After one call Jake came out immediately to replace 8 shingles lost to wind, done in one hour. I did have spare shingles on site that helped. I caught him at a great time as he starts a big project tomorrow. Thanks again Jake.

Jake and his crew does excellent work. Jake's father was my father's handyman since I was a little kid, and always did excellent work. And clearly Jake learned from his dad what quality work is all about. Jake did a tearoff and replacement of my parents roof, and earlier his dad had done some chimney repairs. This is not a typical house, a 24 foot ladder will not get you onto the roof. So this was not the kind of job that someone would expect the homeowner to take a close look at. But one time I did get myself a 34 foot ladder, and went up on that roof. No shortcuts, no "good enough". Every shingle, every mortar line, was perfect. Everything was done exactly right.
As a handyman myself, I've been on and repaired hundreds of roofs. And I've seen more brand new roofs so poorly done I couldn't even believe it. Maybe 1 or 2 out of 10 are actually done properly. There's a lot more to doing a roof than just getting all those new shingles up there. How it's done, the detail, is the key. Roofing aside, I've seen very few tradesman in any category that really do things right. Jake is really an exception. There's only one way to do it, the right way, and that is what you'll get with him. When it comes time to do my roof, I'm calling him. I'm not getting quotes. I'm not even going to ask him for a quote. Whatever it takes to get him, I'll do. Because I know it will be right.
