Wow! The Modern Renovations team exceeded our expectations in quality, customer service, and timeliness. Larry and Amanda were very responsive to our questions. The crews always had smiles on their faces, worked hard, and cleaned up completely after each day's work. We are thrilled with how our house looks—it's like a new home!

Larry came to evaluate our roof Monday before the biggest rain of the year so far. He noticed many holes in our roof. He patched some of them to make sure our roof didn’t leak before we could get a new roof on it. I’m so grateful we didn’t have any water damage inside our home this morning! Thanks Larry!

Modern Renovations has been such a great group of folks to work with. We have had them come out to replace siding on two faces of our house due to heavy wind damage and not only were they able to match the exact colour we have for the other sides, but were also able to make it blend right in so it didn't look out of place with the existing siding.

We will definitely continue to use their services for all our siding needs, and even look into using them the other housing repairs they offer as we need it.

I had a challenging, roofing design...a flat roof over my garage, with wood railing. Over the years, it procured extensive water damage in my garage, from water coming thru the 4 x 4 railing posts. Several contracting companies would not provide an estimate...several others provided estimates with extreme costs. Modern Reservations provided not only top-of-the-line roofing technology for this difficult project, but at a great cost. The workers were professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. Modern Renovations did a great job on our roof replacement! Almost 8 years later when one of the vent pipe collars began to leak they came right out and fixed it. This company does good work and stands behind it down the road.

The team did a great job. Clean up nicely. They arrived as scheduled. They team worked long hours to complete the job. Everyday went well. The roof looks great. They kept informed on the custom skylight when it was arriving. Came out and installed and cleanup. i would recommend the team.

Got a whole townhouse roof done in less than a day, cleaned up after themselves, replaced some of our path lights that were discarded by mistake for free and were extremely good at communicating with us from inspection to follow up over two months later. Highly recommend!

Roof replacement was done well and quickly. I also had them build a complicated deck and although it took longer than expected once they had their A-team crew on the job, the work was excellent. I found the sales guy Nathaniel to be very knowledgeable and Kristin in the office very helpful.

They installed a new deck for me. They did an absolutely beautiful job. All work done in 3 days...only wait was for the permit. Great job guys!!

In July 2023 I had this contractor bid to rebuild my entire large 2 level deck. I was told it might take about 2 months to get a permit going and get me on the schedule. In late September 2023 I called to see where things stood and was told it was in permitting but they didn't have any other updates. This would go on from September until April 2024 with me calling the office about every 1-2 months to check in with always the response being that it was in permitting review. On several of those occasions I was told I would receive a follow up call with more information. Those calls were never made, I had to be the one to ask for updates. Most of the updates I received were directly from Jefferson County permitting office informing me that more information was needed to review the permit. Finally in April 2024 I received notice from the Jefferson County permitting office that my project was approved. I waited 4 business days and received no call so I called and the office booked my install for the following week. During the project work to dig the footers the workers struck my waste line to my septic and only mentioned it when I asked and they noted that yes they dug into it but it wouldn't be a problem and were able to work around it. Part of working around it involved cutting one of the support posts to fit around it and making sure the footing was below the level of the pipe. Things continued on relatively smoothly from there until I was called on a Thursday of the second week of work that they would be finishing up by noon the following day and would I have a check to pay for the work to give to the workers on completion. I was planning to be out of town for a few days so I told them I'd review when I returned and mail the check. When I returned on Sunday the deck was not nearly complete. On Tuesday I received a call asking if I had returned and if I was happy with the deck. The project was still incomplete at that time. I clarified the unfinished parts with the office and they indicated the workers would come and complete those final pieces that day. They did so and departed without checking in. I reviewed the project which in the end was well built and I anticipate lasting many decades. All of that being said I would never hire this company to work at my property again. Their staff never offered to provide a plan on how they were working to get my project done in a reasonable timeframe and their lack of knowledge of what their workers were doing or not doing is at a minimum bizarre. I will note we do have a roof done by them in 2019 (prior to our purchase) and the quality seems to be holding so if that is what you need perhaps consider them. However, if you need a deck I would look elsewhere for a contractor. I would have given this only 1 star but as mentioned the quality of the final product I do appreciate, but it was not worth what I had to go through to get it.

