A big thumbs up to Ryan, the Manager at Modern Windows, for excellent service and response time. A decorative mobile that was hanging on our sliding glass patio doors fell between the window panes preventing the patio door from closing. Ryan showed up within 30 minutes to address and correct the problem. I highly recommend Modern Windows for any of your glass needs.

Despite a slight delay, the railing product came in exactly as ordered and installation was accomplished without a hitch. Service was good and the team at Modern were great to work with.

We have used Modern Windows for various projects in the past, always with great satisfaction. This time we had hired a local contractor for a small deck job and this person showed us that he was totally unreliable and his word couldn't be trusted. Modern came to our rescue...why didn't we think of them first?! Derek gave us excellent advice and also support when we had to sue the original contractor to get our deposit back. The men from Modern did a superb job taking over from where the other contractor left us. The finished result is beyond our expectations and the installer, Larry kindly thought to design a catcher for all the needles which are such a problem. All works so well and looks good too. We recently had Modern Windows come and replace our front door as well as our patio sliding doors. After a miss communication occurred that left us a bit unhappy with our new front door, Dave - General Manager was quick to address it and replaced a glass panel at no extra cost to us. We really appreciated the extra mile he went to correct the situation and to ensure our happiness with our new door. Install team was also amazing, prompt and very polite. I had an issue with a couple windows during recent winter storms. These were installed nearly 7 years ago. Today, Ryan came by and showed me how to properly clean the tracks and drain holes (which I had not done and did not know how to do).

He was friendly and professional and showed me what to do so I can keep up with maintenance from now on. I was blown away at how helpful this Courtenay business is and has been over the years. I have more windows to replace and they will be getting my business.

They did an outstanding job of installing replacement windows in our sunroom. They replaced all of the windows in our house some years ago. They were quick and efficient and left the job site spotless. I would recommend them to anyone.

Awning repair. Did work without any sense of costing only to be surprised at the final point. Is returned product damaged. After a discussion with the owner the issue was corrected , refund made and new awning ordered,

Had three retrofit windows installed. Price was competitive with other quotes I received, and ETA for install was shorter. Sales rep gave good advice on window selection. Went smoothly other than a couple of iterations on the quote for corrections. Windows were installed within the estimated time frame. Installers were polite and the windows look good.

I’m very happy with this company. The office staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The estimator Bill knows his stuff, makes appointments and keeps them. He is accurate in his estimates and not overpriced. The installers come when they are due, they do a good job and are tidy and courteous. The final invoice is what was originally quoted. Gutter damaged by snow sliding off roof. Although it took awhile for someone to show up to repair gutters, it was done in a friendly professional manner. Kudos to the repair guy.

Request an estimate for replacement for patio door as it keeps coming off the tracks. Derek arrived on time and provide sound advice regarding corrective maintenance which ended up saving us money in the short term. Still plan on replacing the patio door and all windows down the road. Thanks for the excellent customer service.

I had this company install dura deck on my back deck. Due to high demand, it took a few months for the instal to be scheduled. Ryan, the installer, was fantastic! Always professional and courteous, his meticulous attention to detail resulted in a beautiful deck that should be around for the next few decades. I am very satisfied with the end result and would highly recommend this company if you are looking to have Dura deck installed.

These guys are a joke,
Absolute waste of my time and his I guess.
Derek came to look at giving us quotes on Duradek, Windows and Doors for a renovation.
He came on a Tuesday, said he would get us a quote by Friday....or the following Monday, I said OK. it seemed like a long time for a quote on 10 Windows and a Duradek price, given he measured everything when he was here.
I called on the Wednesday and no record of any quote in the system.
The nice person on the phone said Derek and Bill were there, and she would ask him about the quote.
Derek didn't even have the courtesy to pick up the phone and apologize for the delay, and just passed onto the person on the phone that he was working on it.
Whatever.....
I was warned about them, Should have listened, i guess.
I cancelled the request for quote. IF its this prompt for a quote, imagine what service I would have received if I had pulled the trigger.
Sad service.

After some initial difficulty in diagnosing the problem with our garage door opener, the issue was resolved to the customer's satisfaction in a professional manner. This company values its customers and provides good service.

I have been using Modern window since the 80s. All my homes have had Modern's windows. Even shipped them out to Alberta in the 90s for our house. Now my daughter's house has all new Modern windows. I just ordered three more for my parent's home. If it wasnt for Dave I'm not sure where I would go. Love this company. Great products!

I contacted the friendly and very helpful staff in the Courtney office and they made sure to expedite my Bathroom window delivery. I received it within 10 days. This was extremely helpful during my bathroom renovation and my contractor told me that everyone else had a wait of 2 months .

We had replacement windows installed and the technicians were friendly, courteous, professional and knowledgable. They were able to fit us in quickly when they had a cancellation as things were quite backed up due to Covid. The office staff is also very friendly, courteous, professional and knowledgable.

They did a wonderful job on our window inserts that were being replaced from a different manufacturer, 5 to be exact were changed out.

Modern is a full service shop with great Windows, doors and gutters. They also are always available to provide service for their products, even many years later!
