Master Docks

Absolutely love our new boat dock/lift. Master docks is a fantastic company to partner with if you’re in need of a dock repair or replacement. John, Vince and the installation team are excellent communicators and keep you informed every step of the way. Unfortunately, Hurricane Helene delayed my install by several months but in hindsight, probably for the better. If you’re on the fence, don’t hesitate to contact these guys as you will not be disappointed.

We have been so pleased and impressed by this business from start to finish. We can honestly say that we have never come across a business that is as responsive and quick as Master Docks. John is an asset to this company. He was the first to reply with a quote for our port installment and with competitive prices. And we truly believe no matter the size of the job, John will treat you like you are the most important client. The crew was professional and cleaned the area, they didn't leave a trace after the installment was completed. They even went above and beyond to install a ladder that we have been attempting to get the previous dock builders to come back and do. We have no hesitation recommending them and we will definitely return to them for any services they provide in the future!

Outstanding experience with Master Dock and our Wave Armor Port purchase and installation! I contacted several dock installers/dealers in the area when we purchased our two Jet Skis for Port estimates and ideas. Most were only interested in selling what was currently in their stock, including the contractor who built our existing dock here on Lake Keowee, ten years ago. Our Jet Skis are long and heavy, so I wanted something larger than commonly stocked ports.

John not only spoke to me and returned my telephone calls promptly, but he took the time to listen and address my needs and preferred options, and went the distance by reaching out last minute directly with Wave Armor to make a request to ensure our ports made the shipment deadline, which was above and beyond anything I expected from any dealer. At that moment he sold me on Master Docks and their attention to customer service. John was responsive, personal, and attentive to our needs. Master Dock prices are competitive, but it is the service that makes the difference at the end of the day.

The installation date arrived and I was given a courtesy call the day prior to confirm delivery and installation. The crew (TJ and AJ) arrived on-time and did a professional job adding the two Wave Armor ports to our existing dock. Then David followed up to ensure we were satisfied with our Master Dock experience.

I am grateful for and give my highest recommendation to Master Docks. A first class operation for sure! Please contact them and give them an opportunity to plan, build and install your dock and port needs. You will not be disappointed!

The dock pictured first on their website is mine, it was at my house when I bought it. I had MD convert the 40' ramp to a 60'. That was well done. But the wheels jacks they put on by bolting to the aluminum rails stripped off and broke the welds of the railing. They replaced those wheels with the ones pictured under warranty. Also field welded the rail back. Promised those would work. But this fall moving the dock out the welds failed. The jacks need to be cradled under the aluminum. These don't work. They quit responding to me when I tried to address an improper system of poor design that failed yet again. Picture attached shows broken welds. If I lower the wheel it just raises the rail off the deck, doesn't lift the ramp. Lower it enough, the rail will bend.

Master Docks is the best. Great job, well built, on time and service is exceptional. David and John really took good care to make sure we ordered what we wanted and the team did a great job installing.

I searched several dock producers and chose Master Docks after visiting their business in Inman. I will say they are not the cheapest, but you will not find a BETTER dock or business to work with. The materials used is nothing but the best, their craftsmanship is flawless, their installation is clean and professional, their Salesman was honest, he put together the design and got all the permits. I didn’t have to do a thing! Everyone communicated what would happen and when. I have a maintenance free dock that will last my lifetime. Master Docks is a very impressive company that understands customer satisfaction. From start to finish was two months- highly recommended!!

John and his team did an outstanding job completely overhauling my 16 year old dock to a no maintenance aluminum frame solution. The finished product is best in class.

The finished product is fantastic! The aluminum and metal materials will far out last any pier made with wood or materials with wood in it. The roof protects our boat and looks great with the hipped design. The double wide section gives us plenty of room for recreational fun and hosting visitors. The pier is all free floating without the use of the annoying steel pylons to secure it. The ladder is a staggered step design that allows us to simply step out of the lake with minimal effort similar to stairs in your house. It is clear that Master Docks continues to improve their product because my pier has thicker posts in several places compared to the same pier that was installed for a friend of mine a few years ago.

