I had a lot of questions up front and T.J. answered all of them and he was close enough and willing to swing by when an issue came up during the electrical install. The issue was resolved quickly and I was happy with the outcome. The communication I was given when we were onto the installation side of the project could have been a better since I was not always given a good amount of notice when someone was stopping by. Went with Midwest Solar Installers because the equipment seemed better based on my research compared to the other companies I got solar quotes from, even though they were the highest bid. 2 months in and the system is working as expected and only paying the electrical service charge.

I was discussing solar with a friend and he told me that i have to call TJ Miller. I called TJ and he immediately responded and got 12 months of my electrical bills and set up an appointment. He checked out my electrical, looked at my roof, climbed in my attic, and even looked at my meter. I personally had some unforeseen circumstances come up, but I know this for a fact. If you are going to go solar, you should call TJ and go with Midwest Solar Installers. These guys know what they are doing and they don't mess around. Zero hassle and zero BS.

Midwest Solar put 16 panels on my roof along with a 10kWh battery. My spring/fall bills are near-zero and my winter bills have been cut by more than half. One year in and I'm very happy.

Our experience and results with Midwest Solar have been outstanding! The entire process, from quoting, through the installation, to our reduced electric bills, has been better than expected. The best test is when you have a problem and see how the company takes care of it. In our case, the installation was on a windy day and one of the solar panels got away from the installer and dinged a couple of our garage panels. The company let us know what happened right way and had the repairs made. The savings have begun as you can see with our last three months of electric bills - Aug 24 - $13.82, Jul 24 - $169.97 and Jun 24 - $180.11 and we were gone on vacation for two weeks in July. Midwest Solar Installers were fantastic to work with. Sales were not pushy at all and were very patient in explaining every step of the process and answering all of our questions. Total system cost was very competitive and well designed for both aesthetics and performance. Everyone was always super responsive via email or text. Once the solar system was turned on it worked as advertised and I have not had to pay for electricity since. The whole process was very smooth and I would not hesitate to use them again on another home.

Company was great to work with and responded to all my questions. I am not going to lie, I had my doubts and fears about the whole process and products. But they did a great job putting my fears to rest. 25 yr warranty, and a be payback in less than 9yrs. Worked with me on layout to make sure we could fit it all on the back side of the house.
So far , three months in and I have only really paid my electrical connection in June and a $4 dollars in July, and 8 dollars in August, but I mean- heck it’s Iowa and we had some cloudy days. Crews that installed did a great job keeping their worksite clean too. No boxes of trash except what they asked if we could take care of. Payment plan was great too. Working with the team at Midwest was nothing but great with great products and contractors. The app is great too, showing you panel by panel production- day, week, month, year.
If you have any hesitation, don’t- like the wise saying “the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, the second best is now.” This applies to solar as well. Looking forward to continued free electricity for the years to come. Give Midwest solar a shot. Let them show you what they can do.

A great experience, and a great result. The team ran the process from start to finish, and guided everything every step of the way. It is amazing how quickly they executed the whole thing. We were up and running in a matter of some days instead of weeks or months. The package of plans, materials and information is extremely clear and complete. And the installation was very quick and thorough ... and our property was kept spotless and cleaned up before they were gone. A great team all around. And the installation s very well done and looks great on the house. Now the sun is doing the job.

At the end, the crew had not pre-measured the rails holding the solar panels, so they sawed them off without holding on to the rails. The result was that they dinged my year old interlocking steel siding. It was quite a chore to fix the repairs, so more expensive with that much labor. We reached a settlement agreement on the cost. We were very happy with the salesman, the workman ship in general and the performance of the panels. It is my understanding that crew instructions have changed because of our experience. We would recommend Midwest Solar Installers to friends and family.

The entire process with Midwest was great! Due to several restrictions, we had special requests for where we wanted the panels installed. After 3 other local installers told us it wasn't possible, we were ready to give up. In comes Chris and Midwest Solar. "No problem" he says. "We do this all the time."

They kept us informed on what the next steps were going to be, how long they thought it was going to take, and took the time to ensure we understood how the system itself works.

Midwest Solar Installers were very easy to work with. Installation looks great and am more than happy as to the performance of our solar system.

It took the salesman 2 months to get back to me after the initial quote and it took 10-12 months to get the panels up and running after the initial contact probably due to hold ups with the electric company. Outside of that it has been working good since then.

Professional, explained in detail how solar works, how it is installed, always available to answer all questions. Gave appropriate timeline as to when job would be complete. Best experience!

If you are going to have solar installed as my wife and I have done to reduce our electric costs, Midwest Solar Installers is who we recommend. They use American made products. They monitor your system 24/7 to make sure it is always working. They are a local company (Waterloo, Iowa).

Installed an array June of 2023 and so far so good. I've had a couple months of $0 electrical bills! After the install there was a missed fuse in the electrical box causing the array to not work for a few days. Midwest Solar Installers were quick to fix the issue and compensated me for the missed days of solar production. I have called on a few occasions to ask questions about the solar production and they have been quick to respond and were easy to talk to. I would highly recommend going solar and using Midwest Solar Installers to do so.

Midwest stepped up after the Moxie bankruptcy left us high and dry. They did a great job recovering the project, keeping things moving, and getting us done close to our original budget. Very grateful to them!

