Ed Cuervo from Midwest Cedar Roof came by and introduced himself last week. He is literally a neighbor on Brown Street and saw me pressure washing the front stains on our brick façade. While my hot water cleaning process was working well, it was also consuming considerable amounts of time. He offered to clean the front for me as he had an idle crew readily available.

His crew did an outstanding job and in only a few hours! The building brick looks so much better and was completed in a fraction of time it would have taken me to do the same. What a great neighborhood!

Ed and his team do excellent work. They’re responsive, cost effective, efficient and trustworthy.They took a bunch of photos of a skylight that needed to be replaced during the initial estimate to show the issues and also took photos during the replacement to show proper installation and quality workmanship.

Called Midwest Cedar Roof Maintenance and set up an appointment for an estimate to treat and repair my Cedar roof. Quick response and appointment made.

Day of estimate was shown pictures of areas that were in need of repairs and given a detailed explanation of the work that was needed. Very happy about that because it helped me understand the process of treating my roof.

Estimate was a fair price compared to other Cedar treatment companies. Decided go with Midwest Cedar Roof because of how honest and informative they were. They even found a chimney stone that have fallen off. They offered to reinstall it free of charge.

Day of treatment. They arrived early and explained the process. They covered our patio furniture and got to work. Replacing the damage Cedar shakes, fastening all the loose ones, treating and staining the whole roof. Even washed our windows during the process to avoid them getting stained.

Once complete, they cleaned up well. No concern with nails all over the drive way or damaged plants.

Over all we love the grey color on our roof and very satisfied with the work and price and costumer service that was provided. I ll definitely continue to use Midwest Cedar Roof Maintenance on any of our future treatments and repairs. I definitely recommend them.

5-stars, Ed and Enrique were great to work with, we interviewed a few local cedar roofing specialists, most everyone had similar pricing and proposals. Ed, however took the time to follow up with us, ensured all of our questions were answered, was consistent with his messaging and showcased a thorough depth of knowledge on how best to approach maintaining and preserving my cedar roof over the life of it, not just the here and now. Ed actually recommended doing a soft wash now and preservation in a year or two, making the investment when it mattered instead of when it was convenient or got them more sales, the reasoning behind the recommendation was because my roof is pretty new, within 5 yrs.

Come the day of the work, they showed up on time, did a great job on my roof, walked through a few items pertaining to it, covered everything and did a very thorough job of cleanup, up to and including cleaning the windows as to not leave water spots and streaks.

I've contracted with Ed and his crew on 2 different jobs this last fall/early winter and can highly recommend them.
The first was the removal and installation of a residential gazebo roof. The team was onsite when they said they would be and did an awesome job of replacing a badly worn, thinly shingled roof with a beautiful high quality new roof. The quality and craftsmanship of their work was great - especially on the two-tiered octagon roof. The crew was both personal and professional and stayed on to make sure that the job was finished and all debris was properly taken care of.
The second was the repair of a 5 building professional condo association. Again, the crew was onsite when promised and repairs were done to replace missing/broken/cupped shingles on the 5 building complex. All of this was able to be done during normal business hours as Ed and his crew were clean, kind, and courteous to the people and the businesses that were still operating during the process. Ed was willing to schedule the repairs during the weekend if necessary, but they were not disruptive at all.
"Midwest" will be back in the spring for final cleaning and preservation at both sites. I've seen pictures of their work and have experienced nothing but the best services from them. They have done nothing but the best services for a very reasonable (and what I've found to be best) price.

As i found out just dealing with Ed the owner, which i had a great experiance dealing with, and Juan the fellow that came out and inspected my roof that they were professinal in every way!! juan went on top of my roof inspected and took pictures to show me what needed to repaired at a reasonable price. Juan and two helpers showed up to do the work on the day we were scheduled . They were a crew of workers when i saw them do the job that I could trust !! I chose Midwest Cedar Roof Maintenance after getting several bids for cleaning and repair of my older cedar shake roof. Ed answered the phone when I called. He was very nice and responsive. He made time for an estimate within a day or two. I was impressed with his inspection to start with. He climbed up on my roof, inspected the whole thing and came down showing me pictures and describing what he saw and recommended. I had the written proposal very soon after. He had me scheduled for the first part, cleaning within a week I think. Next came repair and then applying the preservation. I had to call Ed several times for questions and a couple schedule changes. Each time he answered the phone. No voicemail, no getting back to me a few days later. Ed came each time for the three steps. He and his crew were awesome. On time, hard working, did a great job and cleaned up each time. I can’t say enough good things. This is the second time I've used Midwest Cedar roof for maintenance and sealing of my cedar shake roof. Enrique, Ed, Adan, and the whole crew are very good at what they do. Very professional and courteous....genuinely good people. They inspected, cleaned, and replaced any cedar on my roof and then applied a comprehensive coat of preservative to all surfaces. They did a good clean up including windows and skylights. They were all very responsive to any requests I had.

Ed, the owner, was fantastic. He did everything he could to meet my needs. His staffs did phenomenal job as well to repair and perform maintenance on my roof. I would definitely have them my go to guys for the roof maintenance.

I contacted this company to have my home’s cedar roof cleaned. Ed first came to look at our roof and get an idea of what needed to be done. He clearly understands cedar roofing. He explained in detail what needed to be done and how it would be done. He also gave us his estimate. Ed’s crew arrived as promised and did a thorough job of cleaning the cedar shakes where needed. (This company uses a power washer but does not use pressure. Pressure/power washing can damage cedar shakes.) Some time later, a crew returned to stain the roof in order to protect it from damage.

The roof looks much better. I will call this company again to have my roof cleaned whenever it is needed. I highly recommend this company.

The majority of other cedar roofing companies will not come out and give you an honest and free assessment . They also will not tell you to get another quote ! I hired this company to help me out replacing a couple missing roof tiles and they took care of it quickly for a reasonable price!

I have used this company three times. They replaced all the ridge cedar shakes, replaced damaged shakes, and a repair for a leak. The were responsive, friendly, did a great job, all at a very reasonable price. They also included a great follow up warranty. Recently we needed a quick repair done and Adan came through. We recently purchased a home and needed cedar roof repair where most of the ridge caps required replacing. We contacted three cedar roof companies which all provided a quote. Although Midwest Cedar Roof Maintenance had the highest quote we felt they took the time to explain what they plan to accomplish which made the difference. Our home was over 5000 sq ft so we wanted someone who we could trust. Enrique came out and listed out what we needed to repair and also provided a preventative maintenance repair which will help preserve our roof. Great Job on a complete ridge line repair and additional shakes throughout the roof. These guys were awesome and personable. Was a pleasure having them at the house. I couldn’t believe when they got the whole roof done in a day. They were thorough on the clean up with blowers, magnets to find nails and staples and above all, did an amazing job on the roof! My roof was no small task either! I also had the soft wash done on half of the roof. In an effort to save some much needed money, they hit the problematic areas and didn’t try to up-sell me on unnecessary work. Great job by Ed and his team on our Lake Barrington home. Midwest Cedar was our fourth bid, as the first three just did not seem to really care that much to do the work. Ed came out to quote the job on a Sunday as we were ready to get this project going. Midwest Cedar offered to do more work than the others, who often seemed focused on just applying the preservative and not doing important repairs. Midwest Cedar was competitively priced and for this type of work, it was a bonus to have the owner Ed on the roof with his team to do the job. We had all of our ridge shakes replaced, along with other repairs, and the roof looks great with the grey preservative color. Ed’s team was prompt, courteous, and professional. They kept a clean work site while using the Cedar preservative which was important as we had just had our house painted and new deck installed recently. Job well done!