I saw Modern Renovations LLC Roofing installing a new roof on a home near my residence. I liked the work I saw them doing, the materials used and the length of time it took them to complete the job. A few months later I realized I needed a new roof on a rental property I own and a storage shed at the same site. I contacted Modern Renovations, quickly received a quote and agreed to have them replace the roofs for me. The work was completed quickly, all debris cleaned up and I had two beautiful new roofs to protect my property. I requested and received the fifty year warranty on materials and installation and am very happy with their work.

Modern Renovations is a great company. The owner, Shawn is very nice. They have great staff here. Mrs. Cheray and Kristin are absolute sweetheart's.

Things started out well when we had to call Modern Renovations back after they completed my parent's roof a few years ago which they had a warranty for. We were told by a home inspector that we had no flashing installed and it would fail inspection. I called and Larry immediately came out and was very helpful and offered to install the flashing even though it is not normally something they do anymore (although not sure why when it isnt done when it is a requirement of a home inspection) as well as agreed to help out with some roofing soffits on the front porch that had come some loose with no charge. 2 people came out to work on the house and left early without completing things. Then they sent someone else out a week or so later who was not sure of exactly how to install flashing and had no idea how to do the soffits. He was very rude, got very frustrated, and then left as well without completing both items, not even sure if the soffits were installed correctly. My father even tried to pay the workers for their time but it was refused. Then a week after that we were told that Larry himself would come back out this past Friday, I even called to confirm on Thursday, and no call no show. So just wanted to say I know that this job did not make anyone money for the company but what we thought was this company coming back after the work was done to make sure it was done right and even going further to help someone out, turned out to be my parents being blown off!

Everything was excellent. The speed with which you guys responded, scheduled, and fixed the area before rain was due to hit. We were very impressed and very pleased.

Received a quote for a simple 48.ft gutter job 6x higher than anyone in the area. Guy by the name of Jonathan shows up late to give an estimate, Stays 5 minutes and and reluctantly states he may or may not be able to do the job but promised to send an estimate.....
Anyways I get the estimate of 2,200 for a simple 48 ft. gutter. In other words He doesn't want to do the job. Shop elsewhere folks.

In today's environment of service oriented companies, it is not difficult to sound terrific selling your services or products. The real test comes when things do not work out the way they were supposed to. We had a full, new roof installed 5 years ago. When we had a problem, Larry & Shawn made sure we were taking care of & our interest were their top priority. Rather than playing "the blame game", our roof was replaced the very next day. The crew was efficient, professional & completely cleaned up any evidence of the work they had done. The following day, George Oconnel project manager, paid us a visit, inspected the site & made sure we were completely happy & satisfied (which we were).

George, Jon and crew were very helpful and I am very happy I selected Modern Renovations from other qualified installers. The crew worked on a windy day with 25mph gusts and 30 degree temps. I watched the entire process being on the roof several times and am impressed with their skills and the care they took with the entire job.

Trustworthy, honest and high quality work! In the age of cutting corners to make a quick buck, Modern Renovations sticks out as one of the few that provides an honest assessment and great solutions. Originally I had Shawn check my roof and instead of upselling me, he was honest enough to tell me that it was in good condition. I then hired him and Gabriel to replace all my windows and put railings on my deck. They were fast and communicative. I highly recommend!

I had modern do my roof in Martinsburg several years ago and was very happy with the outcome that I had them do the roofs and siding on my house in Shepherdstown. They did a really detailed fascia and sofit work and I'm pleased with the price. I would also like to thank George O'Connell for his electrical work and attention to safety concerns.

I am so happy I found Modern Renovations. Replacing my roof was something I had put off because of not knowing who to call or trust. I had other estimates but MR was the best choice. Mine was a two day job and had unknown plywood damage which was taken care of seamlessly. I love the color which Amanda helped me to pick by seeing other jobs they had done. The installation and clean up went easily with the crews being super nice and efficient. It was easy from the first phone call to the finished job.

