Matt the Painter

Highly recommend Matt the Painter. This review is long overdue! I will always use Matt the Painter for all my painting needs. In April of 2022 I desperately needed the exterior of my house painted. My son recommended Matt the Painter. When I called they genuinely understood my situation and set up an appointment for an estimate the next day. Sherlynn was on time. Kind, professional and very knowledgeable. (The 1st and last picture below are before, middle ones are after.) Sherlynn reluctantly advised me that they could not help me as there was to much hail and sun damage. The hail storm was in May of 2020. If they painted is would only deteriorate in a couple years. She advised me to contact my insurance company and file a claim ASAP as the deadline to file was a month later. I filed the claim. Everything was okay. Many companies would have left it at "we can't help you" and left. Not Sherlynn! Had it not been for Matt the Painter and the knowledgeable Sherlynn I would've been totally out of luck. I'm retired and on a fixed income and everything is okay. Thank you Matt the Painter and Sherlynn. I'll be calling when I need any paint job that I can't handle.

Matt is a stand up guy! As a professional he is timely, detailed and great to work with. When he bids a project, he takes detailed notes and photos for his crew. His painters work quickly and do a great job! I’ve worked as a painter and can be quite picky, but was not disappointed! The team was flexible and professional. Would recommend with no exceptions. From the beginning appt to create an estimate through to the completion and billing, Matt and employees were super professional and reliable. The actual crew was extremely helpful with finding unforeseen circumstances that needed an absentee owners’ opinion or approval, and solving the problems. They were easy to work around the schedule of other contractors in the house, yet independently complete the job in a timely manner.
Since completing our interior areas, we have contracted with Matt to paint our exterior this summer. We couldn’t be more pleased to recommend Matt and his employees.

We had Matt the Painter, stain our cedar home. They did an amazing job, we could not be more pleased. Do to our hard water our windows needed to be washed after they power washed the house. They had no problem in washing the windows and touching up what needed to be done.We will be sure to use Matt the Painter any time we need painting done.

They even have a very knowledgeable decorating consultant who comes to your home and helps you choose the perfect color for your project. We had Matt the Painter paint the entire interior of our house a few months ago. It looks wonderful. We also needed them to clearcoat the underside of the back patio roof, which they couldn't do until the weather warmed up. They gave us a quote, they called us when the weather was warmer, and they came out right on time. Jason, the project foreman, wasn't 100% satisfied with the clearcoat so they came out and did it again and all I can say is "Wow!". It looks amazing. They are good people to work with and do high quality work.

We couldn’t be more pleased! Matt the Painter ‘s employees are exceptional, they take pride in their work and it shows. The painting they did for us is perfect! I have to add that the crew, Direlle, Jeremiah, Wes and Robert were wonderful, very professional!

The owner is nice, and respectful but in order to have the inside of our home painted we’d have to take a loan out, good Lord! We passed on this one!

REPLY: Sorry Matt the Painter, but $28,000 (Justified by YOU because there are no Mexicans for cheap labor) is just gouging the client. By the way, I’m a Latina, so your cheap labor comment immediately cancelled your chance of painting our home, the fee was the second!

Matt the Painter and his team just finished transforming our home! His team for our job - led by Matthew - were great communicators, courteous, and so tidy! They painted basically every inch of our home (including baseboards, doors, and stair spindles), and it was worth every cent. The paint coat is even and lines are crispy! I love it so much - 10/10 would recommend to everyone.

I set up an appointment for an estimate. He showed up and refused to give me an estimate. He instead wanted to "take over my insurance claim". Said that giving an estimate is not worth his time. Even though the woman I spoke to made the appointment for an estimate. I made it very clear that I needed an estimate when I spoke with her. He decided to treat me as though I as a homeowner do not know enough to deal with my own insurance company and tried to "school" me on things I don't know about insurance. All of which I did know. Not sure how they ever paint a house without an insurance claim, if they won't tell a homeowner how much it will cost...

At our first contact Matt was punctual and spent time listening to my wants and questions, explaining the procedure, products to be used, cost, and timeline. His crew was neat, clean, non-smoking, polite, and extremely diligent in their prep work. The job took several days; it was not rushed and was so professional. I did not feel intimidated when contacting Matt with a question. He provided me with a carpenter to repair a bit of rotten fascia and his painter returned to complete the painting. We were so impressed with Matt and his crew's professional approach. Matt had some great ideas on how to approach the project, which entailed painting approximately 80% of our house, and how to minimize the disruption of moving furniture around, taking down wall hangings, etc... His estimate clearly outlined the steps to be taken and how the process would work and, most importantly, once we accepted the bid he and his crew were timely and stayed right on schedule. His crew was absolutely meticulous and very conscientious with the painting job and letting us know a day in advance which room(s) they would be working in next.