Salesman John Deshields was very helpful and responsive throughout the entire project. He replied to phone calls and text messages, even on the weekends, to help us understand and figure everything out. This was necessary because the whole project took much longer than the average time for this type of pier. I know someone who purchased this same pier a few years ago and his entire project was finished in a few days. My installation started in October and finished up in December. This was due to ongoing issues with the installers. They had some distance to travel and often arrived before lunch and left mid-afternoon which did not leave a lot of time to work on the project. They damaged some treads during installation and this required some time to order more treads. I took a few days off work because I was told I needed to test my boat on the lift, but the communication with the installers was terrible and I eventually learned this was not even necessary. One day, I asked them if they were ready to test my boat on the lift and they said, yes. I put my boat in the water and met them at the launch area as they were taking their boat out and leaving. Again, the communication was terrible and very frustrating for me because I was not yet living at the house and need to coordinate being available. I feel the main problem was having several young guys do the installation without a foreman. I provided Master Docks with a punch list for a few things that needed to be completed and they did accomplish each task, but the whole project took a long time and other than Deshields, the communication was poor.

The overall takeaway is we feel we received a great product and our pier gets a lot of attention from neighbors and other boaters on the lake, but the service needs to be improved. My rating would have been a 5 out of 5 with better service from the installers.

From the beginning it was a pleasant experience dealing with John. He came across as a class act and was professional from the very first conversation.

After talking with another local dock guy, I realized quickly, there’s only one clear choice here on Lake Bowen.

Was it expensive? Unbelievably. Was it a long process? Almost 6 months… would I do it again? In a New York Minute. It was an arduous process to go through, but it was totally worth it in the end.

I have the nicest dock I’ve ever seen and the guys who installed it were super nice and very courteous from beginning to end. They installed a dual slip dock with two lifts and two jet ski ports. It is exactly what I could have dreamed it looking like in the end and I absolutely love it.

If you’re considering a new dock or even dock renovations, I wouldn’t call anyone else. Absolutely the finest people I’ve ever dealt with. I wish all business transactions were this good.

Just want to say the Master Dock team is top shelf. Dock is perfect and you can see the quality workmanship and attention to detail. Welds smooth and even! Not easy to do on aluminum I would bet.

Master Docks out of Inman, SC did a great job from start to finish installing my new boat lift at Lake Murray. The sales rep John DeShields stayed on top of the project with ordering, scheduling, communication timelines and follow through. The Installers we're hard working, polite and did quality job. It is very difficult to find a company of that caliber these days. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

My experience with Master Docks was fantastic! I had to wait on getting it but, that was due to the weather and seasons.
I was amazed at how quickly the fabulous crew put this lift together.
One thing I want to mention..be careful and always know where your canopy is positioned. We had a mishap and Master Docks was unbelievably quick to repair the dink on the roof. Thank you to the whole staff at MD..I felt that they were very polite, considerate and hard workers. If you are trying to make a choice about which boat lift ,etc company to choose you should look no longer. Master Docks is the best at what I got which was a lift and cover.

Great people to work with. Took a little longer to get the dock than first planned, but the delay is understandable due to COVID. Seems like everything is late these days.
The quality of the finished product is outstanding.

A little less than a year ago Master Docks out of Inman South Carolina installed a new Aluminum Boat Cover & Float Air 6000 Pound Rated Front Mount Lift on my existing wooden refurbished wooden dock for my 24' Pontoon Boat.

It was a great experience from design through installation.

David came up with a great design and worked with me to get approval from Duke Energy and York County SC to install these enhancements to my existing dock.

I love my new Aluminum Boat Cover and lift - I have excellent clearance under the canopy for the pontoon & It is very comforting knowing that in case of getting caught out on the lake in the rain .. I can leave my Bimini Top up and keep my guest warm and dry while we pull into the dock and onto the lift.

Both the aluminum cover and boat lift are functionally perfectly and have given me months of maintenance free operation. Both will add years to the life of my boat. The cover protects from the sun, wind, rain and snow. The lift keeps the algae from growing on my toons and affecting the performance and beauty of the pontoon.

I highly recommend Master Docks - they are professional and very customer focused.

Excellent dock using very good materials and very good craftsmanship. Highly recommend. John Deshields stayed on top of the project the entire time. It was about a nine month wait but worth it.

What a professionally run company. Had their crew come out to my residence to install a boat roller ramp at the foot of my shoreline. Deon & Kye were both courteous and knowledgeable. The installation was seamlessly and efficiently done. Would definitely recommend and use Master Docks in the future. Bravo!!

John was very responsive in providing a quote for a smaller project on our dock. They provided a competitive bid and completed our project in a timely manner. We had a small issue at the end and he was very quick to address it and provide a solution. Great folks that take pride in their work and company. This company is out of Inman, SC. They are one of the few groups near our lake that carry the high-end super well constructed Wave Armor jet ski/PWC ports. The owner was very responsive and they insured that we had the right product at the right time and they are bringing it out to instal it on our dock on Lake James in Marion, NC. We have been very pleased, and would highly recommend this group.