The owner and staff are very professional and personable. The information about your project is given during a free estimate appointment. Written materials and samples are provided for you to keep and refer to allowing you to make an informed decision about the project. My calls and text messages were taken or returned very quickly. The teams are very seasoned and work together well. The existing roof was removed, and the new roof was installed in just six hours. On another day, the existing gutters were removed, and new seamless gutters were fabricated on-site using a truck mounted metal forming machine. They were finished in just one hour and forty-five minutes. All preparation and cleanup were excellent. I found very little debris afterward. I found a great company. More importantly, I made a wonderful new personal relationship with friends that I will do business with on projects in the near future. You can get the same excellent materials from other companies, but I know firsthand that you will not find a more talented, professional, and caring company to do business with anywhere.

Modern Renovations did a wonderful roof replacement and has worked with me every step of the way. I had to replace out of pocket to meet insurance requirements since the age of my roof was unknown. A roof is never cheap and you will pay more for a job to be done right. To me that includes clean up. The crew did an excellent install, they were polite and patient with all of my questions. I have OCD and only found 4 nails on the property when they finished. I would recommend to anyone and have some future projects to send their way.

Almost a year later I replaced the gutters and they sent George to take a look at the drip edge because there were cuts in it from the old gutter brackets. He offered to replace the affected drip edge pieces at no charge to make sure everything was draining from the roof as it should. Most companies don't care but Modern does. I have several other renovation projects coming I can't do myself and Modern will be who I contract for those. Hands down one of the best contractors I have worked with.

The crew showed up on time and was very impressive to watch. They didn’t mind when I went out and took pics and let my dogs out. They were very professional. They were very fast but also did an outstanding job! I did my research and they assured me the quality of work meet my expectations and it did. Larry the owner was who I meet with first. He went over all the details and gave me such a fair price. They use owens corning shingles which are a quality company. After research and 4 other estimates I went with Larry. I highly recommend Modern Renovations. He is local and been in the business for 20 yrs! If I had any questions or concerns he was right there to help. His crew is wonderful.

Jonathan came out to inspect my roof after 4 other roofing contractors had already inspected my roof and Jonathan notified me that I had wind and hail damage and I should contact my insurance company. They installed a new roof 3 years ago. Within a few months, thought we had leaks. Turns out the roof sweats. I told them to install any vents needed, they installed NONE. I have emailed (with pictures) and called dozens of times. Nobody has come out or called me back. The first year they LIED and said they had come out. But they never did. Apparently you need the 10 year warranty because it takes them that long to do anything. Will never recommend them.

Modern Renovations staff and crew were beyond helpful and professional with the replacement of the roof on our field house at Charlotte Prather Park in Martinsburg WV. The generosity of this company is incredible, Martinsburg Fastpitch Softball Inc located within Charlotte Prather Park is a non profit 5O1c3 organization, and unfortunately the replacement of the roof was not within our budget. Upon contacting Larry Demarco Jr. and Jessica at Modern Renovations we were blessed with the news that the company would completely donate the roof including all materials and labor. Once our install date was upon us the crew arrived on time and made quick work of the project. We can’t thank Modern Renovations enough for their support of our league and ultimately the future female leaders of our community.

We are extremely pleased by Modern Renovations for handling our roof project following a recent damaging hailstorm event.
We have contacted any number of roof companies in the vicinity of Martinsburg, WV, but to our surprise only two companies actually visited us for on-site assessment and estimation. More specifically, Jonathan Lee Wilde, the representative of Modern Renovations showed up on time and provided us a very professional presentation of every aspect related to the project at hand, from assessment to technologies review, covering options and many important details that we otherwise would not have known about. In fact, it was this presentation by John Wilde that tipped the scale in favor of Modern Renovations, but the price-quotation and the 25 years on labor-warranty were likewise critical parts in our decision to choose Renovations.
We were also pleased by the kind and always welcoming customer service at the Renovations office in Martinsburg WV, including Christin, Jennifer, and certainly Cheray Jones who addressed our follow-up concerns promptly and to our full satisfaction.
The crew which replaced the roof appeared also efficient, respectful, and friendly. At this point, several of weeks after the work has been completed, we experienced no leakages or visible damages, and we are very encouraged by the extended labor-warranty that Modern Renovations offers, a feature unequal to any other company that we know of.

