Extremely Disappointed with Morton Buildings – Would Not Recommend
I had the misfortune of working with Morton Buildings for an insurance repair job, and the experience was nothing short of exhausting. It took months—yes, months—just to get them to cooperate with my insurance provider and agree on a price. That should’ve been the first red flag.
Once that was settled and material had arrived, actually getting Morton to show up to perform the repair became its own saga. It took three separate scheduling attempts before they managed to arrive, each delay blamed on "equipment failures" and further delayed each time due to the crew needing to go out of state for other work. After all that waiting, I hoped things would finally go smoothly. I was wrong.
During the repairs, Morton informed me that materials were shorted—a glaring oversight. Even worse, they caused additional damage to an area of the building they weren’t even supposed to touch. While they did agree to cover the labor and materials for the repairs, the situation only got more frustrating from there.
It took six weeks just to receive the replacement materials, and then another seven and a half weeks for them to show up to do the repair and finished the original work. When the crew finally returned, they discovered that the originally shorted materials had not been delivered—which meant another trip back to their shop.
This entire experience was a marathon of miscommunication, delays, and preventable mistakes. Morton Buildings may be a well-known name, but based on what I went through, their service quality is far from dependable. If you’re considering them for any work—especially insurance-related repairs—proceed with caution. I wish I had.

Had a small building built by Morton a couple years ago, could not be more satisfied. From the planning to the construction crew, everything was top notch. Thank You Morton!

So far same as everyone else, except I had a response for a rep, John. He came out, saw the potential building site. Talked a lot about how they are a family owned business and manufacture just about everything for their buildings... blah blah. A lot of fluff. He said he would get back to me with a quote a day or two later.. Its been a couple weeks, no response. I've emailed, texted and called..

They don't have many "crews" so the building wasn't even going to get started till October at the earliest..

On to a different company. If you cant even respond before I pay for a building no way will I get a response if I have an issue with it like others have said.

Filled out info online asking for them to contact me, never did. I assumed maybe I missed something so I thought I would call. i have called twice and have never gotten a call back.
I own a business and if my employees were this poor I would fire them. Honestly one of the worst experiences I have had.

My wife and I just closed on a lake property in Webster WI. and want to build this spring. Looks like I will be going through Lester, Cleary, Menards or Sherman to get mine. So far though Joe the Lester rep. has been the only one that seems interested in doing business. Kind of sad that these companies have reps that have zero interest to compete for my business and lack urgency to be the best, instead they are only competitive when it comes to being lazy or complacent. I would be the top salesperson for any of these companies based on my personal experience and how uninterested they seem be in doing business. So far, again, Lester has been the most (only) responsive business.

I own a Morton barn, and I have been trying to get in contact with the Monticello office to do some repairs and modifications to our existing barn, and we also want to build an indoor arena. No one responds to my emails or returns my calls.

Update: Dolly from Morton Customer Concerns contacted me mid-August and said she would help. It's been another month and still haven't heard from anyone in sales. The service at Morton is appalling.

Completed online request for information. Waited two weeks and never received any information. Emailed the company and after another 2 weeks finally got an info packet in the mail that didn't have anymore info on it than the website already had. I attempted to call them twice and got voicemail each time. Left 2 messages with my phone number asking for a call back and never received one. Not even sure this place exists anymore. No idea how they do any business.

I had them Richard a salesperson come out never sent me the estimate that we had spoken at the building site. Sent all the information and emailed back after to see what was going on. No reply. Took off work early to meet him too and obviously wasted my time. I also have multiple friends who contacted them for estimates they never followed through. Horrible customer service don’t know how there in business.

I was adding on a small addition to our shop that was originally built by Morton Buildings so I had them tackle our project. I was told the entire 14x30' addition would take a little over a month and it has been 4 months to date and they still have a lot to finish up. The General that was assigned to our project has not called me back in over ten days. I did receive a call from his supervisor and he has explained to me that the original contract did not include the exterior stucco , or the service door entry in the existing building so I will need to pay for those directly! He then proceeded to inform me that the door is 6-8 weeks out. Overall, the product they build is of good quality, but there management and organization skills are at an all time low. I would suggest to use a different company than Morton Buildings.

Echoing another reviewer, if I could give zero stars for customer service, I would. After several months of trying to get in touch with a salesperson, I finally did. Several months later, I got a quote for a new building. Several months later, I ordered some tin to repair an existing building (after several weeks of trying to be in touch with that same salesman and being told that "Nobody but the salesman can look up a delivery date" by the unhelpful receptionist). A month later, the tin has not arrived. I am expected to be available at all hours of the day for "if and when" a driver might show up. This place is a clown outfit, and I have absolutely no idea how they have such a grand reputation - I certainly don't see buying a whole new building from them due to their inability to communicate and a distinct lack of follow-through.

If I could give zero stars for customer service I would. I have had my pole shed for almost two years and I was not going to write a review but a post card I received in the mail a couple days ago from the building inspector pushed it over the edge and I need to write this review. The building itself is awesome and the builder of the structure were great. Beside that everything was the worst experience I have ever had. The excavator dug up my underground dog fence and left it for me to fix. The fence was properly marked with stakes. The dumpster company Morton got threw things out of the dumpster and left them in my yard. The sales agent signed off on the final paperwork indicating everything was finalized to come back a few days later and say I needed to authorize an additional payment. I questioned him that we already signed and finalized everything. He proceeded to "threaten" me that I don't want to challenge him or the company because I would not win in court. The post card from the building inspector I received in the mail 18 months after the project was saying the final inspection had not been completed and if it was not done within the next 10 days a lien would be placed on my property. I called Morton and I left a message with the receptionist and I have still not had a return call five days later. I scheduled the inspection myself and had it taken care of - something Morton should have done in the first place. The product itself is quality but everything else was horrible. If customer service is something you want avoid this company and the people that work for them.
