Mudd Master Drywall & Paint

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Lewis from Mudd Master Drywall & Paint. I called Lewis with an urgent request for help. I had a contractor mess up the texture on my ceiling and I was in desperate need of Lewis’s skills! I’ve heard and read about Lewis’s top notch handy work, but
I am here to say they are ALL true and then some. He came out to my house within 2 days, fixed my ceiling, the texture matches amazing and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Lewis also added quarter round to another room and fixed a washer room outlet. I have attached before and after pics to show his work!

His prices are fair, his work is amazing, he is easy to work with and communicate with, he is trustworthy, and NO I am NOT getting paid for this review. ;) I just throughly appreciate an honest review and a reliable contractor.

You’ll be doing yourself no favors if you don’t call Lewis! He’s your guy for sure. I now have him on speed dial.

Lewis was incredibly easy to communicate with and work with. He was able to get my drywall repair done within 4 days of me contacting him and did an incredible job. He is definitely a seasoned professional who is great at his trade and was also very easy to work with. I definitely recommend his services to anyone in the Blacksburg area look for repairs, home improvements, or any handyman services.

Mudd Master recently completed a project for me in Christiansburg, VA. We are renovating a 2400 sq ft , 60 year old house and had already removed all drywall & Plaster throughout the home.

Lewis and his crews were easy to work with and presented a reasonable estimate and great timeline for completion. I have done several drywall projects in houses over the years - but doing an entire house is something beyond my capabilities.

The crews did excellent work hanging and finishing for a "Paint Ready" house.

Lewis has been easy to work with and great at giving tips and instruction on how best to finish the painting. During the initial walk through to estimate the project, Lewis gave good advice and offered ideas on how best to make final preparations for his crews to make the project go a smoothly as possible.

The work itself is excellent - the walls and ceilings are smooth. I have painted the entire house since Mudd Master completed the drywall - it looks great.

Very nice and got the work done that we had requested. Drywall looks great and he was able to seam uneven drywall and plaster. Would use again in the future.

Mudmasters came and gave us great service and done a great drywall job on our ceiling. The job was finished on time and at a reasonable price.

Lewis did a fantastic job! This is coming from my husband and I (who normally do all of our own house projects). He came over and mudded our entire entry way, laundry room, and a couple of arch ways all in one day! The next day he came and sanded and primed! Very impressed with his efficiency.

Had some ceiling/drywall damage from HVAC leaking from the attic. We got a quote quickly & work started the next week. Great at scheduling, showed up on time & when promised & did a good job on the various projects around our house. Would highly recommend for drywall issues.

Professional, on time and great to work with. Lewis was able to come out and give an estimate to finish drywall on a remodel I was completing and started right away. The job was completed in the given timeframe and to satisfaction. Would highly recommend!

Lewis repaired the drywall in a 35 year old garage and repainted. He repaired numerous holes in the drywall and he effectively handled the high moisture content in wall resulting from years of being unfinished. The garage now looks fantastic. I found Lewis very easy to work with and very reasonable. He fit my small job in before starting a larger commitment that helped me keep my goals of refinishing before a scheduled install of Tesla powerwalls. I would use Lewis and MudMaster again for any future work.

I called for services to fix a caved in ceiling in the middle of the week, late in the day, and was able to have Louis come out to my house the next day in the morning.
They understood my situation (which was very last minute) and were very accommodating. They were very nice throughout the whole process, and now I have a perfect ceiling (yippee!).

Muddmaster finished drywall in our basement. Showed up on time, worked hard, and stood by work. Very affordable. Was happy enough with the work that we hired them to paint as well.

Louis installed a custom closet I ordered from Home Depot in my new house. OUTSTANDING WORKMANSHIP. He not only showed up, on time, but finished the job in 2 DAYS as promised. I read the reviews from 5-6 years ago and that is not the same person that worked with me. My wife and I have other projects in the future and we plan to call on him again. Lewis repaired and transformed our dining/living room walls from the original 70's textured plaster to a smooth finish. He painted the ceilings and walls and installed new baseboards this past summer. In November, Lewis worked a series of small jobs when a flooring company did not deliver on several promises. Work included electrical wiring for new appliance, painting ceilings, cutting existing cabinetry and countertops. Lewis was very respectful of my time and patient with all my questions and was willing to adjust as the project evolved. Very satisfied with his work and the price was reasonable.

Dangerous! Dishonest. I hired Lewis to do my bathroom, install drywall and basically update my house. He misrepresents his skills and qualifications, presents a scope of work with a vague, general estimate - verbally agrees to details - then comes back and charges extra for things that had been agreed upon as covered under the original estimate. He and his wife bullied me and he threatened me and threatened to take me to court. He does just enough work so that you are living in a total construction zone and then he stops work and tells you that you owe him way more money than you agreed to pay. This is a con game of extortion that this husband and wife team have played out with numerous people in the Blacksburg, Christiansburg area. He does poor work, has a bad work ethic, is sloppy, and left my house in a shambles. I now have to get my handyman to finish where Lewis left off. This has been a Real Nightmare!

Terrible experience. I'm finishing my basement and had Lewis do the drywall. On day 1 of the job he told me it would cost 34% more than his original quote because he didn't know there wasn't an outside door to the basement (even though he came over twice to measure before giving me the original quote). The drywall work was ok with some mistakes here and there, but he left the place a complete mess with piles of dried plaster on the walls and floor and drywall dust everywhere. At the end of the job, he tried to charge me an extra fee for carrying the sheetrock down the stairs even though the quote made it sound like that was included in the total. When I said I wouldn't pay the extra fee he threatened to pursue me with the courts. A real nightmare.