Modern Renovations was recommended by my sales agent. I called the company and a representative, Sean, came to inspect my roof. While my interest was to simply have a patch repair where shingles had blown off, after his thorough inspection, Sean gave me an explanation to the contrary.

He explained clearly that attempting a pair repair would lead to more damage and would be even more expensive. His explanation made perfect sense to me. He explained that I should file a claim with my insurance company. Everything was clear and straightforward.

The company worked with my insurance company and all was smooth sailing. I am so PLEASED with my new roof and it is beautiful!. I highly recommend Modern Renovations and would definitely use them again.

Outstanding experience working with this professional team of expert managers and master craftsmen. We selected Modern Renovations to resolve an issue with an aging sliding door in the basement. After presenting various options, we went with one that best matched our needs. A job well done, on time, with thorough attention to detail and superb courtesy from start to finish.

I bought a townhouse a year ago with a 4 year old roof. I have damage to the roof due to improper r installation and the warranty paperwork that was transferred to me at bill of sale is not valid due to the previous home owner not calling the company to transfer the warranty. A 4 year roof that has obvious leaks with water damage inside the home causing hearty financial damage. Would not use this company not only due to the warranty issues, but the issues with it only bring a 4 year old roof that their sub contractors did not perform an efficient job at.

Modern Renovations, Martinsburg WV replaced my roof in 2019, I was sold on their warranty of workmanship and product.

My painters noticed a leak in my upstairs bathroom. I called Modern Renovations to come out and inspect the roof, I suspected it may be faulty boots and flashing around my vent pipes causing a leak. After many many phone calls and no-shows for scheduled appts a roofer from MR finally came out, Franklin. He went into my attic and said that it was not the roof and the leak was caused by another source. Franklin did not got onto my roof.

I have had multiple contractors out tying to find the "other source" , I have spent thousands of dollars and countless hours trying to find the source of the leak. I hired a plumber to look at my pipes in the attic, had A.S.K. Heating HVAC replace ductwork in my attic, I had my attic re-insulated by Comfenergy and still the leak surfaced. One of the techs for the insulation noticed my vent pipe was allowing a lot of sun light in and said it was not normal. "If light can get in so can water" I contacted Modern Renovations once again and they finally said they would replace the boots and flashing. I had an appointment scheduled.

On the day of my appointment I contacted and spoke to Franklin Cabrera, owner of MR who said he was sending a tech out to replace the boots and flashing. I took time off work and once again no one ever showed up to make the repair. This back and forth with Modern Renovation, Martinsburg WV has been ongoing with NO RESULTS.

I contacted another roofing company HighPoint Roofing WV who performed a roof inspection and was able to confirm my suspicion of the boots and flashing being the issue. HighPoint provided a recommendation and I have contracted them to repair Modern Renovations shoddy work.

I have reported Modern Renovation to the BBB and will be considering my legal options in suing them.

This company is unprofessional and their work is questionable. I would STEER clear of this company for any work!

Photos attached 1st boot size 3 was way to big, no masting, nothing securing the boot to the pipe.

2nd photo is the replaced boot HighPoint roofing put on size 2 with secure clamp. HighPoint as well replaced the other boot and put flasing in which apparently Modern Renovations did not!!!!

I had an EXCELLENT experience with these guys! They came out right on time, didn't try to up sell me a thing, and got the job done quick and easy! They communicated with me the whole time and answered every question I had. I would recommend Sean and Doc to anyone.

The crew was professional and went "above and beyond" on completing the work and clean-up. When the roof was shy of a few tiles, the crew manager personally travelled over 100 miles away to fetch some additional shingles and immediately completed the roof prior to the storms!

Jon was able to come out very soon after I called about a roof concern. He was totally professional and performed a comprehensive inspection, including taking photos of areas of concern. He thoroughly explained repair and replacement options. Later that day, he provided me with comprehensive estimates. On top of his professionalism, Jon is a really nice guy.

