I had an apartment that after a 20 plus year tenant needed restoration. Chris came and added insolation and resurfaced the ceilings, repaired the walls, updated the kitchen, and built an attached garage to the building. The work was completed within time and budget. He and his crew did a great job, and I would definitely use him again.

We hired nautilus construction to do a full remodel and renovation of our kitchen. We also did this kitchen renovation with young children and Chris and his team did an amazing job, they were extremely accommodating, flexible to work around our needs all the while finishing the kitchen in a timely manner. From the initial design and layout to the quality and completion of the finished product we experienced firsthand the unwavering commitment to excellence that Chris has built through nautilus. The quality, attention to detail, timely communication, and customer care were exceptional. Without question we would highly recommend nautilus construction.

We were super delighted by the work done for us by Nautilus Construction. We had a modest kitchen renovation we needed done before we moved into our home and Nautilus went above and beyond in their completion of our project. The crew members were polite and friendly and the work they did was exactly what we had asked for. Their attention to detail and making sure everything was just right and what we wanted was so comforting. The finished project completely changed the look and function of our kitchen to exactly what we wanted. We’d have them back in our home any time!

I paid $122,158 total for a 194 sf kitchen remodel in Kennebunk. Huge price for a not very big job. All cabinetry is from an orange logoed Big Box store. No weight bearing walls were moved, no floor replaced, no backsplash installed.

I had initially signed a contract for $92,198 in April 2023, but the work was not completed until the end of March 2024 with nearly $30K of overruns. During that time, I had 211 nights without a kitchen sink, in spite of repeated requests to provide a makeshift sink. This made for a financially, emotionally, and nutritionally (211 days of takeout) devastating year.

I initially chose Nautilus Builders because their marketing appeared high-end and their project timeline in the contract was 8-10 weeks (it took 51 weeks). It was an unpleasant process with an extraordinarily high cost in terms of lost time from work and lost dollars all for a fairly pedestrian kitchen.

Nautilus Construction is simply the best. Having people working in your home every day for months can be stressful, but not with Nautilus. Chris has created a culture of professionalism and excellence that every member of his crew embraces. From our initial conversations with Chris all the way through our final walkthrough with Henry, the amazing lead on our project, we knew our kitchen, mudroom, and laundry room renovations were in good hands. We appreciated Chris’s attention to keeping on budget and on schedule and Henry’s expert oversight of the entire project and his patience with our questions, our decision-making process and our dog. It is a pleasure to work with people who take such pride in doing their job well. Upon my first meeting with Chris (owner) I knew this was who I wanted to do our project. From our first meeting to the very completion of our project it felt seamless. The team is courteous, polite, respectful and talented. We had a few hiccups (to be expected) along the way, and the Nautilus crew kept everything flowing smoothly, on time and within budget.

We most definitely made the right decision when we chose Nautilus Construction for our project to renovate our weekend house into our full-time retirement residence. They skillfully transformed our condominium in a historic 1895 building, giving us a beautiful new staircase, new kitchen, custom built-in cabinet/bookcase, crown moldings, and updated flooring and lighting.

Everyone we worked with throughout the process was excellent… Chris and his staff were talented and amazing. Owen’s attention to detail goes beyond being a fine craftsman to a true artist. The design service, the subcontractors, and the vendors were all very professional, informative, and easy to work with.

In addition to the precision and quality of workmanship, the real talent was exhibited by doubling our kitchen counter and cabinet space within the confines of structural walls that could not be moved.

As with any major project, there were bumps in the road; but it is important to note that they were only bumps and were rectified immediately – there was never any drama.

We’re most happy to say that all of this was accomplished without going over budget. We’re comfortably enjoying our newly renovated surroundings and would whole-heartedly recommend Nautilus Construction.

Working with Chris and the Nautilus team was an amazing experience. When we initially met Chris there was no question his company was the right fit for our needs. His professionalism and honesty was easy to trust and connect with. We felt comfortable from the beginning that he would steer us in the right direction as to where our budget should be spent and where we could save. Very often you talk to people that have horrible experiences working with contractors. There are surprises costs that aren’t discussed, there are unending delays, and there is a lack of communication – we consider ourselves lucky that none of this was the case with Nautilus. We were initially worried because we weren’t living in the town that our project was taking place in. Those concerns were immediately eliminated when we saw how often we would receive pictures every week of progress and had regular calls consulting the schedule and decisions that had to be made on a timeline. Chris and team were always happy to see us and take time to show us around for our visits. The men that worked on our house far exceeded expectations – Chris doesn’t just hire the kindest and most talented staff but, he also recommends/partners with sub-contractors that meet his high standards. We would recommend Chris and Nautilus to anyone considering a project in Maine and are beyond appreciative for the hard work and talent that he brought to making our home the beautiful reality we envisioned.

We had Nautilus Construction remodel our upstairs bathroom and we are thrilled with the end result! The prior tub did not drain well, the tub was small, it was a surround tub... now thank to Nautilus we have beautiful tiles up the walls of the new tub, 2 coats of paint on the walls, and the owner, Chris gets back to you in a timely manner:)
