thank this small business that goes above and beyond for their clients. I own a large, gymnastics gym in Laurel Maryland, and when I contacted the owner several days back because I had a leak in my roof. I asked him if it would be possible for him and his crew to take care of it by a major event that I’m hosting on Sunday morning. For the past three mornings, him and his crew have been at my gym figuring out the issue. He updated me daily of what they got done and what still needed to be done to be completed and reassured me that everything will be done before the big event. This morning I received a several pictures from the owner of my ceiling and the finished products. Everything was patched up and covered like nothing has happened. Absolutely blown away of the punctuality and professionalism demonstrated by the business. I highly recommend them to anyone who wants a job well done!

We worked with NC Repair and Remodeling to finish our basement. Nef and his team listened to our ideas and vision for the basement, ran with it, and gave us exactly what we wanted for a fair price. We were lost on how to fix our flooring. We had estimates that were sky high and we were so overwhelmed but then we Found NC repair. They gave us a solution that no one had thought about and it was a perfect solution for us. The cost was less than half of the lowest estimate that we had originally received. They did a terrific job installing railing on my back porch. It was a difficult job & two other contractors had already declined to take it. NC was affordable & effective. I'm now contracting them to replace my fence. I have total confidence they'll do a great job on that, too.

I have contacted the company to do kitchen counter top replacement and dishwasher installation work. I have witnessed amazing professional service from the early stage of communicating my need to the delivery of final work. Our front porch needed some serious updating so I contacted Nef. He installed a new lock and kick plate on our front door and changed our porch light. It went from ugly gold to really nice stainless steel in an afternoon! I highly recommend his services!

I contracted NC Repair & Remodel to waterproof my basement. Turns out NCRR is a master in all the trades. They ended up installing a new window plus I've scheduled an appointment with them to install wood floors throughout my townhouse. Excellent service in all areas!

I contacted Nef after my shower drain suddenly started draining very slow. Like VERY slow. It came out of nowhere and I was freaking out. Nef came out and unclogged it for me. Nef turned on the faucet and flushed the toilet to hear the pipes work. He was very informative of things that should not be flushed down the toilet. He is very knowledgeable and I couldn’t have picked a better person to contact at a time like this.

I wanted to surprise my husband by mounting our TV and had no experience in doing so, when I contacted NC Repair and Remodeling they were very quick to respond and schedule the work. I highly recommend them for any work that needs to be done around the house. Our guy was very professional and really included you in any decisions that needed to be made (even though it was a simple TV mount). They absolutely did not disappoint, and my husband was stoked the TV was finally mounted.

Overall, they had great quality service and excellent communication.