We contacted Modern Renovation to fix some flashing on our house that got removed by the high winds we had recently. We received a quote and though it was more expensive than we thought reasonable, it needed to be fixed.
So we called them and confirmed for the work to be done. We received no response after a week. So we reached out to them and were told we were on the schedule for about 1.5 weeks out. Well it certainly would have been nice to let us know that.
2-3 weeks went by and we received no further communication on when the crew would arrive to fix the issue, we reached out several times with no response. We decided to start looking for other companies to the work and had several quotes come in.
Magically through this process, Modern Renovations must have just decided one day to show up (when we weren't home) and fix the flashing.

We just received an invoice from them about two months after the work was done. The invoice is marked as being 70 days late in payment. Well maybe if you guys had just a bit of communication with your customers it would have been paid on time! What are we mind readers that we just know what the charge is?

Needless to say, we won't be using Modern Renovations again for any work at our house.

Jon came to my house to give me an estimate on siding. I waited two weeks and never received an estimate from him. I contacted the office who said they would reach out to him and he would be in touch. Again, I never heard from him. When I reached back out to the office after a week and a half of no reply. I was again greeted with silence. Very unprofessional company.

Modern renovations was not only professional but they acted quickly for us when we told them the roof was leaking into the house. They are very responsive and the quality of there work really shows. Couldn’t have chosen a better company to replace our roof. Highly recommend!!

The Modern Renovations crew came a couple of days after a winter storm last March 2021, shoveled the snow off my roof and went to work. They tore the old shingles off, replaced 14 sheets of 4X8 plywood and reshingled the roof in less than a full day. I give the crew a lot of credit for the work they did considering the post weather conditions, and they did an exceptional job.

Polite. Hard working - professional. Thorough clean-up. 1 day start to finish. Competitive price. We recommend this company without reservation.

I was wanting a new roof and a permanent cover over an existing concrete patio. They called me on a Monday after I posted a job listing on Angi's list. I was so happy that they called as I heard many of their advertisements on the radio. Jonathan was out the next day and gave me an estimate on my roof. However, no estimate on my patio. So, I called in and talked to the nice young lady who answered the phone and she said that she would have Jonathan call me back. I gave it 3 days and no call came. So, I figured they weren't interested in my business. It's a shame, I have a basement remodel I want done too. I was totally ready to spend a lot of money with these folks as I thought they were a reputable business. But, I never got a return call and hired someone else.

Great people to work with. They got back to me fast to schedule an estimate which was more than fair and had the repair done within the week of the estimate. I know who to call if I need anything done.

I don't know who wrote their 5 star Google reviews but I would not recommend this company for roof work. They have a nice slick sales presentation but everything after the presentation was less than professional.

-- How long until you can start? Two weeks. Wrong, it was 5 weeks.
-- How long will the job take? 1 day with a crew of 10. Wrong. Two full days, working into the dark with a crew of 5.

The crews are all subcontractors and the company does not provide any sort of supervision.

The work was sloppy. If I hadn't gone up on the roof to see the work, it would have been left that way. To their credit, they did come back and fix what I had to point out but If the homeowner has to point out sloppy roofing work, then this is not the company you want to use.

Larry DeMarco and his team at Modern Renovations, LLC really delivered for the Hedgesville High School Tack and Soccer Teams. They did an outstanding job installing siding and making our press box and future concession stand look GREAT! I would highly recommend Modern Renovations, LLC for your next project.

Really has a great experience with these guys, from inspection to installation. During the inspection I got up on the roof with Jonathan who pointed out and explained where the ridge vents done by the previous owner from 2003 showed sign of failure and water protrusion. This home also had previous repairs done on the roof and leaks were patched up from tree damage in multiple locations. Some of the shingles were poorly installed. Their was also a visible dip in the roof and right across was a failed ridge vent causing water to get under the shingle and into the wood leading to warping. The previous gutter guards actually caused more problems than they solved.

They never tried to sell me hard nor did I feel any pressure, they recommended getting different estimates. They gave me a reasonable figure and paperwork was done online. They showed up sooner than expected and completed the job on this massive roof in a day. I was very pleased with the job, see attached picture. Their entire staff from the office to the crew that came out were very professional, would highly recommend them if your considering roof work.

Great experience from start to finish. They were hard working and very respectful. The team was very responsive and answered questions in a timely manner throughout the entire process.