I’ve always wanted solar! What made working with Midwest Solar perfect was the customer service. From the initial meeting to see if it would work from me, throughout the ENTIRE installation process they were thorough not just in their work but their communication with what is transpiring and what will happen next for each step. Then the follow up to see if I’m satisfied and things are going great concluded my wonderful experience. First month, and it’s been a rainy one, and my electric bill already dropped from $131 to $47! Gave me great service and were very attentive to all my needs and always understood my issues, which there were many but still were very nice and worked with me in every which way. I very much appreciated all their help and would recommend them to anyone looking for a solar install on their home.

This year I decided to move into the "future" with the addition of solar. I didn't have a particular installer that I wanted. Calling around, I came across Midwest Solar Installers. Their representative was very courteous and way, way more knowledgeable about solar than I know I will ever be. From the moment that we met, to the very final step necessary to turn on my solar installation, I was kept in the loop. They are a pleasure to work with and if they say they are going to have someone come and work on the installation, believe me, they are there.

I was asked to rate Midwest Solar from zero to five. If there was a six or higher, I would do that. Of course, any time you rate someone, there is always a "BUT". This situation is no different.

With 3 parties or more being involved, the customer, the solar installer, the utility company, and sometimes others like homeowner associations, etc., who I will lump into the 'third-party', things can go astray. It was no different for me. Midwest Solar seemed to go out of their way to help work through the "third-party" and get any problems resolved.

As time has gone by since the installation, I have been given timely updates. This has been most helpful. I would highly recommend this company and their product.

We checked with several different solar companies and we chose Midwest solar installers. And we are glad we did TJ was very easy to work with very knowledgeable of everything. All the people who were involved with the installation were so easy to work with. Everything they promised to do was done and TJ maid sure everything was done.

TJ has always been honest and straightforward about the cost seting up and going through all of the various stages of the instalation process and with follow up assessment. He is a great asset to the Midwest Solar Installer company.

On October 27th we entered in a contract with Midwest Solar, thanks to the efforts of T.J. Miller and Forrest Estrem the installation was completed on December 27th. System completed in sixty-one days, we were up and producing about a week later. Thanks for a job well done.

Among the several solar installers contacted, Midwest offered the most competitive quote by far. The sales team was very professional. From the start, my goal was to "do it right the first time," and Midwest was very accommodating to my specifications. Shout out to Schuyler Niedermann, the service manager on my project. He took my expressed goal to heart and was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. Furthermore, he showed immense integrity in light of the following complications described below.

1) The original installation plan fell through because all of the panels did not fit on the roof. This was only discovered after the panels had arrived and the installers had shown up. Had the subcontracted installers not reached out to inform me of this prior to starting work, the system would have been 4 panels short of the agreed contract. This was resolved by agreeing to move the system to the roof of a shed/garage.
2) Out of convenience, I asked for a few electrical upgrades to be done concurrently with the work that was required for the solar installation. The extra completed work was poorly communicated between Midwest, the subcontracted electricians, and myself. This led to a bill that was way over the estimate and all three parties splitting a bill for which no one felt responsible.

In summary, I would do it all over again. For a competitive price, Midwest delivered a beautiful solar system that is so far functioning as advertised. Despite the hiccups, in the end, Midwest did right by me.

2) The initial inspection was insufficient, requiring a significant change in installation plans

Midwest Solar Installers did all the heavy lifting and made the installation of our system so easy, keeping us informed all the way from project start to flipping the switch to ON.

If you're reading this, you're "kicking the tires" on going solar as I was in spring/summer '23 when I first contacted MSI to explore the costs & practicality of solar power. I have especially good "staging" for solar, with my backyard roof facing east & NO trees or tall buildings blocking out Sunlight from dawn to mid-afternoon, along with my Alliant meter & service coming into the house & into my basement breaker panel also on that same east side. I just felt like this was IDEAL for a solar array, and I'd be crazy NOT to take advantage of these big pre-existing solar "boosters" that my lot & geography offered.

I spoke with 4 solar installers & got bids from 3. Thankfully, all three seemed reputable, responsive & credible, of course including MSI. As all parties agree, customers HAVE to engage actively with multiple trade pros not only to consider all elements of our particular installation (and its COST), but also the competency & professional gravitas of its sales people. I chose MCI because our interaction was very positive & they won my confidence sufficiently to "take the leap" and get my installation done during July/August '23.

I had a 13 panel, 5.785 kWh system installed in mid-July & online & active by August. Installation went VERY smoothly, but I still shudder to recall the ground man installer muscling those unwieldy 70-lb panels up a creaky extension ladder, then passed off to the roof guy, receiving that bulky & fragile panel while standing in "free air" on a sloped roof, then wrangling it into place, getting it connected, then clamping it down. I NEVER harbored any illusions about attempting this as a DIY job, but seeing the installation made me GRATEFUL to just leave it to the pros.

COST for the system was actually LESS than I'd pay for a good used car today, AND the array is harvesting the photons like crazy, as anticipated. Consider that my Nov & Dec power bills were under $13 each month! I can only be HAPPY with my experience & results so far, and IF you're still wavering, I'd encourage you to MAKE THE CALL to MSI to evaluate how they can "bring you into the sun."

They were great to work with. They followed through with everything they agreed to. Installation was quick. They took care of paperwork. There was a glitch in our system after installation and they were on it right away before I even called about it. The service was wonderful. I would recommend if you are looking at solar contact them and another company. You will see a difference and that is why we went with Midwest Solar Installers.

I will say I was a little hesitant on getting solar , but these guys made it easy. In just a few months over this summer accumulation my electric bills are no more. You really notice a difference when that sun shines.
(Even on cloudy days it’s still generating)
