WHO will repair and replace MAJOR metal roofing on very tall buildings in the middle of winter??? Tim and Scott did… that’s who… Who answers the phone? Shows up as promised? Works until the job is finished regardless of WIND-RAIN-SNOW…by the Grace of God-MONTANA SPECIALTY CABIN-did that for us….and cleaned up the mess…and stacked and stored all the recycled material. Detailed cost estimates by task provided in advance both from photos and on-site inspection. Two work teams, first for media blasting, worked long hours each day and were respectful to minimize impact on surrounding yard and buildings. All waste removed from the site without using my personal garbage cans, and there was a lot of waste. Good communication from the work teams on the daily work tasks and completed the project in just seven work days. Log rot repair, staining and chinking look great. Also appreciate the team coming to Red Lodge in southeast Montana 500 miles from the contractor’s home location.

We had a unique project where we wanted to construct a small cabin with a large attached pavilion for outdoor living space. Although this wasn’t the typical build for Nelson, he took on the project and helped us with the design based on the dimensions we had to work with. From day 1, Nelson was on it. He was there to guide us along the way, from prepping and laying the concrete pad through the log cabin and pavilion construction phases. Nelson and his team were readily available at all times to answer questions. With his vast knowledge and expertise Nelson gave recommendations and always took our input into creating this impressive structure. Nelson invited us to the shop to show us some of his other cabin projects they were working so that we could decide on various stain and trim colors. He even gave recommendations on local sub-contractors to help the project along and took the time to make sure it all went smooth. Of note, his electricians were also fantastic.
I will say without a doubt, Montana Specialty Log Construction is the go-to log cabin builder in northwest Montana/northern Idaho regions.
This was our first project of this size, and for this large and dynamic project, we are 100% satisfied with Montana Specialty Log Construction!

Always attentive to every detail, they made sure that we received the home we hoped for. On site, Tim and Scott were experts at their craft as they created the perfect structure. Once the shell was complete, Gene and Bran-dan applied the finishing touches of chinking and staining that made the cabin look absolutely amazing. Nelson and two other hard working employees installed the functional and beautiful stair banister and loft railing. Of all the contractors I've ever dealt with none have been better than Montana Specialty Log. I meet Nelson thru a project he was doing for a neighbor who is very happy with him. Nelson responded quickly to my request, gave me a quote within 24 hours. 10 days after I gave him a deposit my project was done and installed. He was easy to communicate with always. It doesn't get any better than Montana Specialty Log.

I had been looking at several options for building on my site. I started talking to Nelson at least a year before I signed up. After going to meet him and his family and seeing their work in person I knew I wanted to give them my business. Nelson is incredibly hard working, honest, patient and quite a craftsman. His pricing is fair beyond comparison to his competitors. Once Nelson and his crew started onsite the cabin was completely dried -in by six weeks as agreed upon. As with any project I expected Some unforeseen costs, problems etc but really there were none. Nelson and crew came in on time and on budget with no excuses.
