I received three quotes for attic insulation and ultimately chose Metropolitan for several reasons. From the first impression, Bruce and his team stood out—they were extremely careful and respectful of our home. Bruce, born and raised in the community, is deeply rooted in its history and values. He is a man of his word, highly knowledgeable, and honest. As a certified home inspector, he provided expert insights and offered three tiers of pricing, with the most affordable option still meeting our needs.

Once we agreed on an option, we placed a deposit and scheduled the installation. On the day of service, Bruce’s team arrived with the same professionalism and kindness that he embodies—genuine, humble, and always smiling. They took great care to protect our home, covering our belongings before getting to work. They completed the insulation and added rafter vents efficiently, and Bruce personally ensured the final result met the highest standards. When I inspected the attic, I was blown away by the quality of their work.

Not only did they complete the job flawlessly, but they also cleaned up thoroughly, even using HEPA filters to ensure no dust was left behind. From start to finish, the experience was seamless and exceeded my expectations. I was so impressed that I tipped each worker $100 and gave them bags of goodies and food as a token of appreciation.

In 1987 I had Bruce from Metropolitan Windows & Improvements insulated my walls and the attic in my house. It made an immediate difference in my natural gas and electrical costs during the winter and summer. They did an amazing job. In 2002 I had to take the rear wall down on my house to add an addition. I removed the bricks and saw all the insulation that was blown in by Metropolitan Windows & Improvements. There was not one inch of the wall that was not packed with insulation. I had them insulated my daughters house in 2017. She also realized a hugh savings in her gas/electric bill. Bruce is amazing! I have saved thousands of dollars in energy costs since 1987 due to the quality of the work Metropolitan Windows and Improvements had performed.

Bruce put my windows in my home many years ago and they are still in great shape. I gave Bruce a call today to see if he could show me how to take the windows out for moving furniture. This is one of my few contractor projects that shows no problem after many years of use.
I've tested his work for seven years and come to write a review now. Today, the temperature spiked from a fall-like chilly to a summer-steaming feeling. The outdoor temperature is 86 F/30 C; my house is still full of yesterday's cool air, 68 F/20 C—71.5 F/ 21.9 C on the 2nd floor; the 1st floor is cooler. I don't need to turn on the A/C, as I even feel so cold that I need a blanket. I selected the cellulose whole-house insulation with attic insulation for my very average-quality wooden house, even not a brick house. In summer, I only need to turn on the window A/C for less than 8 hrs per day for a couple of weeks. In winter, 1200 sqft average $150-$180 heating bill with 93% efficiency furnace in the coldest month. It is an energy-saving project. Plus, this cellulose material has a noise barrier feature. Most of the noise used to come through the wall is filtered out. Now only the window area has noise come through my house.
Mr. Bruce offered a reasonable price I could afford and installed my house with tested good materials. Compare this to the plumber and licensed electrician I hired who used lead-solder and not up-to-the-code cheap plugs with no fire blocks and fooled me as lacking knowledge of their field. I am very satisfied with my house insulation project done by them. They pulled the permit. I paid the permit cost.

Metropolitan just finished insulating my attic an We are completely satisfied. Bruce the owner came by a gave us a estimate and took plenty of time to answer all of our questions. We received a phone call 2 days prior to the day we agreed upon. Bruce showed at the exact time that was set and covered the entire work area with plastic to keep everything clean. His workers then showed up and began the process. Every time they entered the house they removed their shoes. They were both extremely cordial and polite to both me and my wife. When the job was completed and done to Bruce’s specifications. If you need your attic insulated I would highly recommend Bruce and his workers to do your job.

Long story - Fantastic locally owned company. Fantastic value to fit a range of budgets that are competitive with bigger companies. Above & beyond customer service! Great communication and punctual. Everything done by the book leaving nothing but happy home owners. We had ~14 inches of insulation blown into our attic. Great estimate and explanation of work to be conducted. Great job the day of, and with a fantastic crew. Lastly - my house is cleaner when the left vs. when they arrived (above & beyond cleanliness).

Ok attic insulation can be a mess but Bruce and crew did a great job. They went beyond to make sure our problem was solved. The work was done quickly, cleanly at a fair price!

Bruce is a class act. He is kind, friendly, and extremely knowledgable about his business. He is honest and trustworthy. He and his crew did my attic insulation and everything about the job was excellent. Very highly recommended.

