Vince Meurlott has been doing inspections and engineering report for me for years. His work is exceptional I have used him as a buyer, as a seller, and for all my engineering projects when I needed drawings and diagrams for the city inspectors, and for the banks, and appraisers.

Since I know that for many years Vince has worked in the field doing home inspections, construction permit reviews for the city of North Pole, engineered building designs, and designed needed home repairs for existing structures, I have peace of mind knowing he is very well acquainted with the challenges common to construction in our climate, where to look for possible problems, and how to best retrofit solutions where needed.

As a technical drafter, in working with Vince professionally on dozens of projects, it is obvious that his goal is always to provide
practical solutions and/or designs that are also cost effective for the client to implement. I have been impressed with how easy it is to work with him, and how I can always count on him when I need help. As such, on straight-forward projects he has referred clients to me for the bulk of the basic overall design work and when needed he was always easy for me to reach to work through design questions. At the completion of my work I could seamlessly hand the project back to him for the final design review and/or for collaborating on changes to the final drawings.
On other more complex building designs I would serve primarily
as a drafter and he would take point. Here too, it's always been a smooth process and I won't hesitate to work with him in the future.

Vince has inspected 3 houses for us. Two of which we bought. He didn't miss any problems with any of them. In fact he pointed out an issue with the house we didn't buy, and that's partly why we didn't buy it! I have also done the repair work on some houses that Vince inspected. I must say, he's picky about the quality of the parts and the work. Overall, Vince is careful and conscientious.

Vince Meurlott is a super star. When I need a great assessment with TRUTH in order to make a hard decision, I call Vince. I am sometimes surprised that he even answers my phone call because he must know that I have a real challenge, but he must like a real challenge, too. He is reliable, trustworthy, and correct in his recommendations. Thank you Vince for your work with this food bank as we have grown over the past several decades.

We hired the Meurlott Consulting firm to come to our home and advise us regarding a project that involved removing a portion of a wall that our contractor was concerned may have been a weight-bearing wall. Vince Meurlott responded immediately to our request, setting up an appointment one week later, to which he appeared on time and ready for the inspection. He was polite, knowledgeable, and thorough in his assessment, and he assured us that what we were planning was feasible, even offering suggestions to our contractor on how to assure that the remaining wall remained stable. We were satisfied and grateful for his professionalism.

Vince did the inspection on the home we moved into. Multiple issues were found after we moved in that should have been addressed (we’ve had professionally licensed tradesmen very surprised certain things were missed). We had to go back and ask Vince to check the giant detached garage that he neglected to check the first time around.
We were in the home for less than a month before we started having significant issues well into the several thousands of dollars.

I was very pleased with the work done by Meurlott Consulting. Vince was prompt, efficient, and very responsive to any questions I had. His report was phrased in a manner that could be easily understood, and was a very helpful reference in moving forward with the purchase process.

Vince and Raul are always professional and more importantly to me...thorough. If I am looking for even a bolt out of place, his team will note it. Vince shows up, is personable with his bag of treats/coffee and gets the job done. I respect the fact that even in the middle of winter you will see them strapping on elbow pads, knee pads and a head lamp in order to crawl below a house from the outside. No board, pipe or electrical panel left unturned.

Vince is the only one I trust. He has helped us with multiple home purchases as well as additions and remodels. He is head and shoulders above anyone else in Alaska.

When it came time to get an engineer's report on the house we're building, I asked around, as many of my friends have also built their own homes. Everyone said "Vince Meurlott!" and so I booked an appointment. They were able to schedule us in quickly, he arrived promptly, and he was TERRIFIC. So helpful, really positive, had great suggestions, and was MUCH more affordable than the engineer the bank suggested. I can't recommend him enough!