They stay pretty busy but if you're not in a hurry I would recommend Master Docks. Unfortunately docks and lifts aren't cheap but they're very good on price considering others in the area. Their operation has grown tremendously over the past few years so they're definitely doing something right! If you're in market for a dock or lift, I would highly recommend these guys!

I called David concerning an issue I had where the walkway to my dock was pulling away from the seawall. David explained to me that he was a couple of weeks behind, but would come out and take a look at it. Not only did he show up the next day, but repairs were made to correct the situation and help me avoid further trouble. Thanks David!

I went with Master Docks for my Sunstream Swiftshield boat cover. I recommend every boat owner to deeply consider the automated Swiftshield boat cover. I've bought many covers over the years and they all represent a chore. Let me tell you this. The first time you watch your boat cover ITSELF you'll be hooked. Call Master Docks for a quote, and order early. It does take some time for the parts to arrive but it's worth the wait. When I walk out to the dock I simply hold the uncover button and the boat is fully uncovered before I can even get to it. Master Docks services Lake Murray!

We moved to a house on a lake in September. This is our first experience with lake living and owning a boat dock. Because the dock needed some work, I was referred to Master Docks by our real estate agent. I contacted David to come out and give us some advice on what needed to be done. He responded immediately, came out quickly, made some suggestions and gave us an estimate the next day. This was late in the season - mid November. Most of the work was completed before Christmas and we were happy with the results. Weather prevented the finishing touches from being completed, but David made adjustments to our final bill for any trouble it had caused.

I will definitely call Master Docks again for any future needs related to our dock.

MD has delivered us a quality dock. We have enjoyed it for 6 months now and it still looks new. Construction is solid. We had one float dislodge and they came over the next day to reset prevent future issues.

We so far have appreciated what they have done for us. Just getting started with them, but enjoyed/appreciated the time they took with us showing and explaining options. Also letting us walk through the production area to see the process. Their response time (as they are VERY BUSY) is way out there as far as installation, but we are very excited to finish this process soon!

We ordered our dock and it came sooner than we expected and better than we expected! The quality of dock is unbelievable! It is solid, no swaying on the bridge and built with excellent materials. I would highly recommend them!

This company did the most excellent job rebuilding a dock for us that had been demolished by a fallen tree. They worked very closely with us from day one to make sure we got the exact dock we had before with a few upgrades that we paid extra for. They came out a few more times after delivery to make sure the dock was situated just right in our tight cove. We would highly recommend!

I purchased the boat lift late in the spring and while Master Dock promised to have it installed by the first of June, I wasn't sure this could happened considering I placed this order during the "busy" season. To compound my late order, Master Dock had an employee injured thereby reducing his staff. But, the lift was installed on time (to my amazement). After installation, I had a problem with the electric motor that raised/ lowered my boat. After one attempt to fix the problem, Master Dock installed a new and larger lifting motor at no additional charge. I was impressed that Master Dock did not attempt to install another motor of the same capacity but upgraded the motor at no cost to me. Prompt service, stands behind their product...what more can you ask for?

We purchased a Jetski port from Master Docks at the Greenville boat show. The price was better than the competition and David was very easy to work with. Considering the abundance of rain that we have had in the last few weeks, they were still able to deliver and install the unit pretty quickly. The workmanship was excellent as well.

We had an old, unsafe walkway to our dock that was often under water and lacked safety rails. David responded quickly to our call and designed an aluminum version that met all of our needs. He gave us options on the style and tread color, and his crew shoes up right on time to install it. They even took away our old one. They also provided and installed a new dock box for us. Master Dock's prices were fair, and their service was top notch. We recommend them highly. Great job! Thanks.

Master Docks did a great job on our dock. Dock was on time, and as promised. I was even able to change roof design mid-project, no problem. Worked with me to temporarily install dock while I replaced my landing, then came back for permanent installation. I don’t like surprises when I make a deal, and there were none! Awesome customer service. Master Docks built us a dock and exceeded our expectations in the quaility of workmanship and customer service. They went above and beyond to assure we were pleased with their service and completed and installed the dock sooner than we anticipated. Our winch on our lift recently went out and they came out the next day to replace it. When we noticed a slight issue with the way it was operating, they came back out to get the issue resolved. We will continue using Master Docks because of the expert customer service we get!