I had Bruce come out to do some repairs for a couple small roof leaks and to install insulation in my attic. I got quotes from several companies for the work, and Bruce stood out for his professionalism and knowledge. He was communicative throughout the whole process - I could always reach him if needed. There were also parts of the job he recommended other experts do (installing the roof vents) - if there's something he doesn't feel qualified to do he will let you know and recommend options. He also knows the local codes and is a former building inspector. Some other companies wanted to do things in my attic that would have violated code, or they were going to do work they weren't insured for.

On top of it all Bruce came in with a great price compared to the other quotes. If you're looking for insulation work or roof/attic inspection & repair, you won't regret going with this company.

Had Bruce and his team come out to blow insulation into our exterior walls. Discovered insulation in walls and informed me that I didn't need the new insulation because it would not do the best to add to what was there already. Came out to do a smaller insulation job when most companies wouldn’t even consider it because it didn’t meet their minimum standards. In a day and time where people try to take advantage of you, I am thankful for Bruce and his staff. I called him for a quote for insulation at my parent's home and he did a wonderful job from start to finish. He was prompt, courteous, and more importantly on time. He did an inspection of the home and made suggestions that would give me more bang for my buck. Bruce did not try to sell me products that I did not need, nor did he try to persuade me against getting another quote to compare prices. I was updated throughout every step of the install of the insulation. I am please to say that the house is warmer and my parents are very please with his services. Bruce is also very knowledgeable about all the services he provides and his prices are lower than many others. As a result of the quality of service, I am having Bruce and his staff inspection and install additional insulation at my personal residence as well. Great price and great dependable service!!

I usually wait a while before posting because I want to see how the work holds up. I had my house insulated in July of 2018. Bruce and his crew did a great job insulating my home. I have a big house with a huge attic. I needed the work done by a certain day so that I could move in. He accommodated my schedule and came out and worked 14 hours on a very hot day. He even came out later and added more insulation free of charge. The insulation has held up great so far. I received a very reasonable price from Bruce and would definitely do business with him again.

Update as of January 2021. Everything has held up great. My utility bills are extremely low for the size of my house. The temperature is always perfect and my furnace and AC never have to work too hard. I was just thinking the other day about how using Bruce and Metropolitan was one of the best decisions I have made when it comes to hiring a contractor. I would definitely use him again in the future.

Metropolitan insolated our attic and not only did a wonderful job but it saved us $50 a month on heating bills. We have used Metropolitan for many other jobs as well and all have been done exactly as we wanted.

Bruce came out in July to give me an estimate, he was on time and had a lot of knowledge. What I didn't appreciate about his sales pitch was that he wasn't telling me why i should do business with him so much as why i should watch out for the "other guys". Additionally, he wanted approximately 300 for thermal imaging when the other 2 quotes I got would do it for free. I waited for his quote that never came so I went with another contractor and turns out the "other guys" do good work too. The lack of communication from this company is troubling and is one of the reasons why they earn 1 star.

Bruce has done our roof, gutters, insulation and waterproofing and some shed repair and we've found his work to be of high quality and quite reasonable.We would recommend him for any work projects.

We recently purchased a home and paid for a home inspection. That inspector didn't see a shoddy patch up job that led to us having a leak in the roof. Bruce came out the same day and immediately saw where the problem was without being directed to it. I highly recommend him both for roof issues and home inspections. He did a better inspection of my home than someone who was specifically hired to do just that. Excellent job and amazing customer service.

Bruce and his team were amazing to work with. They went out of their way to help us install our windows and were able to work around our schedules. Bruce from metropolitan windows did the insulation in my grandfathers attic and they did an A+ job. They came in and made quick work of the attic but got every last square inch (unlike the company prior). They even added vents to the home to help the attic breathe. Very honest and genuine people. Bruce and his staff were right on time and provided great attic insulation. I will do business with him again.

Had a leak in the roof of our house. Call many roofing companies, including the one that did original installation. Bruce set up appointment to check out roof leak the next day. A crew arrive the following day to do the repairs to the roof, and replace the damaged siding near the roof to ensure that no water was entering house from that area. Jan who worked on the repairs spent nearly 30 minutes flooding the suspected area finding no leaks in the attic area. Great crew did great clean up and stated that "IF" it did leak call them and they would come out and find the leak and repair it.
I would definitely recommend Metropolitan needing their services.
